    Are you doing a re-read?

I'm doing a relisten. I have a ton of work (mostly painting and yardwork) to do at my new house so between that (and trips to/from work, hardware store, etc.) I've been re-listening. I probably won't finish it all before aMoL, but I may skip books 7/8/10 to hurry it up.

    AMOL chapter 2 now online

That seemed to be what happened. Pevara initiated it and Androl completed it and took control.

Unfettered Anthology to have WoT short story

This is a freaking fantastic group of authors. Sanderson, Rothfuss, & Brett among my favorites. Its for a good cause too, but a sad commentary on health care in this country too.

    Why was Ishy not punished?

Think its a combination of what QuietAiel said as well as maybe some dispensation for all the good (or would that be bad?) that he did for the DO over the age (Trolloc Wars, making Artur Hawkwing anti-Aes Sedai crazy), etc. There also may be some recognition by the DO that he was insane (due to too much true power usage)?
  6. Some have mentioned in this thread that based on how early this is being done they may push the date forward as was done with tGS. I'd be ecstatic if that was the case. As for the chapter, enjoyed it overall. Really in anticipation mode for more, can't wait.
  7. I wonder how much of his sadism is linked to his overuse of the True Power? He joined the DO because of his view of the logical argument but after he did so, the TP might have made him 'evil', rather than just fatalistic. His connection to Zen Rand might be counteracting that... Many have suspected that the DO can't win with just any circumstances, that he may need the 'champion' of the light to turn or do something. What if for a lasting victory (whether that means permanently or for this cycle of ages) the true victory of the light requires the 'champion' of the dark to turn?

    Demandred Revealed!!!

I still think the only thing left on the table that could merit Demandred's continued secrecy is Shara. Murandy is too small to be really worth it. Shara has been mentioned enough to be a possibility and they have tons of channelers. If its Bashere he'd have to be under compulsion (since if he was a DF, he would have done himself in after seeing Zen Rand's light show in Maradon).

    Caemlyn (FULL PROLOGUE SPOILERS)

There's been a whole lot of 'aes sedai' being made to look like fools and it didn't start with Sanderson. Most notably interactions between the vast majority of the Aes Sedai and the Aiel Wise Ones (after LoC) but to a lesser extent with the kin as well.
  10. I just have this image of the DO campaigning for office AND I WILL EDUCATE ALL - EVEN THE WORMS WHO FIGHT AGAINST ME. HOW CAN YOU BE MORE PRO EDUCATION THAN I AM - VOTE SHAI'TAN!
  11. She's the only forsaken who said (and more than once) that she would abandon and turn against the DO (not counting Asmodean and she had a hand in that too).
  12. There was a lot of the last three books which Jordan either outlined, or dictated the general plot of. I'm assuming Graendal's screwups (Aran'gar, Messana, etc.) were among them.

    Dreadbane...

Not that I recall hearing, but there was a ter'angreal of him: http://wot.wikia.com/wiki/Bearded_man
  14. I think the "Lews Therin" comment alone is enough to say it is one of the forsaken (and not the new one we've seen in the prologue or any others who may have been promoted).

    Thisguy's Topic on Brandon's Work

I think that's a great way of putting it - as 'critic' vs 'non-critic' (as opposed to casual vs die hard), just like movie/book critics.
