##Berf

i want some more. His post was 'hey guys, i'm here and will post something'. Really, something more would be nice. Or not, then we can lynch and get on with it.

I'm going to have to look back at berf's post. I'm thinking it was not as bad as some people think it was. There are others who haven't posted much - Pral and Rags come to mind - so I don't know why this is so scummy from berf. I haven't played with him in a while and don't really remember what his activity is usually like, but just because he's not a prolific poster so far warrants 4 votes?

Tommy, I wish you wouldn't use " obvious villager" as a defense. Just because some people are looking askance at you doesn't make them idiots. You're reminding me of Salami from the Firefly game. And the fact that he was actually town really doesn't make that better.

Softing PRs is kinda wolfy but at this point it's out there so NAs will sort it if he's legit.

Yeah good thing we got Rekeh on this one last game

I found what he said/didn't say more suspect than his activity.

Fair enough. That's what I want to take another look at when I get home.

@cory, last game you said yates tended to back down from arguments and mediate as scum. Is this what he's doing here?

Off the top of my head I think the voracity at which he's made the game entirely about himself is more of a villager thing for him

Posted

I've probably only skimmed or backskimmed but maybe the one thing on my head was a weird encouragement post Verbal made for me

Verbal tends to only be even remotely amused with me as scum and I remember him giving me "pep-up" posts as scum (specifically the Buffy game in Thak, think I still have that PM buried somewhere)

I think it's a superfluous thing in his wolf game that he does because he thinks that's what villagers do on a very low sort of level

I'll look for that post on reread

Verb, hon, it's too early to be tinfoiling. We can watch them and see how they play.

True, I'll stop.  I don't even care if you're scum right now - not having to figure out how to act is refreshingly awesome.  Wait, you're hydra with Yates, right?

I think that if people read Berf's post with the knowledge that DM Mafia is drastically different from the last time he played, it might make sense when you look over his reads.  Null for me.

Honestly, if I only made those posts when scum, it was a coincidence.  Still, regardless of my alignment, my statements to you in this game stand firm.

This isn't the post but wanted to respond

I don't hate the way you play.  I consider you a very good player.  I hate the way you let attitude and emotion flood into the game via your posts and basically negatively impact the game.  You didn't do that at all in Discworld, and it was a pleasure to "village" with you.....even though I dropped the ball and drove town off the cliff without you, lol.  That was on me, but your play was great.

I hope you can see the difference there.

Not sure if anyone cares that much - I got called childish for saying this in ABBA - but I generally treat and react to people with similar attitude that they treat me. I know you and Leelou think I've maintained ~some of my good grace because I "suck up to people" like Halli or Tress or AJ or whoever (it's a pretty big list) but it's more that I am just much more likely to treat people with a high degree of respect and talk to them in a softer way if they generally respect me. It's probably why we have some strong ~out of the game friendships.

But if you want to harp on my biggest weakness as a player and as a person it's that I am probably not the greatest person to have around in a bad environment. I'm likely to simply react poorly or remove myself from the situation than stay and try to improve things. Which is certainly a character flaw of which I have ~many. But I work on things constantly and try to adapt and try to improve myself as a player and a person and for the most part I think I'm extremely approachable and I generally calm down quickly.

I'll get my head into this game, some of it for Hallia who has been fantastic in the holes where I've been too frustrated to really care, and some of it because there are some players who deserve my best efforts.

Cory - I'm actually doing a good job trying to ignore your emo play. Stop mentioning me please since this game I haven't addressed it or attacked you. I'm currently reading hallia as townish.

Posted

And that's also the other thing about tommy. He always bloody clears me when he's scum. >.>

Unless he doesn't when he's town, does this matter?

Arsis, could you please provide examples, like Hally was asking for? I don't see where she's nervous.

I could but I won't. Make your own reads. I don't want my opinions to influence others and am suspicious of anyone who does. I made my vote and said who I thought were scum. That's enough for day 1. Anything else is spam at this point.

I apologize if you've read anything I've said as attacking you and I apologize if ~posts like that sound "emo" because they are my best attempt to calmy and rationally explain my mindset.

I apologize that the best way for you to deal with the way I am playing is for you to ignore it.

I'm trying to improve it.

That post didn't, I'm just tired of seeing you mention me as if I was doing anything to you this game. My personal opinion shouldn't be dragged into this.

This makes me think you felt I didn't treat you with respect when you first started playing.  I've made a 'DM career' inside and outside of mafia by being respectful, thoughtful, and courteous to folks.  So I don't really agree with your representation of our interactions.

I'd lean more towards the "some people simply don't get along" scenario.  Maybe I caught you at the wrong time when we first crossed paths.  Maybe your first impression on me wasn't favorable, and that's what got us off on the wrong foot.  Maybe its too late to alter that, dunno.

But I still maintain what I said in the post you quoted.  Discworld was a perfect example of how it should always be - I don't care about the outcome of the game.  I care about the positive environment inside the game.

I know you do as well, so we should focus less on the fact that we don't particularly care for each other, and more on the "making DM mafia games fun for everybody" aspect.  Agreed?

No you're not. You do it on purpose and then apologize with nice words and fake sincerity. It's what I did on jn back in the day. It only took them 5 years to ban me for it. Anyway. This has nothing to do with the game. I just wanted to say keep uo the good work. I find it very entertaining. Tiptoe over the line over and over "my sincerest apologies sir and or madam I had no intention of offending"
