Town had an item that could have boosted a role and the odds of said role connecting with said item were slim.  Town had an all town lover pair.  There is potentially a survivor.  The only other claimed PR is a lover (really weak PR tbh) and mafia is confirmed to have had a thief or 1x evil priest.  

 

Alanna is a good mod.  This will be balanced so what is missing?  Are both teams really weak?  A 2 person mafia team would be quite a twist but putting hopes in that would be beyond dumb.

I did forget the vig shot.  That evens things out a bit more but still seems... unfavorable for town.  A lot of opportunities for negative utility unless town has a phenomenal game.

It's worth noting that the lovers (AJ and Lily) were basically straight negative utility.  Unlike traditional lovers, they didn't know who each other were, so either could have ended up getting the other - and consequently themself - lynched.  Even if one found the other, they weren't allowed to communicate, and the "finding" didn't go both ways.  

 

So it's possible that both town and mafia were relatively weak.  But just based on the fact there are a total of six claimed/confirmed town abilities, out of presumably 10/11, makes me question Leelou's claim.  I suppose technically MrsClov could be a scum vig, but Lily didn't make much sense as a scumkill, and I don't see Cass getting shot as soon as she subbed in.  And her claiming the shot would be pretty bold (read: stupid).  So I'm not going to waste my time tinfoiling on that.

And there is the switching sides thing. He doesn't seem to be in that mindset now, but he could easily change if it's clear mafia is going to win.

Yeah, if he's telling the truth, I expect him to hammer the minute somebody - anybody - gets to five.  If it's mafia, yay, he helped.  If it's town, yay, he basically just won.

 

Don't take that personally, Dice.  That'd just be you playing to your WC, and we'd be foolish not to acknowledge the possibility.

The only issue I see with the switching sides thing is that he likely doesn't have any more knowledge than town as to scum is. So, I don't really think he can actively decide to help scum.

Fair enough, but like Clov just said, he doesn't really need to. Any time it gets to L-1, he could jump on and hope for a win.

I have a hard time thinking he's scum, and would probably put him pretty far down on my list of people to vote for, unless some game-turning evidence popped up against him.

He could also hold a deal with the mafia to not vote today and let them NK to victory but that'd maybe get him booted for cheating.

Yes, and no.  His activity would be hard to maintain as scum, and his broken logic aside, I've actually agreed with him on a lot of things.  I liked that he tried to start a counterwagon on one of my top suspects when Barm was getting voted.  If YOU are town, I see no reason that mafia would deliberately avoid two competing town wagons to make a third, so he would basically be confirmed for me.  

 

Him fighting the Leelou test doesn't look bad to me, either.

True. I hadn't considered that possibility. As of right now I'm still okay with letting him try to help us.

I didn't say you were doing that, I said I expect you to do that.  I honestly don't think Thane is getting lynched today.

 

And you also can't sneaky hammer when everybody knows you're not town and have no reason to sit on a vote.
