[Advanced] Blackhoof's Cthulhu Mythos Mafia Game- Day 1

Just for a moment, go back and re-read from the beginning of D2 with the suspension of your disbelief that I am town and I made up the dream on three townies. Read the reactions of those involved. Those who went along with it. Those who began to question if I (or Rand) were a third party. See, those are people who KNEW my three names were town.

One of those players was Nyn. I called her out just before the turn of the phase. If I were scum, why would I do that?

if you were scum you wouldn't have known that Nyn was going to be killed. you would however know that your WIFOM was at an end and you were the next lynch.

so imo given that Nyn was going at you, and you started going at Nyn, i think you two were setting up to distance on thread to help give Nyn more town cred than she already had.

But why would I even say anything?

Or, I really felt she was scum. If I was lynched and flipped scum, you'd be after Nyn because I mentioned her.

Well, maybe to you. Why would a scum mention Nyn at all? If I knew I was going to flip scum, why would I mention Nyn at all? This is also not the first time I pointed at her as possible scum this game.

There are likely two scum left. Sadly, we have yet to lynch a scum. I'm pretty sure Dawn is one of them. Red could be the other.

I still like Red's chances to be town. I still don't think she would have spent the first night phase casing somebody as scum if that person was targeted for the NK, and she's acting pretty consistently with how she was in Buffy (my only complete game with her). Her going after you might be an opportunistic thing, but that's neither inherently scummy OR unwarranted in this case.

Dawn is a null for me. Your explanation on why you think she's scum IRT the third party questioning makes sense, but I'm not sold on it.

I just feel Dawn's play is way different compared to any other games I've been in her with. Of course it's natural for her to get better, it's just to me, something is off. I don't think she ever has. My only 2 scum games were the first 2 games that I ever played. Obviously, I played badly then - but I also played that way in the Twilight and Red Wedding games.

What gets me about Red is that town!Red is typically casing everyone, while scum!Red is very selective in her casing. She was completely sold on Tommy being town and was rabid about it. Same with Wombat. The only way someone could be completely 100% sold on town is 1) cop or 2) they are mafia.

Well, compare my play here to my play in scum games - it's completely different. Also, most people have read me as scum in almost every game I've played - the one exception being Once Upon a Time, where a lie detector confirmed me as town.

This sounds like you're reaching for a reason to lynch somebody IMO. You admit she's not playing like you've seen before, which includes multiple scum games, so you can't make the case she's playing her typical scum game. You admit her play has likely evolved. I don't see how you can make the determination her town play wouldn't have evolved.

You're also saying that Mynd is possibly scum. I don't disagree with that, but if you think his chance to be wolfing is that high, I don't lynching the person he's most strongly pushing.

It's how much it's evolved since the last game I've been with her in. Its near night and day to me. I'm not saying it's not possible, I just think it's worth pursuing.

Looking at who is left, would we all agree that it is reasonable that there are likely 4 mafia out of 18 players?

Player List

Tsukibana - I haven't liked many of his posts this game and I have in the past. Nyn has picked on him a lot and pushed for his lynch twice so leaning town.

dawnflower - While I would LOVE for this to be Dawn's own game, I am convinced that a lot of her posts, most of the earlier ones, have been coached from the Mafia QT. I think her more recent posts have been her own, but that is likely because Lenlo and Nyn are both gone.

~~Quibby~~ Clovdyx - My initial read on Quibby was town. Clov has played a town game.

TGlems - Probably part of the reason I'm not lynched right now is that he hasn't been online. I figured mafia would have swooped in to lynch me.

Red - I can't tell if this is just Red being stubborn or if she really is scum. I don't like how selective she was with defending Tommy and Wombat prior to their flip

~~Zer0~~ Hallia - I....I can't tell. The fact that I can't tell leads me to believe that she's playing very aloof and non-comittal. Could mean scum.

See, my play has evolved! Seriously, I am not being coached. Who would've been around to coach me the whole time, anyway? There were times when only me and Despo were online and he was accusing myresponses of his posts to being coached. That is impossible, unless someone was coaching me offscreen. And I don't cheat. Or know anyone IRL besides Ice who plays mafia.
