BTW, any feedback about the game is much appreciated - setup, rules, flavor, etc. I had a lot of fun modding this one, guys, even though there were some trying times lol. I hope you all enjoyed playing :)

We came about 2 inches to victory.

If A) I had convinced leelou or Darthe I was about to die, we'd win

and B) if Mrs. Clov had gotten back earlier, we'd win

I wouldn't have unlynched you. I didn't believe you. Had you laid it all out there from the start I wouldn't have put my vote on you in the first place. Or evenjust left it at being a healer.

Sili and I posted 1141 of the 2741 posts in this game.  That's crazy.

Turns out you're a pretty good player. Respect.

Ditto Sili, we got a late start but when you and I were on the same page it was pretty awesome.

Thanks for a fun game, Alanna. The flavor was awesome!

One suggestion, maybe? When you tie roles so closely to characters [Nimue has Excalibur/Merlin is a Sorcerer] you risk the game breaking towards the end. Look at how Darthe and Sili arrived at the scum team. It wasn't based on in game play. It was based on role POE. One way to prevent this from occurring while maintaining flavor is to randomize roles and characters. King Arthur could be VT/BP/Vig/Scum/even a fake claim. We basically would have lost due to this if even one kill was blocked OR Vig didn't accidentally hit a Lover.

Bah. You took advantage of broken flavor. No respect!

Town had no seer (lolme), and our only role clear was a vig.

I cleared Darthe based on his behavior. Clov was clear because of his content.

Thane and Eldrick were obvious scum. You and Leelou were tied. Dice muddied the waters.

So what are you even talking about yates?

So what are you even talking about yates?

Seriously? Pretty much the entire discussion that lead directly to your mislynch. Stuff like this:

EBWOP: That was a rhetorical question for Sili. **I don't think we should be basing our lynches upon name claims. That pretty much never works out.

Im pretty sure lancelot merlin and arthur and guinevere are in the game.

U cant have an arthurian legend game without those characters imo.

Will someone tell me the percent likelyhood Merlin isn't in this agme, there is no doctor, and Merlin is evil?

Can someone please tell me how that's a world we might be living in???

If you can't, then I demand you stop tinfoiling.

**Prophetic!

Let me give you another specific example of what I was talking about above. You were drawing a line in the sand saying that because you were Merlin we HAD to think you were Town. You also assumed that Lancelot, Arthur. and Guinevere were not only in the game but that if they were they HAD to be Town. In Alanna's current setup? That's true. It shouldn't be, though, is what I'm saying. If she took those character claims and randomized them against roles and alignments? Arthur could be Town or Mafia GF. Prevents character claims from breaking the game. Actually, Alanna's current setup had a double sin. In her current setup if you knew a player's character you could guess at their role. It could even be explained later as Mordred disguised as Arthur upon his death or something like that so it's still fun and in keeping with her narrative.

There's certainly a lot to say about what I messed up, but I'm not responsible for you not reading the thread. There were a lot of reasons to not vote me, as Darthe and I expounded.

Also, let me just say that the above is simply MY OPINION.

More importantly, it is in NO WAY intended to disparage the awesome and elegant game Alanna designed for us.

It is simply MY OPINION - since she asked - that she may want to take this into consideration in future games.

Even if she didn't, I wouldn't know and I'd still sign up!

POE was about how you guys hopped on trains combined with role claims mate.  Character claims didn't matter to me but dang you guys were a tough scum team to figure out. Definitely earned this win and I think that, had town perhaps used a couple of night powers differently, this game would have been a bit in our favor.

It was at the end of the day a suggestion, and not a sure fire thing. There were too many unknowns for town to clear anyone based on a character or role claim imo.

I never attempted to clear Lancelot or Arthur either.

I agree that in general this can put undue strain on a mafia team.  I think that a way to circumvent it without completely invalidating the relationship roles and claims have is to give the mafia at least one fake claim that's superb.  For instance in a Game of Thrones theme game I gave Ned Stark as a fake claim once.  Actually... Might have been Rob.  Either way.  Still, I think this is a really interesting setup and that it was a lot of fun to play in.  Combining the protective and investigative roles was a fun way to ramp up the tension.

Well, I'm not going to fight you on this. You did, though. Even if you don't realize it. And I quoted it.

In another group I play with, unless we are just doing it for the lulz, which happens a lot, a smart vig tends to holster the first night until they have a better feel for who is scum. I wish that had happened here. It definitely hurt town to lose us night one.

It did but I think that shot worked out for us mostly.  Without the advantage of hindsight Lily you would have been difficult to figure out down the road and Cass would have been an extra person to try and clear in the game.  No offense but with you two around I'd probably not have solved the game and the others would be that much further behind as well (I imagine).  So yeah, it was -ev but not as badly as it could have been.

My poe was based on character reads.

You weren't reading the thread.

I cleared clov based on his content, only to feel better about clearing him after his character claim. However, the character claim did not significantly impact my read.

I did not clear Leelou.

Posted

@Leelou can you explain your rationale for not hammering Dice when you had the chance?

Don't give her that.

I specifically told you Eldrick was going to hammer me, and you told me Eldrick wouldn't do that and took  your time convincing Leelou. This is your fault. >.>

And when I play, I hope townies had made themselves obvious town so they don't need to even be considered for a vig shot.
