We get this a lot in MN! Extreme weather is normal up here.

I've seen bigger hail, like grapefruit size. It's scary! Tornadoes too. I try to stay inside and park in parking garage!

It's just weird that it's happening all over at the same time. Isn't Australia in summer?

Lol, Rhea, I wouldn't be surprised by any of your harsh weather. Hail can do a lot of damage.

I think they are in spring right now.

I don't think it's too odd, the spring/fall weather patterns can be pretty similar.

I would like to keep the hail damage to a minimum though!

Exactly! Of all the things mother nature can throw at me, the worse so far has been hail! And I used to live in California with earthquakes! Maybe I've been lucky.

Bad thunderstorms can bring hail even in hot weather, as I understand it.

My new-to-me car has some minor hail damage on the roof from a hail storm in Kentucky a few years ago.

Hail the size of tennis balls or grapefruit . . . either is big enough to kill a person.  Scary stuff!

We're having the worst drought in decades here. One town has had the highest recorded temperature in the country ever, the other day, and it's not even officially summer yet!

That has to be awful, especially in Africa. Wells have been going dry but we have been promised rain this winter.

Hail is typically a summer thing, it happens in the very hottest days.

Don't ever make the mistake of stepping outside to measure a hailstone during the storm. That's gonna leave a mark.

The truth is, we got off pretty easy in the midwest this fall.
