I mean I get that your vote isn't necessary since we've had such large majorities so far but that's kind of besides the point. By playing the way you have you provided cover for mafia. I try Nolder. I wasn't on a lot during the weekend. The way Calder was handled took me completely by surprise. EOD was simply confusing with votes being cast left and right.

 

I do think Hallia is a good way to go here.

 

Also, during the week, i should be able to stay more or less in touch with the game, depending on how work is going.

 

Nolder, if you don't mind me asking... you wolf? I haven't been able to completely clear you from what i've seen. (You can tell me to pay more attention, true, but i can't shake the feeling you wouldn't flip town here)

Okay so I looked at Shad's posts. A couple of things of interest. He came into D2 voting Calder (about a day before Calder started to get pressure).... which was to be expected considering their D1 exchanges. So overall null.

 

Calder started getting heat, reacted badly and played dumb (:P). From what I can see, Shad mostly stayed at the sidelines of the push. He posted exactly three times between the time Calder started getting heat till until he was lynched. Which I find... yeah, a bit odd. Yes, he was voting him. But it was, like I said, way before he started gaining votes. I don't like that he didn't take a more active part in the whole thing, considering Calder was his number one scum read. And there was a lot of new content coming from Calder's direction. Albeit, dimwitted in retrospect. Instead I feel like Clov and I sort of took the reigns there, and Shad was off god knows where.

I'm for shortening the DL. I think Thane not voting is pretty typical Thane. He did say at some point D1 that he thought there was scum between Crusher and Kivam.  I don't think he forgot this at EoD though.  He said the trains looked too easy, started encouraging  people to peel off onto Hallia or Nolder.  Town!Thane has sort of unwavering commitment to his gut and if his gut was telling him "too easy" then this is what I think he would do.  I think hopping onto Crusher when it was technically tied but pretty much a sealed deal might have looked worse for him tbh.  His comments about AJ are... strange. 

 

AJ has been making pretty solid sense to me today.  He's my deep wolf candidate and I've been reading him closely.  I got hung up on "I guess I can't fault you too much for that statement, if you're being genuine. I sort of voted the same way thinking I could pin scumShad with a townCrusher flip" when I had a couple beers in me last night because my brain first took it as really awkward justification leading to a sort of 'I voted my weaker read' conclusion.  But that's a silly interpretation.  He was sussing both of us as far as I can tell and I think he's saying 'I didn't think Shad's flip would tell me much about Crusher but Crusher's flip might tell me something about Shad.'  His wording in the post lacked caution, and I kind of want to take that as a slight town tell.

 

Hallia was kind of boxed in to not voting me.  I don't think her push on Dice had a shot in hell of drawing votes off either train.  I was initially thinking scum!Hallia might have tried for Nolder instead but in retrospect I think the only person who might have budged off the trains was Nolder.  So I don't really think pulling votes was an option there.  Hallia and Thane are both players who kind of do their own thing and have a tendency to miss out on scum wagons.  Going for Dice could be quite honest.  Switching to scum after people aren't buying the Dice argument?  eeeeeeh, she did lynch scum.  She could have peaced out for the night on Dice.  I'm kind of mixed and need to see more out of her.

 

Nolder and Laine I need to take another look at yet.  I don't think Nolder and Hallia can be team mates in this game but I'm pretty confident we've already caught our second scum anyway.

I don't know, Belichick I was super convinced she was town again until PoE made me take a harder look at her and it all clicked at once.

 

 

Gives out reads about some of the other players. Doesn't seem to acknowledge what's going on with Calder at all. Sort of hedging on Halli here (he was doing something similar in some of his previous posts, when talking about Hallia. Could be something there).

Off the top of my head, this doesn't seem right for anything between the two of them.  I think tit's probably correct because I don't see Nolder being viable mafia, but I'm struggling to come up with anything between him and Hallia to prevent it.  Did you have something in mind?

 

 

He came out today wtl her or Thane, and that was before Calder became a hot topic.  I don't expect scum who lost a team mate D1 to immediately create a scenario where he has to vote the second one, especially when she's already got two votes on her and looks like a real lynch possibility.  For that matter Thane/Nolder wouldn't make much sense either.

 

 

Admits that Calder became a hot topic... but again... strange that he doesn't feel the need to comment on the new developments. Like, at all. 

 

 

 

 

There is something Calder could do that would make me consider not lynching him just yet.

Morning!  I didn't see a reason to comment on Calder's posts yesterday.  You all knew where I stood with him and he was getting lynched.  Flip breaks my pretty awesome no town lynches streak but whatever.

 

To the bottom question, Calder made two posts yesterday that struck me at the time:

 

It all boils down to i lead a lynch on a person and current evidence makes it seem i was wrong. There is nothing i can defend about that. I own my role in the lynch train that i drove. Plus i also won't suggest that it would make any sense to lynch him before me. You would def lynch me first if you have to resolve this Calder/Shad thing. Bc the other way around runs the risk of two days used to kill two town.

This made no sense to me.  It sounded like he was saying his flip cleared me.

 

Thank you (and also Nolder). None of that is scummy. That is why its impressive on Clov's part. It is going to genuinely work for at least a phase or two. He wont win off of it, but he drags a lost game out with an impressive scum performance. I really like it.

 

Also I peeked Shad last night. Clean as a baby's bottom.

 

And then three hours later he said this.  I was probably who cop!Calder would have peeked given D1 and I didn't think VT!Calder would claim me as a fake peek for all he'd been sussing me.  The fact that he seemed to take it for granted in the first post before outright stating a peek later made me think it was possibly for real.  The alternative was mafia; didn't think VT fit this picture.

 

But he never gave an N0 peek, or anything that we could possibly have interpreted as one.  The real cop is not going to forget that he had an N0 peek and I wasn't going to deny the save move by pointing this out to him or provide scum!Calder with opportunities to draw out the real cop.  I figured he would either volunteer his N0 peek sooner or later or else he was confirmed scum.  If he'd showed up unprompted with one eventually I would have heavily considered lynching someone else and seeing if he ate the night kill.

 

I'm pretty happy about where we're at though.  I have to check whether the AJ faking a scum peek of Hallia thing adds up.  I didn't catch it at the time.  If it does/she flips scum then Thane is super clear.  If the real cop has viewed enough living town at that point then we've solved the game.  I have a lot to reevaluate knowing that AJ is town.

 

Fwiw I'm not the cop but my N0 peek was Nyn and I viewed the bus boss Kivam N1.  I viewed AJ last night.  That was a waste.  Wasn't too concerned about dying before in spite of the D1 train but it's high time I got this on record.

Alright, reading AJ's D2 I would never assume he viewed Hallia scum if he flipped cop.

 

But I might expect him to view Hallia N2.  Scum damage mitigation?  Only if Thane and Zander are town.

 

As in these two are lock clear in my book if Hallia flips dirty.

We will see, Shad. I would really like to see a Hallia flip at this point in the game. Not only to see if the running theories are correct, but it would also diminish the pool of suspects, so we can focus elsewhere.

My reads haven't changed much throughout the game, you can say they're about the same.

I'm both annoyed at Calder (for not trying harder to prove he was town) and at everybody else for simply going with it. I'd hope that the more experienced players in here would see what had happened and would go "Hey, wait a sec. After Crusher, this seems just waaaayyy too easy"
