With that in mind the implication is that you are no longer VT.

I believe soft claiming, hinting, breadcrumbing, etc is either always scummy or ineffective.

You have to assume while doing these things (as town) that the people you don't want to catch on will catch on which 99% of the time defeats the entire purpose in the first place.

And that other 1% is very rarely worth the risk in the first place.

 

As scum...well it's obvious why scum would want townies to think they have a role.

Like, I'm not sure I buy the whole "No just make them claim immediately" thing when we have an unclaimed doctor most likely is what I'm trying to say

I personally ignore soft claims. They are one of 3 things.

 

1. A VT thing to draw a kill.

2. An actual power role setting up a reveal if necessary in the future.

3. Scum trying to appear town.

 

2 of these 3 scenarios are town, and going after someone for this reason alone isn't towny.
