CLEAR MY GOOD NAME AND APOLOGIZE TO ME DARTHE

 

 

1) Aiel Heart was away from keyboard most of this game. I created every claim and every excuse not to lynch her the day we lynched Sooh, even though she was consensus wolf by everyone, and had a leans list with zero wolves on it and named me as the only wolf soon after.

I did everything in my power to save her from being lynched. I distanced from her, yes, but I never bussed her, or Hallia, or Tina.

I did everything in my power to prevent her from making a bad claim, and advised against her claiming vigilante. Its all in the wolf chat.


I was NOTHING but a stand-up guy for my teammate Aiel Heart. I said nothing bad to her and tried to have her with me at the end.



2) I told my entire team that bussing Tina wouldn't work. I advised against it all round, it doesn't save them from being nightkilled from the other team.


3) I asked my team to consult with me before claiming roles. Hallia claiming bodyguard I felt was negative EV for my team since there's no reason that role survives to endgame.

I tried to avoid us painting ourselves into a corner. All game.

Hallia was great, Tina was great, AH was great. But I did everything I could, behind the scenes, to keep them alive. Distance from them publicly, keep the lynch off of them.



FACT: THESE ARE NOT THE ACTIONS OF A TEAM SABOTEUR.



Next, let us discuss my gambit.

I had fooled the entire town into thinking I was what I said I was. Even as I pushed EP to death, he continued to townread me.

I couldn't get him lynched over Aiel Heart. I tried very hard. I said Sooh was a wolf but I only pushed her when EP wasn't being lynched.

Then, when that was done, my objective was complete: Aiel Heart survived the lynch.

And village didn't have the numbers to continue resisting if we could get the opposing team to murder a townie, and we murdered one of them.

I breadcrumbed publicly (%) where I was saying for village to not get mad at me postgame for the gambit I was about to pull.

I left it cryptic.

Then, once the lynch was done, I fake-claimed wolf (as wolf) to tell the opposing scum team we were defeated (we weren't) and told them I'd give them a list of safe targets.

If they shot into those targets, and we shot one of them, we'd have the score evened up.

And village would still be sunk.

It was a COME FROM BEHIND GO FOR THE WIN MANUEVER.

And if successful, would put us in contention, and BEFORE NIGHT WAS OVER, I would have un-claimed the wolf claim.

Pointed at the breadcrumb.

And said ha ha, I'm a villager. I fooled you silly wolves. Now it's payback time for killing all those villagers.

And I would have claimed two guilty scans on people I thought were the opposing team.

We would have got them lynched, it would have been 3-to-2 with a defeated village.

That would have won the game.

I laid out the crumbs, and I SAID IN THE WOLF CHAT WHAT I WAS DOING


AND I WAS MODKILLED ANYWAY BECAUSE THE MOD DIDN'T READ IT

And I don't see my good name being cleared after I responded to him with THIS:

You decided in my game to make a claim that allowed you to subvert the game mechanics by openly working with a faction you were opposed to.  In the process you revealed that one of your teammates was fake claiming and that you were mafia.  Every bit of that goes directly against the integrity of the game and is an abuse of how multi-ball mechanics are inherently set up, no better than vote manipulation or private messaging.  It's subversion.  

 

You then spent the next several days badgering me, attempting to guilt me and tossing out petty spiteful remarks anytime that we were in chats together.  

 

You also conversed about my game WITH ANOTHER LIVING PLAYER in Leelou without letting me know about it, not to mention your conversations with Sooh.

 

Through every bit of this I have been kind with you and told you that if I felt that I was wrong in the matter I would award your team a draw and that regardless I would make it clear post game that you were not attempting to screw this game up.  I even went so far as to spend my time PMing moderators from other websites to get outside opinions on whether or not my decision was justified and have been waiting for Verbal to return to check with him.  I have done everything in my power to advocate for you as a person and as a player because I have recognized how much you are and how willing you have been to advocate for your team.  Post 4129 shows that.

 

Do not mistake my kindness for softness.  I am not an ounce apologetic for my decision and I am not remotely sorry to you.  YOU made a mistake that could have ended this game had I not been able and swiftly act on it.  YOU took actions that resulted in what could at best be measured as a moral gray area in mafia games and YOU are unwilling to accept that because of it your team was negatively affected.  I have spoken with three moderators about this and a host of players who you unfortunately drug into this and have thus far only been told that others would have acted the same.

 

Furthermore, I'll be damned if I am going to be told that I didn't advocate for you after the amount of work that I have put into every bit of this.  Take your pity story elsewhere and maybe you'll find someone who believes it.  

 

Oh, and next time I discover that you're sending messages to people about private matters between a moderator and a player, regardless of forum or my relationship to the ongoing game, I'll be pushing for your permanent ban on that website.

My team was never losing this game until your modkill.

 

You allowed yourself to police strategic decisions and bluffs by the wolf team in your game, when it was not against the rules you listed.

 

You modkilled a person who broke no rule and destroyed the team they were on, single-handedly.

 

You made an incorrect call. My team suffered for it, and all I ever wanted was for you to apologize, and award them a No Contest for your mistake.

 

At no point was my maneuver hurting my team. At all. The player in question I distanced from survived the game. None of that even matters.

 

You failed to clear my good name as you said you would in the Skype. You said you'd clear my good name. You failed.

 

I talk to sooh as a matter of course and she was DEAD when I brought this up.

 

I spoke to Leelou because SHE contacted ME and asked about it, and your wrong decision was going to cost me entering Her game.

I thought a town vig would have given the town too much swing.  I had hopes that the 2/3 NK rule would even things out but tbh it just slowed down the game.  However, there is a new role I just found out about that would have been perfect.

 

It's like a vig/cop combo.  You select two players and if they are the same alignment neither die, however if they are a different alignment then the one you select first dies.  That could be fitting here.  I think town would have had a very different game had Yates not died N1 or had Krak submitted nightly but overall it was probably a bit biased against town.

The big issue that town faced this game is there was little-to-no mafia/mafia violence.  The two teams could not win with each other, so they had plenty of motivation to actively scum hunt (in addition to the added benefit of using it to blend in as townies, themselves).  I won't say this didn't happen because it would be unfair to some pretty solid play this game, but I would have expected that at least one faction would use their kill in a more vig-esque manner.  The winning team not losing anyone to lynch, and nobody even really being on the block at all - unless I'm mistaken - didn't help, either.

 

It's also worth noting that town's most powerful role was lynched D1, and Verbal lost his gladiator match against Pizza on D2.  Both abilities could have swung this game in town's favor.

Arguably though you should account for swing in balance.  I think if I was going to tweak one or two things about this setup it would be to change the gladiator to whatever you want to call the role I posted in 4171 or I might make the mason team a 3 man mason team.  After all, once the masons are outted that one role can use them to essentially make itself a cop that auto-vigs wolves.
