So I don't think Calder is a wolf and I kinda doubt that Sili ever is. And I don't want to think that Clov is because I like him and he is really making some good points ITT, especially every time I get suspicious of him.

But that probably means that Clov is the wolf version of Palpatine this game. I really feel like Ima lose to him.

I was Town reading you based off the beginning of your game. You were into it, making some reads asking questions and making points I liked,

I dont have any idea you got that I was Scum reading you from me asking questions.

They seemed more accusatory than information-gathering

She really can't be this bad as scum. She said she has played like 6 games or something.

The problem is she's really not. You're right that she wouldn't typically be this bad as scum - I was thoroughly impressed when I followed her in Hamilton - but she wouldn't typically be this bad as town, either. In both the recent Stargate and South Park games on PerC, she was town and I thought she did very well.

I'm pretty sure she was the town vig in SP and hit scum...twice in three shots? In Stargate, there was just such an obvious conviction to her posts that I had no problem believing them, and I'm pretty sure I didn't agree with everything she said, it wasn't like she was reading a different thread than me...and a different thread from HERSELF from day to day.

I don't know if she's just not comfortable playing here, she's just having a weaker game than normal as either alignment, or those games were outliers.

That bottom quote is part of why I was asking what she thought the setup is. I was her strongest townread for at least a little bit, and Darthe was her strongest mafia candidate. After deadline, she was calling out Zander for being a hypocrite. Today, er mafia candidates are Thane and Sili. Darthe and I are both now 3P candidates, with no indication of there even BEING a third party this game.

So whats your read on Celeste in whole Chris?

I think differently than Celeste. I know that for a fact. But I've always been pretty confident in my ability to see where people are coming from, even if I don't see eye-to-eye on them. Sili and I used to get into it every game until I finally was able to wrap my head around his thought process, and then things clicked. I'm not getting that clicking from her in any way, shape, or form. Then she has those blatant contradictions which just seem completely lacking in town motivation and I don't know how I'm supposed to read her any other way.

I was going to leave the thread but then I saw this. You're a jerk Darthe. Just because you don't understand people or how they play doesn't make them the "worst player you've ever seen". That's just being an asshole. Penny's played more than 6 games, she plays on other sites. Get your head out of your ass.

No, no I will not. If I said she was the worst person I'd ever met that would be a personal attack. That she is terrible at a game isn't cause for someone to run or cry and I absolutely refuse to cater to the outbreak of PC limits in every conversation. If she wants to be less terrible then she will make efforts to do so and until that point I will exactly stand by that opinion as it is grounded in experience and reason.

I think people voicing their concerns about me would actually be great. I'm pretty damn good at figuring out who means what they use to push me and who is lying through their teeth. The extent of concerns I've seen - not just from you, but pretty much in general - is "Clov might be mafia here."

I understand that not everybody who considers that is going to be mafia, but I would expect that anybody that actually is CONCERNED about this would have some sort of reason.

Look at Penny. I went from being her top town read yesterday to being a 3P candidate today for...not dying? Zander keeps making these weak little nudges that I could be a deepwolf because...he thinks I'm a good player, when he hasn't even seen me as mafia in a normal game? I still have no idea what concerns YOU are getting at.

Alanna was straightforward enough to say that my placement in her list was basically POE after feeling good about everybody else. I feel like I've done a pretty good job of showing my thought process and motivation for basically everything I've done this game, so that's kind of a hard pill to swallow, but at least it's an answer.

Yee, I really thought he was the cop. In that context gotta admit what I did was at least clever, if objectively wrong. Kinda the point of "uninformed villager". I took a big risk (dumb) and it didn't pan out at all.

Oh, that game. The timing made me think it was in response to what I said, and I was very confused about who faked a peek and very interested in how you knew what mafia I was misclearing.

Bold - If you mean how to relate this game to her meta, you're right. I am unsure. Liz insisted that Penny wasn't playing how she would as mafia. Based on my incredibly limited experience seeing Penny as mafia, she's not wrong. The issue is it's just as opposite as her town meta as it is her scum meta.

My head tells me that Alanna doesn't AtE Zander of all people as mafia, but at the same time, if Zander's claim here about having had her as a town read is true I find it really strange that she would genuinely think he's mafia reading her if she's re-reading his posts. I know she specifically said IRT to Celeste, but I dunno....

So like I said Clov, I respect you a lot as a player and I give you appropriate wariness. A post like this, to me, reads as " I see x and y and its odd and here's a fallacy and this happened and it all points in this direction but I'm not going to push that anyhow". You held back from it after providing plenty of reasons (I think you could have done those stronger as well ftr) that seem to lead in that direction and it just seems like posturing, like you didn't want to be the one to run with the concept and like you wanted to distance from the idea as you pushed it.

So that's reading too much into a post but it's the sort of thing I just over-explained to show why I occasionally get anxious about your slot.
