The redundant one. haha.

Darthe: analysis? Pssshhhh, more like "sleep deprived mess"

I'm just going to look at them separately, I suppose.

*TurinTHANE: All fluff, maybe a line or two of him agreeing to a statement or questioning why but no followups, but out of 42 posts and 55 pages, I would hope to get at least a feel of your reads. All I can really get from his posts is that he didn't like Csarmi's claim, doesn't know what to do about the Durin/Dice situation or Darthe in general, Seph is bad or wolfy, and that the wolves are slacking. Seems like a lazy day to go about day 1

Did not clarify what was off about the Sooh/Heart/Leelou/Laine- thing in this post, even though he mentioned coming back to it after Sooh appeared.

*fixed name error

Verbal: most of his interactions seem to be with his town reads, namely Dice, Eldrick, Csarmi, Yates, Sili, Leelou

But I don't really see him putting pressure anywhere like he should be doing on D1, except for a comment to Darthe about his posting towards Seph.

And I find it odd that Seph has taken up half of this day (Durin/Dice) the other half, but it's not really mentioned at all.

He did go so far to call Dice an obvious townie, but I don't see much speculation on the main topics from today

I do like his read on Dice, and Eldrick

Overall, not getting much from either of them, I don't see them actively trying to game solve Day 1.

Verbal confirmed jealous of Sooh.

@Verb - got Leelou read yet?

heh

Very light village - she jumped in and her initial posts appear to show she is paying attention.  And she reached out to me with a greeting early on that didn't seem forced.  Me likey so far.

Would Verbal know when Leelou is mafia?

@Darthe

We're not in trouble.  I have some solid villager reads right now, and I doubt I'm wrong on more than 1 of them (if any).  This means lynching from the rest is ok by me for now, until potential NKs in my village pool make me need to add more players to it.

I'm ok with this approach for D1/D2, btw.

What are your solid town reads?

Dice

Eldrick

Salami*

Yates

Sili

Leelou

Durin*

* the only ones I could waffle on a bit - there is no way they are w/w, though.....which means definitely 1 of them is a villager, but I think both right now.  So when I said I'm not wrong on more than 1, I was thinking of these 2 in my head.

Meh

Hi Shad, nice to meet you

no, unfortunately, i'm not a wolf. This was really a game where i WANTED to be a bad guy (because, Star Wars bad guys rock  ) I'm a tad disappointed, in fact...

Anyways.. from what i've been reading, there are only a few people actively engaged in the thread. Will be looking forward to see everybody active in this game, slacking wolves are hard to get early in the game.

Says the one who, combined with his hydra still has less posts than me.

Thane in perpetual catch up mode from this point on

ok... i'll see where the attention flipped on her while reading through the pages left (i'm on 50 now). Should make for an interesting read, that.

as for the lots of posting, i h8 you all for that. I thought and hoped this game wouldn't be THAT active....

This was in reference to Csarmi saying that Leelou was lynched. Thane is only on page 50. I'm pretty sure Heart and Shad were voting Leelou at this point, and she wasn't really getting that much pressure, other than my trouble with her page 15 and putting her in my scum leans list.

yes.. *hands one*

some impressions: Good catch on Leelou. Currently page 90ish, and so far i had no clue on her. Trying to make sense of EOD, but it's really a mingling of votes and people all around. It's going to be madness for me to make any sense out of that. *nudges Verbal* Some help would be nice?

Another fluff post, unfortunately it doesn't sound genuine at all.

ok... people appearantly said that Heart is town when Leelou flips wolf... still the case?

If he's been reading the thread, he should make his own resolutions, because he certainly hasn't contributed much thus far.

Overall on Verbal/Thane, I don't see them actively contributing to the thread and both completely missed EoD and are both behind on the thread. I would expect that out of two people, at least one would be caught up (example: Andrej/Wombat, Darthe/Turin)

IF we're going to lynch all hydras, I would start here, but maybe I'll give them the benefit of the doubt to catch up first. Still staying in my scum reads.

Oh god I love that movie.

DMers in general, meta is bull a lot of the time, and it's subjective

As for me, I played Middle Earth as my first game coming back to the site. I was mafia; my activity was really low and I basically sucked the entire game and only survived because Andrej was boss on the team

Then you have Alien, Mass Effect, and this game: I'm active, really scum hunting, and all around doing a pretty swell job (imo). And surprisingly getting town read a lot which used to never be the case for me.

So, I can assume, that if I start slacking and being any less active than I'm being in my town games, and not hunting at my optimal level, I'm probably going to get lynched regardless of my alignment because of that. Is that not true?

Just a couple quick things about that post, Laine.

1) Town!Verbal would probably be able to get a pretty solid read on Leelou, assuming she was active.  Based on her ISO, I would think there would be enough there for him to get a decent feel on.  I say probably because I don't expect him to nail it 100% of the time, but I'd think he'd be right more than he's wrong.

2) You're right Thane SHOULD make his own conclusions, but I think you're reaching for pressing him on that last quote.  If somebody said that Leelou flipping mafia would clear Heart, and they're NOT clearing Heart right now, that should probably set off some sort of alarms.  That post could serve as a way of following up with people.

1: I also find it suspicious that people use Verbal to read Leelou, when if they were mafia together, they would probably town read each other. I understand he can be wrong, but I think I could have learned more if he was on the thread at eod when this was going down

2. I may be reaching, but I also don't like the amount of fluff that's been there all game day. He's a strong player, he could at least be caught up on thread. If he's been reading the thread like he said he'd be doing, he would observe that Heart has been at the bottom of Leelou's list all day and was the other WTL for some people. Sure, she's basically clear because of that, besides defending my lynch train (again, biased)

Can you not see how that is crappy? Especially with only one mafia game here so far.. and my old games are outdated. oh well, I volunteer to be perpetual town I suppose

Oh FFS...I'm never playing on my phone again.

Was going to reply to that second paragraph. Again, I'm pretty much with you irt Thane. I just don't see how that post suggests he's not following along or shows a bad grasp on the thread. I took it as an opening for discussion on people's adjustments on Heart

Yeah try almost getting lynched while on your phone and not able to respond

I suppose you're right

I had a slight town read of verbal, so if i'm making a uninformed choice on lee i guess i'm going to trust him to know best.

Yates reads is one of the things I like it. Totally out of left field and understandable to have a negative read on

Just based on a quick skim of his reads, and I don't think any of his are particularly out of left field. Town on Csarmi and Seph, null on Notbob and maybe Shad, mafia on you (well Turin, more accurately). None of those look so far off they jump out to me.

The only thing that really stood out was a seeming town read on Zander and then supporting Talya's "case" on Zander (IRT Csarmi's claim). I don't feel strongly about Talya's post at all, other than there's no reason NOT to discuss the claim, I suppose. So it's kinda off that Yates would suddenly change his tune on Zander?

I meant reading Yates as a wolf was out of left field

There were several posts iirc of Heart's that she posted to clear up Clov's confusion. I don't see mafia both trying to diffuse a townie lynch train AND staying on a scum partners.

I did half of that. Do I get any botd? :(
What is this post?
Begging for town credit, surprisingly much more likely to come from a townie who feels underappreciated

I know I'm unlikely to get it, and I know in the scheme of things it doesn't really matter. *shrug*

Does to me. Look where you are in my reads

Lol Darthe, Csarmi brought it back up earlier. I don't ACTUALLY want to lynch all hydras, but if I feel like doing so, I'm starting with Verbane, then Womdrej, lastly Durin.

Probably but it's not an issue most of the time. Generally we are more nuanced and intelligent than to judge someone solely on activity. Don't ask about sili.
