Is there a portion of the game that will let me catch up best while obtaining current reads on people?

Few big things are the Leelou/Clov event you ignored at the time, the Salami meltdown and responses, Hallia being pressured, and the Great Siliami Wars last night. Dunno what pages.

Ooh, was that a snipe in there? I didn't ignore it - it was ongoing when I last posted.

I don't so much find Hally's reread itself scummy, but after re-evaluating, I decided it was a null move to me, rather than it being a townie move. Thus, she's back to being a top suspect to me.

Let's start with what did you like about her posting before you changed your mind on it?

Mostly that she seemed open to re-evaluating some of her previous thoughts, for instance, her scum read on Wombat. And just in general, her reread posts made more sense than a lot if the illogical thoughts she was posting earlier.

 

However, looking back over those posts, there really wasn't much to them at all, and by the end if the reread, she was back to scum reading Wombat, so it's possible that her initial change of mind there was designed to make it look like as though she was willing to cone to some new thoughts.

You were posting before and after. I would expect you to have a comment on Leelou given how discussion was about her for 2-3 pages.

He's scum. Like. I don't think he could look scummier to me.

On that one game where Clov got mislynched as town, Tommy mixed and matched some posts of his from a scum game with the ones in the game in question... and I ended up joining his train because the resemblance in wording and content was uncanny. But I didn't really read him as scum. The case just felt very compelling because his wording was so similar. On that day I learned that Clov's town and scum games are very similar and I prolly wasn't at a place where I could discern the difference.

Nowadays, though, especially after being in a scum team with Clov and Tom, I feel like I have a better grasp of his wolf game. He is not playing like town Clov. His tone is completely off. He's picking the low hanging fruit. He's not in solve mode. He's in mislynch mode. And he's aiming at what's easier. That's how it comes across to me.

Just so we're perfectly clear, you no longer believe that my scum and town games are very similar, right? That's out the window.

This post is in the same vein as what you think makes Salami likely scum.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to do there.  I'm not trying to use my meta as a defense.  I'm just making sure I understand her position fully.  If she thinks I'm not likely to try something like exploiting someone's emotional state as town...cool.  She's probably never seen me do it as town, so there's a VERY valid argument to not associating it with my town game.

 

It's not cool to take that stance if she still believes that my town game is nearly identical to my scum game though. Think about it logically.

 

Argument A:  <Person> would not <action> as town.

Argument B: <Person> plays mafia the same way they play town.

 

Based on that, you pretty much can't conclude somebody doing "action" is indicative of them being mafia.  As far as I could tell, she's still holding onto that belief my town and scum games are nearly identical.  But she also believes I'm scum for doing something I wouldn't do as town.  She can't have it both ways.

 

I still can't get over Clov's ridiculously feigned backtrack on the "Lee Gambit."

Clov, have you discussed Salami doing pretty much the exact same thing you did -- calling Leelou scum and then rereading and forgetting why you thought that?

 

I didn't do that.  I never thought she was scum and was voting her as a tactic.  From somebody else's POV? Sure - I could be making that up and was simply trying to justify my case of

I already outed one scum.  Nyn and Hallia are both very likely town.  Sili less so, but still leaning that way.  

 

 

But from mine, it's not the same at all.  I'm not going to find myself suspicious for doing something.

Not sure what to think of Despo's 180 on the game. I can get his point on csarmi and backing off a bit there, but I think lynching an inactive right now, when we have some real candidates, will just mean we get much less info from the lynch. Really wondering where Pral is tho, he hadn't even checked in for a couple days and I don't remember him being absent on weekends all the time.

 

 

Which direction do you think we should go in?

@ Tommy - I wouldn't really say I find it scummy, I just think it's equally possible a thing to have done as scum or town. As I said, it's a null move to me. I'm voting her for her actions previous to the reread.

There's no reason anybody in the game should have been buying what I was selling about Leelou there.  Even if somebody thought she WAS confident based on her....sarcasm?...early in the thread, am I saying it was missing?  Am I saying it was there, and it shouldn't have been?

I read your post as saying since she's NOT being confident, you're reading her as scum. You meant the opposite?? That's not clear at all.
