I'm more of a gin man myself, although some higher end tequilas are quite exceptional - Herradura is pretty nice. Give me a G&T in the summer though. Refreshing and satisfying, just like Verb.

.

Only tequila I seem to like is Patron silver.  Dunno why, it just fits my palate.

Teach me something else I probably don't know but may care about.

We could talk physics, lol

About an hour outside Charlotte, NC.  Nonetheless it's cool how many of us are around this area.

Word.  Someday, in person mafia.  Somedaaaaaaaayyyyyy........

Also, have you ever tried 12 yr old Hibiki?

Some of the best new whiskeys and single malts are coming out of Japan these days which is awesome because American distilleries are having a hard time keeping up with demand. Even Buffalo Trace is getting harder to find and the allocations are smaller than ever.

Anyone know where to find Lillet Blanc?  I've been looking for a  long time.

I might be able to snag you a bottle. If you're interested send me a Pm and I'll see what I can do about mailing you a bottle.

Try Cabo Wabo.  It is particularly nice and not too expensive for mixing.

Physics?  I live with a grad student in the field.  It's a cool topic that goes completely over my head.

It always surprises me to find out how many people on here are REALLY well educated.  It's cool, shows that the population has a higher propensity for quite a few things.

Big fan of Islays, huh?

Indeed.  Better than Johnny Walker any color IMO.  Hibiki has a very unique taste which is why I like it.  Macallan is a little too sweet sometimes but is good.

Also a fan of Jack Daniels.  Don't make fun of me. lol

I remember that episode of Cosmos recently where they had the neutrino detector.  And when I saw the flashes of light I got so excited because I realized I knew how it worked (Cherenkov radiation).

Pretty sure the only thing I use my degree for at this point is to make people call me doctor occasionally, lol.  And for the street cred.

I've always wanted to say "It's 'doctor' to you, sir."

I hope that doesn't happen to me.  I know a dude, used to work for him actually, who had his doctorate in applied mathematics and took care of horses for a living.

I always thought that was one of the coolest things to see.

I currently work for the American Physical Society, the world's largest professional society of physicists.  I do need a physics ph.d. for my job...I just don't do a lot of the same things that my Ph.D. focused on anymore.

I told my wife she had to call me doctor after I got my ph.d.  She had just gotten her masters and told me that was fine but only if I called her master, lol
