Yeah, so, berf's post. I looked over it and, really he didn't say much. He focused first on some of the Thane/Verb stuff from the start of the game, and gave some sparse thoughts about a few other players. I don't find it an abnormal post for just getting into the game. I especially saw where he was coming from on Despo (who he thought had an off entry into the game but proved much more townie-like later) and manbat (who he noted was handing out a lot of town reads without much reason behind them).

He felt that Cory seemed scummy because he seemed defensive, I think? (If I read that right.) But agrees that Hallia looks good. And seemed to find Yates and Thane scummy. Yates I think either because he was ignoring Tommy and/or because of his "cheering" of Hally. And Thane because of his thoughts about Krak roling a player based on gender.

I feel like berf could definitely use a little pressure, but I don't find that one post lynchworthy, atm. Not getting a scum vibe from his post.

I mean obviously he doesn't "know" I'm a villager because that would be nonsensical. But he can analyze my slot enough to be able to comfortablcomfortably ( and correctly) clear me for the rest of the game. Which is the concept I'm trying to explain.

Just because he says the word "know" that doesn't make him a lock wolf

See, I do have a problem with this. Maybe I just don't get it because I don't know anyone here well enough/can read anyone here well enough to be sure of when they're scum or town, but clearing someone for the rest of the game just seems dumb. It's one thing to recognize that you can read someone better later in the game, it's one thing to clear a few people for Day 1 to help narrow down the pool, since we have nothing else to go off on Day 1. But looking at someone on Day 1 and clearing them for the rest of the game is either just lazy or bad scumhunting, imo.

So out of all that

You saw one line "for the rest of the game" and thought "that's the only thing I'll respond to and everything else you said was pointless"?

I see where you're coming from but some players just aren't able to replicate their town games as scum in real time. Manbat is one such player -- when he goes full tilt like he did earlier, he's a villager. (Unless someone gave him cocaine.)

Lol, there's that too.

I like Alanna's posts on this page.

Monstr I think that response was a little more sharp than necessarily. She's basically agreeing with you and saying she often employs the tactic herself - accept that part about not reconsidering later.

This is the stuff I was talking about earlier btw. His reads align with what I would consider outdated DM tells in a pool of players he doesn't know well.

The Monstr town read thing, "defensiveness", etc.

Like to the extent that I'm having a hard time believing he believes it, to be clear.

I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if his thought process was "if I'm aggressively wrong, people will clear me for it."

I also wouldn't be shocked if he's a villager, but he's certainly insistent on being a detriment.

I want to lynch him.

I found absolutely everything else you said in that post reasonable. Should I repost it and bold it all too just so I can say "I agree" ?

I'll take it into account. But see, I find this all kind of frustrating because it's completely unhelpful to me. I myself have never played with manbat, so I have no meta for him personally. And I have no idea if you are scum or town, so I have no reason to trust what you say about his meta and about you read on him. I can trust it a little more if we get multiple people who have played with him saying it, but otherwise, it's all null for me, and the both of you continuing to push it just doesn't change that.

Alanna I got your meaning :)

Manbat is sensitive sometimes, I don't think he meant anything by it.

Yeah, I saw you kinda ninja'd me there :D It's cool, I'm not upset or anything. Just wanted to clarify.

I'm unsure about Arsis. I don't think I've ever played with him before, and I keep see-sawing on whether or not I'm finding him scummy atm. Some of his early stuff from about 24 hours ago was pinging for me, but others were saying he seemed within his meta. And some of his more recent stuff I've kind of agreed with, though I think he was pushing it a little far.

I really have to get the gym, but I will look more at Arsis and Thane when I get back (some of Thane's more recent posts where he was defending Tommy bugged me) and post my thoughts.

Alanna, both me and Tommy have played 20+ games with monstr. If either were giving an incorrect meta on monstr I'd correct them.

What you do with the meta information is up to you, but it's to the point where you either believe that A) me, Tommy and monstr are all lying or B) it's true

I'm not AS confident on Tommy IRT to monstr, but I think he's >>>> rand villager. If his volume and interest level continues past D1 you can pretty comfortably clear him

Posted

Alanna if it makes you feel better I think Tom would hard clear Monstr in this situation regardless if he were a wolf or not.

Which makes it a null tell then. I'm coming to the conclusion that we should all just stop talking about their alliance and move on :D

I will take this under advisement, thanks. Now I really gotta go, be back later.

AJ when you're around can you read dice's (short) filter and tell me what you think?

Quoting this now so I'll remember to do this later.

But yeah, I'll take a look. From what I remember off the top of my head his game entrance felt at ease and I kind of liked the aggression he showed towards me relatively early
