You're going to be a learning process in general for me because you tend to make arguments that I personally find highly illogical, but yet you come across as a logic-minded player, and that's my primary shtick so it's how I'm naturally inclined to engage you.  But it's not going to directly get me anywhere.

 

This states what I was basically thinking in a better way.

 

Reading that section again the hang up I'm having is whether I really believe DPR is that thrown off by someone calling his read on Eldrick and subsequent linking bad. I know that he's from a different generation of players and he's commented quite a bit how different things are but the crux of the game is to call out stuff that you think is sketchy and then hold people accountable for their stances.

Looking at #679 again makes me think I should probably reread that entire section a little more carefully since I skimmed a lot during the day at work.

I did see some potential promise in this but he left before I could really fill it out.

 

#774 was kind of blatantly incoherent and I dunno if I should be worried about you not picking up on that or content that neither of us are finding it necessarily wolfy.

His response to you giving insight seemed overly harsh. I don't get why someone would react like that. He commented on how to deal with day 1. You gave your opinion. He jumped on it. It was weird and out of place to me.

 

I took it as nothing more than a joke response to my obvious joke advice.

I do think there could be a legit generational gap between calling things sketchy and simply calling things wrong.

 

As in a player taking the approach of "I'm not going to treat this as wolfy but I think it's wrong" might rub off as a defense rather than a probe to people who aren't used to smooth and gentle frottage prior to the pound.

And that's the most straight forward way of reading it and it's fine.  A lot of what makes him ping me every time he opens his mouth is when he's not being blunt he comes off eloquent at a glance and incoherent if I think it through by the steps he's presenting.

 

I get the impression Shad is focussing on rep more than this game. I say that because we are in d1, barely past (or maybe not even) the shitposting and it would be silly to spec on player's alignments so early because of the high-percentage chance that you'll be wrong.

 

As in he's literally arguing the point that I don't feel focused on the game by noting that I'm making a bunch of reads instead of :???:

 

And I can nitpick verbage with him in lieu of accepting the general "Shad's a try hard" vibe that the post gives off, but that's not going to lead me towards discerning whether his wording has an agenda/thought-process behind it or if he's just a guy who likes to write with a bit of flare but isn't putting any more consideration into it than a blunt poster.

 

Hence my question to him that I don't have high hopes of an answer on.

I certainly disagree with the premise that since it's D1 and info is low that trying to discern alignments is useless. Which again brings up the question of play style or if he's just bullstuffing to discredit you.

 

I'm more interested in where his impression leads in forming a read on you than just arguing the validity of play styles.

thirdly, i think DPR having no read on shad for his back and forth about shad's analysis of DPR's scum play is also awkward(again pages 38-39). Shad comments on his past scum games and DPR makes several comments implying that shad should get a life rather than read people's past games(the comments from DPR telling shad he should get out more rather than read older games). If DPR thinks you might be a wolf trying to post things that look like content that would be one thing but since he isn't really considering your alignment yet, whats the point of his comments other than to antagonize or ruffle feathers, and unless there is some bad blood between the two of you what's the point?

(in my previous post there was a secondly comment about my thoughts on DPR interpreting it differently than others but if he interpretted it correctly or if others thought the same way he did then i don't think it means as much)

I had PoE mixed up with another game in my head.

 

I don't even remember the name of the game I was thinking of. I remember one of the weapon options was a gun. That one of the stats affected chance of double attacking.

 

I remember that I focused on that stat and was double shooting like 50% of the time.

What I'm talking about is more like this:

What's his take away from all that? I can probably assume but what I want to see is the connecting of the dots and follow through otherwise it reads more like he's just deflecting and arguing to counter punch rather than actually try to resolve Shad. It's the progression that matters imo.
