leaning scum on the hydra of nyn/hallia

twice in the last few pages nyn was askec for her thoughts on the game and twice she deflected.

Please say more: What exactly was she asked about? How did she deflect?

dreadpirateroberts,

what is your take on eldrick's meta?

I'm below Lenlo's post

Ima Vote Eldrick

His posts seems a little off  - self meta, spammy chat & role spec are no bueno.

Hes starting to feel alittle skittish to me. As an example, immediately after you said you didnt like that post its just "What about it?", barely giving you time to explain why. Hes flooding the thread with, honestly, useless pap.

Beat me to it. I've never played with Eldrick and don't know a thing about his meta, but whenever anybody posts fluff and then goes back to explain why they posted fluff, it trips me. I also am not a big fan of meta-based cases  in general. Anyone can change up a play style and equally, anyone can be having a day where they are distracted and post differently than they would.

So for now, on d1, what I got is that Eldrick seems nervous as a place to start.

LENLO:   I know you don't like to do the work for me.  However, I couldn't find where bold becomes bold which becomes bold?

DPR: Why do you think that dricky is nervous?

1) the lenlo question looks like she's just asking to point out the posts where it happens

2) The question to DPR is anwsered in the post she quoted.

Now there is merit to the fluff posting, once the game starts developing and we get flips.

Who interacted with who in the fluff matters.

Intro phase is the easiest part of the game for wolves to interact.

It probably boils down to who's online at the same time more than anything else.

Doesn't mean you can't derive a lean or two from how people are behaving individually, but any associative read at this point is going to be bleh.

I remember someone last game brought up that BFG might not be a wolf because I trolled amega during joke phase. Yeah no.

I like this post by shad. educational. nice.

I've never played Overwatch

It's been too many months I've forgotten how to D1. Someone help me.

Just make things up as you go. Seems to work out for me most of the time

[v]AJ[/v]

Don't tell me what to do.

Noticed in my reread how overly antagonistic Tink was to AJ's response.

Antagonistic? How is this different from the regular playful fluff that was happening around that time?

I see it as antagonistic because Tiink:

1. asked for the help

2. AJ answered in a joking way, which seems pretty obvious to me and most people on the thread

3. then tiink throws it in AJ's face

1) while i think shad is probably town, i think this post as being a reason for it is weak since it's a post easy to make as a wolf since its more about theory/going about playing.

2) second quote not mafia game relates

3) third comment is just a recap of what tiink did, also i don't think its antagonistic at all, looks to be jokey to me.

Nodded my head along with the first one. Replying to this one.

1) It didn't read to me as a reason to read him. She seemed to just like the post.

3) she wasn't just recapping. She was explaining her stance on thinking the exchange was antagonistic. A view I shared.

No. One more thing first.

Sooh. Game related is wrong, as I mentioned already. Reads related is closer, but what I was really getting at is more akin to solve related.

I didn't get what aj liked in your posts. I discussed the 3 that he said he liked. I don't see your trying to solve the game. I used the term "good" to refer to this.

I understand that, and it feels like just warming up at this point. It doesn't help that I've had to catch up every single time I've been here, and that basically nobody have been around for real time convo.

in b4 tiink comes in and says he was being antagonistic

I see it as the joke it likely was now. I didn't then. It was a very strong response and caught my attention.

I'm reading your case of Wifi, and I see your point of view, but as a townie she'll leap to conclusions and bounce around, and often refer to stuff that she has learned in previous games. I honestly don't see anything scummy in any of her posts, and while they would be easy scum posts to make for basically anyone else, I don't think that relates to Wifi. Wifi is a special kind of player who needs to be read a special kind of way.

I haven't actually taken a good look at her content myself yet. My eyes tend to glaze over multi quote posts and I don't take it all in.

I'll have to ISO her myself today.

Darthe is definitely trying to change his meta, lol. Going with a zander-style catch up is new.

Can be either alignment but that he is deliberately trying to look different kind of looks good for him

Why does trying to look different = looking good? In the last game he talked about his scum tactics in the qt. Trying to play different is null.

Eldrick is town

Anyway - that went a lot deeper than i wanted it to atp. Was hoping to let that read sort of develop more on its own but it is what it is. Ftr I'm not putting Bop on my naughty list and I'm also taking into consideration that he's new here so generic tells are understandable without a baseline to work with.

I'm just paranoid and think too much

>.>

Its been too long since I played with you, I dont remember how aggressive you are.

Btw, is bop making it on peoples naughty lists for being baughty or for being the threatening combo of talented and unfamiliar?

She typically reads me a lot better than she lets herself believe, and not having a feel for me yet isn't bad necessarily, it just fails to woo me with radiant villageriness.

Alright then, so far I can say that the joke phase threw me off a little, especially given last game when you were scum. I'm not sure how to read your joke phase. We did mindmeld over Wifi, so that's good, not that I think necessarily scum Shad would need to hedge on her for a mislynch anyway, but it was a good sign.

Generally I hope to have a better idea when I'm done catching up.

This is an interesting way to come back into the thread, in that it's got a really narrow focus. I wanna watch you some this game sooh

A narrow focus? I made like 10 or 15 posts and you picked one to react to. Sure, a few of them were jokes, but still.

I picked the first. Its a good thing yo

Posted

Sooh, are you caught up?

I think so.

do you have some leans? maybe? if you already did and I missed it, point me to thread page pls

Posted

and not bob is still a wolf

Is this one of those where if you say it often enough it becomes true?
Are you disagreeing here sooh?

I'm not understanding it from the few posts that I've seen, that's what I'm trying to say.

Fair enough, wheres your read stand on nb then?

Posted

As such, I advocate we lynch Tiink today, Lenlo tomorrow, and me and Darthe will Eiffel tower Random to death to end the game.

I call frontside

Posted

Honestly, the DPR/Shad/AJ thing didn't really have much juice and doesn't seem like it's worth me digging into. It's like they're arguing more about the technicalities of the game and the state of mafia and don't actually bother too much about discussing bops or Elds alignments. Guess they've all handled it pretty well but doesn't really say much when the topic isn't primarily to do with this game. I'm gonna stick to unvote vote darthe and head out.

This is not a wolfy post, though I dont like where your heads at

Posted

lol at half the game trying to explain to me how I have to present reads on d1, and then none of them have reads.

lol again at Shat for threatening to lynch me and nobody calling that out as scummish. LOL

A special shout-out goes to Sooh for her reasonable post. It was a breath a fresh air.

Now, on to why Eldrick's play is complete and utter shite:

but I'm feeling like Eldrick has been less active as well.

My lack of activity Wednesday was prior explained. I hung out with my best friend.

I tried to dig into the thread when I got home, but was too tired to focus.

Friday is a busy day for me and I'm typically not on until later (hi).

Go ahead and use that against me though. People using short term lack of activity is seriously scummy, and I will gladly vote you for it if you try to push that angle.

From my perspective, your early posts seemed shaky. I commented on it, bop came to your rescue, then you laid low. My experience is that it's common to see a player talk too much, then pull a vanishing act to mitigate the damage. This is usually followed by questions being put to that player to explain their behavior. A flustered answer usually results in more heat being put on that player, and so on.

Your response is new to me - not because I haven't seen people bullshit before, but because you seem to think I'm going to believe you? I'm not sure if this is a joke or not - seriously - so if it is, please let me know and I'll treat it as such.

Regardless, your logic stream for the rest of the post is jacked - you go from "I've already given the reason why" to "and then this happened" with the "I was tired" thing, all the way to "and now for something completely random" by mentioning how busy you were.

And then, the capper: you polish it off with whining about how I'll probably use it against you. Then you follow in Shat's footsteps with the "I will lynch you" threat.

This entire post is laughable.

I don't believe you. I don't care what your excuses are. Here's a tissue, and vote me all you want. Done and done. Saves time and reading.

FTFM

And here you have to go back and correct your facts. Not that you're nervous or anything...

Ok. Now to Bop.

It's been bugging me that he townread me because of my post count. Thinking about it, most of the posts I made when he gave that read were fluff posts. The number of posts meant diddly.

It really feels like an easy town read on someone. I'm curious why the people that agreed with his read (aj and Sooh I think) did so.

Distancing. Terrible and obvious distancing.

***

And then we fast forward to where you do the same duck & run routine on posts #1108 thru #1111 - I don't know how to link them and my multiquote didn't work for whatever reason. Regardless, you get called out for being "sketchy", you try to explain it off, get called sketchy again and you blame Cloudflare for ditching the thread...

So, even though it's only d1, it seems like you have already created a pattern of disappearing anytime someone calls you out on a post.

To me, this isn't town play. This is awkward scum play.

Hey , why dont I care Bout you at all yet this game? Its an oddity
