Hybrid Hammer and Deadlines

Everyone should be aware of when cloudfare hits for them, and plan accordingly. As I mentioned, we don't have to wait all the way to DL to lynch.

Cloud flare has, until tonight, lasted up to six hours for the past week. There's no planning for that. Hopefully it's getting fixed but if not, it's an act of God and like it or not, people playing a game have the right to expect the full day of night to plan and do their actions.

 

What you might have gotten from this thread was that players use the time they gave to assess and reassess, and if that's not something you like it's an unfortunate thing you have to deal with to play with those to whom it is a thing.

 

We can't just make people act the way we want them to because we dont get their motivations.

 

It's like there's a nightly flood or fire or earthquake and you just have to deal with it.

It should be fixed now and back to the daily 3 min cloudflare.

^ It might still be a PITA, though.  We have a workaround in place,  but our systems are kinda old and not really supported anymore.  We're looking into the best method to upgrade/bandaid, but hopefully the current workaround mitigates the problem somewhat.

No, but we can set the rules to incentivize behavior we find desirable.  Or just work around it.  I don't like the way people tend to act in hybrid hammer games and as a result, I will not be modding any such games.  I will also probably be limiting the number of hybrid hammer games that I play.

I've disliked it since it was proposed and disliked it every time I've seen it in play but that's a personal opinion of someone who'll never sign up regardless of hammer. I think the rules used to incentivize behavior better but players didn't like them so... Eh, it's good to change things up anyway.
