We get very passionate when we care.

 

And I think the best games are the one when the players care about the result and their performance.

 

But ultimately it's a team game, which means that group cohesion is huge and nothing destroys cohesion and drains the interest of other players like having to read long subjective 1v1 arguments that are essentially about nothing. Tunes people out of the game and creates volume that isn't productive [see the chart for how I feel about high-volume, poor thread environment games]

1v1 arguments are rarely about nothing. it's a thinner net, but it has stronger cords.

 

They are usually two biased people with biased perspectives arguing about something [non-alignment indicative] and getting mad that the other doesn't see things exactly as they do. Which people rarely do.

 

If you aren't going to agree about something after 4-5 posts back-and-forth, you aren't going to agree with after 30 posts back-and-forth. Shelve it and if you still feel the player you are arguing with is a wolf, push them again closer to EoD when it actually matters anyway.

I was never specifically talking about you, but you/Lenlo escalated because both of you chose to escalate the situation. It's fine making a post about how you feel and whatever evidence you've provided, but after that let other people talk about other things.

 

The game isn't about you or your read. It's about your team beating the other team.
