Hola mis amigos.  Officially back in DM mafia.  im replacing the dappy pianist, so to speak, and will need some time to reread as well.  Also, no idea if my meta changed while I was gone, I played a lot in epicmafia so I may be different now.

But two things still remain.  Firstly

:flamingsword:

------ baguette -------

and secondly, as always

I am mafia.  :baalzamon:

For those of you who don't know me and may case me on possible WIFOM, this is a joke. :P i accidentally said I was mafia in a game.  I think I still won though lol

Probably not starting that reread right away though, just spent hours rereading Despo's game, so I'll take a short break lol.

Not something you want to be saying...

Referencing your own meta in such a manner IS a little scummy Rand.

Withholding my judgement for now tho till I see your catchup

Nope.  No it isn't. But I did.  Read the spoiler, its a reference.

Yeah, but I really don't care.  For one, there's nothing stopping you from making that reference as mafia, so that's completely null.  Second, once you get caught up with the thread, you'll fully understand where I'm coming from.

Yeah I know, but come on, its been such a long time since I played here, I've got to make some references.  I'm still trying to catch up to all the new slogans, <>= rand, wolfies, etc.

And please tell me someone remembers the baguette

K, I'll wait for then.  Which might be a while.  This is so long...

I don't remember the  baguette. But if it's any consolation, it made me hungry.

Ehh good enough I guess.

Wow just spent a bunch of time looking at Tommy's play, and then realized he was lynched... this sucks.

Posted

K just finished page 69, didn't want the quotes to get too long.  If you're lazy, just read my comments, I'll try to sum up what the quote said and my response in that.

NEVER have I played in a game where the players were THIS bad, THIS oblivious to scum staring them in the face, THIS willing to ignore obvious town tells to hone in on ABSOLUTELY ASININE "scumtells" that don't even fracking exist.

You're all doing the work for scum instead of letting them expose themselves. Scum likely has a lot of slankers because THEY DONT NEED TO WORK AT GETTING MISLYNCHES. YOU'RE DOING IT FOR THEM.

Unless you fracks are actually all scum, in which case -- well done, you snertheads.

I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

Originally for Tommy, but I think its a good post, plus worked too hard to type it up

In this quote, Tommy is getting mad at people for not playing well enough to his standards.  K Tommy, I've read you in this game and in Despo's game.  Without bringing in info from other game's, you generally play too gung-ho, too accusatory of anyone who doesn't try hard enough for your standards.  Now I know that this is what everyone is saying and you'll probably respond that you're flexible and so on, but I feel like you should hear this from someone who just came back, has played on some other sites, both forum and chat, and frequently.  You're trying too hard in the wrong way.  Focus on scumtells, slips, reactions, and so on.  The more you focus on whether people's tells are good or not, the more you're focusing on their ability in the game, their personality, their mood, or something besides their alignment.  I feel like thats the only thing to be said here.  That goes for everyone else casing people because their reads are bad.  No problem with casing if you think someone is protecting or pushing someone too much, but saying that they have bad reads or are not trying hard enough is not an accurate scumtell at all.

Does Cory have access to the dead thread?  It's almost worth just lynching Tommy now so that we can ensure a dead thread chock full of epicness.

Napoleon-Dynamite-GIF-Slap-fight.gif

Don't like this post one bit.  Looks like foreshadowing a Tommy town flip.

Mynd gives a joke/fake reason to lynch Tommy.  DOn't like this either, Mynd is usually better than this, at least from what I remember.

@Basel, Cory has a QT... right?  If not GET THAT MAN A QT.  We are missing post-game comedy gold here.

lol  You do realize this is Blackhoof's game and not Basel's, right? xD

Lol I was confused the whole time this happened.

Ugh. Hate GoT.

You are dead to me.

First of all I haven't avoided the thread or disappeared. I have been busy this week. That is all. Work in day, seeing friends at night. I don't lie about RL things and I don't avoid the thread. Just spent over an hour catching up.

Anyways, first of all I am happy with what I've done with my role, and am more than ready to be the lynch so town can use all the information I've garnered. As vanilla town all I can hope for is to die and provide us with a lot of information to work with. I've done that. My utility is more or less done and used up as now there is so much WIFOM and lock scum on me that I can't give much more of anything of worth anyways. Please lynch me today and then reassess your reads. Not lynching me at this point is a waste because I don't think I can get any more info or meaningful interactions anyways.

About the whole treating Des and Darthe interchangeably as scum and town, the answer is a fairly logical one. I'm vanilla town. I know NO ONE'S alignment. As such I fully admit I can be wrong and need to look at everyone as possibly town or scum, I don't have any lock scums at this point in any way at all. For what it's worth, given everything since my last read's list, I think Des is town lean, and Darthe more null, but he's so vocal it seems too risky for mafia to play so loud. I think Tommy might be right, Mafia is hanging back and watching this with a lot of pleasure. It's sad. Dap is a scum read to me though. I'm here and willing to talk but I think I'm the best lynch. Seriously.

[unvote] [V] RTE [/v] My work here is done.

Ehh, I like this post.  Also, I hate the terms lock clear and lock scum.  Are you a cop?  No?  Then they're not lock clear or lock scum.  Even if you're a cop now that I think about it.  This just promotes tunneling, exaggerated reads, bad reactions, and a whole mess of things.

I figured it out.  Tommy's role is the Tabloid Journalist.  If he can reach a certain number of antagonistic replies in this thread by the end of D1, then he wins the game.

Piers-Morgan-021714-YouTube.jpg

I lold hard.

I had more info, but most of it was deleted because I found out that Tommy was dead. :(

The first page has a list of players, and when they die I expand their name to cover alignment, role and time and manner of death.

Yeah thats how I figured it out.  I still haven't gotten to his actual lynch scene.  Also, just read the rules, that might help too. :P  Insanity's going to be trippy if mafia gets insane.  Btw how does that work if a mafia player is made insane?  What happens to the kill? Cuz it'd be hilarious if an insane mafia kill killed the mafia. :P

Guess so.

Think he's town though. Or really good mafia play IMO. Well, good or really bad, depends how you look at it.

After all he might be scum, and if I got lynched first and flipped town he would get serious cred. Sorta. Town wouldn't know I'm also town.

Wow.  Don't like this post at all.  He seemed town before, but I always use the either town or really good mafia to always keep up a possibility of him being either on the flip.  Gives RTE an amazingly easy escape option.

You literally have two players competing over which one commits suicide first and you're calling both of them scum.

If you are NOT scum, this is bar none the worst town play I have ever seen in my entire life.

IN. MY. ENTIRE. LIFE.

LARGE.  COLORED.  LETTERS.

Hehe this was pretty funny too.  I like Mynd, Darthe (not that it matters), and Despo's reactions to the flip of Tommy.  Don't like TG's

WIth all that hto Des, Darthe and Bat look waaaay worse than you do after tommys flip.

Andy yes I'm going to go back and look at tommys town reads, expecially the ones he was very very sure of.

soft foses after a flip, do not like at all

Also, just because he's town doesn't mean his reads are good.  If you thought he was good, I would have remembered his reads regardless.  This seems like a post to move TG closer to the dead townie, and make him seem more townie.  FoS on TG.

Just woke up, gonna need alot of coffee now, and come back and reassess.

And sorry about the confusion about hammer game. I was the one who made a deal out of the fact that it wasn't one. I was under the impression there were two types of games, hammer games where a lynch is reached as soon as one player gets the majority vote, and a deadline game where the lynch is reached at deadline if a majority is reached. Most OPs in games I've played said "this is a hammer game". This OP says "This is a deadline game". So yeah - didn't mean to spread confusion - is confused.

don't like the lack of reaction here either, I feel like anyone who saw that coroner should have some reaction

Motivation, I guess. I don't remember what the initials actually stand for.

Desmond slumped into the luxurious bed. Many of the rooms had beds, mostly king-sized and incredibly soft. They had been stuck in this hell-house for over 12 hours, and many had taken he opportunity to sleep in these past few hours. Many had died, and they knew that more would soon. A few had simply stopped caring.

Desmond had not given up hope. He was driven by a simple desire- to see his daughter again. In one piece, of course, the head on the table was not her. It may have looked like her, but it was not. It couldn't be. This Tallow was clearly a powerful sorcerer, capable of making illusions and this mind-bogglingly huge house. He must have faked the heads. It was the only explanation. Once Desmond escaped, he would see his daughter again, hold her in his arms, and know that this had all been a horrible, horrible nightmare.

Desmond was lost in thought, and did not hear the door creak open. He did not see the thin, pale finger pointing through the crack at him, nor did he hear the guttural, whispered words of power. But he certainly felt the abominable spell's effects. His skin wrinkled and withered away, his hair turned grey, then white, and fell out in seconds. Sitting bolt upright, he opened his mouth to scream, but only a thin gasp came out as his face took on the appearance of a man well past a century of age. Within ten seconds, Desmond had gone from being a man in his prime to being a dessicated husk. With a final wheeze, he fell over, eyes shrivelling and his entire body shrinking as his form lost all substance. Desmond Pothera was dead.

Des, Vanilla Town, has been Night Killed!

As the unholy cacophony in the hallways ceased, the investigators took stock of their numbers. They found the remains of Desmond, grey and withered, on the bed, and they also found a body, nearly completely shredded, in the middle of another room. Blood was everywhere, and the corspe had been mutilated severely. What could have done this, they wondered? Eventually, they identified the body as belonging to Mark Weathers, and the group resolved to continue the hunt for the cultists among them.

It is now day 3!

You have 4 days to secure a lynch, or a random will be chosen to die.

Lol I swear to god if I had died, I would have flipped tables. :P  Also, funny that Des's character was Desmond.  But in all seriousness, up until what I have read, Des wasn't the most townie character out there.  In addition to Lenlo being killed (right?), I'm thinking vig?  Don't know if this has been mentioned before, since I actually haven't reached Lenlo's death scene, just seen it on the first page.

K I like Red's point against Mynd on page 83 that mafia were almost assuredly on the Tommy train, because he was actually scummy, and mafia could pile on a scummy person, and do legit scumhunting.  Its the perfect opportunity for mafia.  I see what Mynd is trying to say, but the fact that he stated that he definitely thought Tommy was scummy as hell, and then implied that scum would think that Tommy is not scummy as hell, strikes me as trying to use a good sounding strategy to draw scum radars away from him, and possibly 1 of his teammates.  No more than that though, cause if Mynd is mafia, he sure as hell wouldn't have wanted all mafia on 1 train, and then said something like that.

That being said, I too was surprised that Red was not more involved in the Tommy section, which she even admitted to reading.  The Red I remember would have jumped in fangs bared and WoTs dripping like saliva from a dog's mouth.  But that Red may have changed so idk.
