Calder is wolfy and smug like that in real life too.

He's pretty much the smuggest person in the world.

That's impressive as I know some pretty smug people around these parts and some wolfy ones....lololololololol.

The biggest thing holding me back from a full commitment to Nolder being scum is that I've seen this sort of disconnect out of him in non-game-related debates. A part of it is really just his authentic thought process, and that makes it difficult to pinpoint his motivation.

Wouldn't stop a lynch on him tomorrow as things stand though. I feel pretty strongly that AJ or Pizza should be peeked tonight, and I'm going with one of those slots if I am the cop. I do recognize that they are high-value night kill targets, but they can't both get shot tonight and they are the two most important players to mechanically resolve by means other than a lynch in this game imo.

I'm an utterly terrible N1 peek. Godawful.

Maybe.  My impression from our short time together is that you are probably an incredibly capable scum player who will eagerly take the reigns and lead town to its demise.  I would put you in the Cory/Clov/Yates club.  And while at least with Clov and Yates I have a ton of town meta to work with, Cory was able to completely crush my soul when he was scum in our first (real) game together because I underestimated him and didn't have any memory access to the more subtle reasons that should have made me suspicious of him.  Resolving you removes an enormous layer of fog from my vision.  It also runs a high risk of wasting a peek.

That's the point.

Don't do me night one, or EVER. Lynch me blind if I'm alive at day four.

Posted

I don't need the cop to assist with my solve, but I'm not going to turn down assistance to look at some of the folks I can't read, or more to the point, increase the murder equity of townies who are not town telling.

I'm town-telling and I'm also a high risk of being murdered. Don't ever scan me this game. I will take my punishment like a boss if I don't wreck this game.

Posted

I know that was a big reaction, but you don't scan the people who are already going to be murdered this game.

I guarantee, flat out, I will eat a murder this game. Absolutely 100% guaranteed.

Pizza lets talk

I'm busy at the moment. You tell me what the topic is, though.

Well some reads is what I'm looking for from you.  Then I'd like to talk about that.  But youre currently busy so I'll ask this.  Why are you SO concerned with Thane.  Obv I know he's not been posting but you seem like you bothered by that slot on that fact alone.  Yet there are other low posters who look scummy (Tab) and others who are posting more and still look scummy.

re: Die Hard

If you think that's bad, I've never even seen Batman.

Which one...?

How about you Nol? Do you need another 20 pages to put on your makeup before you join the big kids, or we going to kick this off?

I'm feeling slow. Haven't played in a couple months so I'll let others take the lead for the time being.

For the time being is still extending pretty long here Nol.

Well this got awkward.

AJ, you got my back? Ready to take this game by storm?

I am the storm :jordan:

I've yet to see this at all from AJ.

So after I mentioned that your EoD actions bothered me,  you post that only Scum!Zander would start start building a case against.  I really really don't like that statement.  Because you know if I think someone's scummy or does something off I'm going to be looking into it.

FWIW- Snow wasn't the guaranteed lynch atp.  I was and am more concerned with the fact you wanted no part lynching Tab who was by far the better option.  You didn't even seem interested in my case on her.

I'm extremely irritated but 2 things.wrong with what you said here:  1st I didn't lynch a townie you did.  2nd John wasn't at all one of my stronger town reads. I thought there was a chance he might scum.  But I brought up why I didnt want to vote him atp and my case on Tab is solid.  Her and Nolder were far better lynches imo.

I think it's a matter of degrees.  I think scum!Zander digs deeper sooner, because he sees a potential mislynch where there had once been a necessary night kill, whereas town!Zander has a lot more to chew on because all of a sudden someone he had felt pretty good about is behaving very differently.  You called out what you found terrible in the moment, but you didn't dive into building a case out of it.  It's a situation where timing matters, and your reaction in the immediate aftermath indicates town.

I didn't join the Tab wagon for the reasons I'd been stating all along--I was null on her whereas Snow and Nolder had both done things I found scummy.  I can tell you this about Tab: inconsistency in her thought process doesn't phase me one bit.  If anything, I would be concerned if she felt too consistent.  But her level of engagement is a potential issue, and the consequence is that I still have her as null whereas in Diablo I was willing to drop a fake peek on her at the start of D2.

Snow opened the game with tremendous enthusiasm--which I liked--but it didn't match up to dropping his vote for a very rudimentary reason in the wake of the content volume he'd been initially demanding.  I got the feeling that he might have staged his traditional town opener for cred and then felt safe to dip out until D2.  Nolder has felt scummy to me for much more blatant reasons, but I feel like his attitude is very different from when I saw him as scum, and that was enough to make me place him on the same level as Snow rather than below come EoD.  I didn't care which of those two got lynched.  I didn't particularly care if Tab got lynched, either, but I wasn't going to support it with my vote.  I do recognize that my lack of full commitment to a particular candidate is different from most of my previous games (probably the last game where I was this wishy-wash was Pulp Fiction, which doesn't do me any favors).  I think this has a lot to do with subbing in and not having much of an opportunity to directly engage people before EoD.  But make what you will of it.

They'll definitely be on the block for D2 imo

Sorry I've been scarce. I was a bit irritated after the reveal yesterday so I just spent my time putting in more work on the house. I have quite a bit of reading to do whenever I find the time but that'll have to wait for tonight

This is hands-down the most 'scarce' game I have seen you in.  :\

Humor me please?

AJ took Nolder out of the picture by ensuring Tab would have four votes if Snow doesn't go down. I'm torn between Nolder and Snow but I would lynch either of them over Tab, so Snow it is.

So in theory if I switched to Nolder you'd vote there?

No. In reality I have no clue who I want to lynch but AJ made the decision easy for me.

You put snow on the same level as Nolder, but you wouldnt vote Nolder? Whats with that Shad?

Posted

Shad answer me this, have you ever bussed a teammate before?  If so who and what game?

Kivam, Pulp Fiction.

I also accidentally bussed a team mate on VS once, but we didn't know he was one of us.  <_<

Nolder is awesome. It's such a shame he's mafia this time.

Vote: Nolder

What made you choose Nolder here.  It seems like a joke vote but then you proceeded to build your case on him.  Seems strange to me.

I can't recall ever seeing Dice be a townie. But then again I am probably forgetting one game.

This game, I think Dice is pretty solidly townie. It's in his tone and sense of humor. I sense something good here.

This post is also very strange.  Can't quite put my finger on it.....

Ya i completely agree here but do you feel its alignment indicative of him?

@ Zander I'm doing more than reads right now. I've got Sooh at home who wants my attention and I'm sitting here for four hours doing a full re-read of the game and individually. I probably won't get a chance to finish this, which sucks as it is likely my last night alive, but if it is not, I still want to get it right.

I'm concerned with putting pressure on Thane and not giving his slot a pass, in principle and in this specific case.

However, there's not much I can do with that slot right now, given the fact that there are only limited reactions I've been able to generate suggesting his death. Some are in favor, but it's not likely to happen, so it isn't that meaningful.

I believe if he's scum or townie the reactions will have been similar, given how the game has unfolded. I wasn't successful in getting a read off of his slot based on pressuring it.

Finally, there is a certain amount of pressure and certainty I exhibit in order to inflict pressure, and not all of it is straightforward, sometimes I have an agenda behind it which is to put more into a mild scum read or to simply generate reactions, which is largely why I pressured the slot today.

I think Thane will be replaced out, based on what I've seen. That's probably the best thing to happen. I may not be around to talk to his replacement, but for now I can say the slot is null and that I don't really have any further intentions to pressure it.

Zander, I'm a townie and you'd be better off not tinfoiling me right now.

And you're being sloppy here. If you look I had already cased out Nolder by reading his other games. The vote preceeded the posted reasons, because sometimes that's how I roll. It's not indicative of anything.

Zander, brother: I am going to be murdered this game. No offense, but go away.

Still love you man. (hugs)
