Verb: I'm aware that I say the same things as town and as scum. This is not news. I talk about this in ~every game.

I wasn't saying you say this as town.  That was my point - I don't see you say these things as town.  I feel like you could easily surmise my point in my post, so I'm getting the impression you're brushing it aside with your above post.

But I am town now; point stands.

Every game I hear "you act this way / say these things / wear those socks as scum!"

I think you guys just need to get better at spotting townies and scum. Sometimes it's like bobbing for apples in a bucket of pears with you hooligans.

I won't sign up for any future games you are in, Yates. Do the same for me. If I beat you to the punch in a game you wanna play, lmk and I will drop.

You've got it, boss. Unfortunate that you can't be more mature about it.

Yates, I had no idea you were so petty.

Considering he specifically said "it's personal now" at the end of the last game and then came into this one pretending he's got me on ignore -- yeah. I'm the one making it up.

Just a minor correction - I said it would be personal IF YOU WERE TOWN. But you were scum so... good job? Really, I was over it the second I was lynched and just glad not to have to read the 400+ posts I hadn't caught up on yet.

Okay. Cool.

*sighs* so, yeah, i think we get it. I was just to post something similar to Hallia's message. If you want to talk about other games, do so in that thread, not here.

Might actually go lynch between Yates/Tommy/Verb/AJ, so we just have this game in the thread.

I know you're mostly joking, but I could vote Verb. Haven't seen anything strikingly townie from him yet, and he is someone we should force to play out of his scum range.

You have scum socks?!  Pics or it doesn't exist.

Yeah, like that won't qualify as something you'd defend with "I'd say that as either alignment", lol.  Also, I like apples.

You're all pretty.

Can we talk about THIS game?

Yup.  Let me let some tension out of the room...

Krak shot me a PM to make sure everything was "okay" and that I wasn't harboring bad feelings after the last game.  I hinted at this earlier but I'll tell you exactly what I was doing.

Tom isn't wrong that what I was doing to him could be considered trolling [in retrospect].  I apologize if it came across that way and now recognize why some of you more familiar with recent events thought I was just being petty.

For the record, I never had him on ignore.  [Please.  This is a game.  I'm a grown up.  I lost a game and I'm over it.  Seriously.]  What I was doing was sitting back and specifically NOT interacting with him to see what came of it.  My theory was that it was a good way for *ME* to apply pressure since I know Tommy likes to drive the bus and demands attention.  Since I know all about your #Alliance, I think Tommy fully believes - as Cory does - that Tom will NEVER get lynched on Day 1.  In other words, he's feeling a little too comfortable around here.  I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if I made him feel a little less comfortable.

Also, AJ isn't wrong in that I didn't feel the need to respond to any goading posts - especially given how I wanted to approach this read.

TL/DR: It isn't personal.  I don't hate Tommy.  I wanted to see how he'd react to being less comfortable.  That's it.  If I could buy him an internet beer, it would be two.  So EVERYONE please chill out.  I assume responsibility for my part in it.  It's over.  Let's enjoy the rest of the game.

Incidentally? This is what I was trying to do to Tommy:

Haven't seen anything strikingly townie from him yet, and he is someone we should force to play out of his scum range.

I'm mostly joking, yes.  I would think my poking at Thane to begin the game was pretty townie.  As a townie, I'm not afraid to be labeled "scummy", "going after lynchbait", etc.  I'm happy to walk the fine line of 'too scummy to NK, but not quite scummy enough to lynch'.

If I step too far in any direction, I'll pay the price one way or the other.

So in the end, I expected Tommy to get rustled.  And he did to only a small degree.  Maybe because he honestly believes he's "the tip of the spear" as he christened himself?  Or maybe because he thought I was legit out of my mind frustrated and cutting me slack.  Don't know.  I'll evaluate.

I didn't expect Cory to get rustled.  And HE is the one that actually about lost his mind.  I'll have to think about what that means.

Pretty sure the only thing you accomplished is annoying Cory.

I think I accomplished more than that but let's put that aside for a second. Why do you think me coming at you [and you literally asked for me to "get at you"] like that annoyed him so much?
Posted

Because he's reading me as town and you were acting extra obnoxious and pretending all three of us were wolves. So in a word: insolence

But that isn't accurate. I have quite clearly stated several times that I'm convinced his slot is Town because of Hally. In fact, I was called wolfy for celebrating Hally's performance thus far.

Also, I think Monster and I are on the same page. He seems to understand why you flipping scum at this point would cause me to be suspicious of him. The way I explained my read on Monster should have made it evident that the level of suspicion on his slot was entirely dependent on your alignment.

I can pull up the posts if you would like but I think they are clear and suggest that I am NOT calling all three of you wolves. I AM calling you a wolf, though. And I AM questioning the pragmatism inherent in the logic proffered by the #Alliance herd mentality. I also think Sili made an EXCELLENT post that suggests why that type of play is actually detrimental to the Town - and I'm going to add the qualifier "given the way forum mafia is played at DM."

Posted

You're acting like all of this was apparent throughout all of yesterday. It's only today that you stopped "acting".

The effects of your trolling do not immediately dissipate upon turning heel.

Posted

I do not believe you have any business calling me a wolf and I hope if you continue to try to lynch me, someone shoots you to teach you a lesson.

Posted

you were acting extra obnoxious...

Here is my ISO. I don't think I was being as terrible as you think I was being. Can you let me know any post numbers where you think I was being overly rude or personal or obnoxious? I am capable of reading myself critically and would be open to toning it down if I'm out of line.
