So why didn't you make that vote earlier instead of saying you could go either way and asking about deadline?

It was early D1, I was still largely undecided and wanted to gauge gameplay when more people 'joined the fray' later on. So if anything, I'm guilty of being overtly cautious about my D1 vote. So, if you're still locked in on me as scum, that's a better story than my scummyness for asking about deadline.

This shows that you were waiting for the game to move rather than trying to get it moving yourself.  That is anti-town.

No, it isn't.  You're really reaching with this Vos pressure.  This is not typical Wombat scumhunting.  I'm no longer willing to fuse.

I think Darthe looks town, along with Vos.  Vos wants to avoid semantics - I like this.  I've always harped on about scum liking to delve into semantic arguments.  Darthe seems to be trying to see the game from all angles - I'm liking this, too.

Holy crap Lenlo, Wombat, and Darthe spammed the game over the weekend.  I might have to alter my normal weekend activity re: mafia to keep pace this game.

Playing coy about my claim was bound to get the mafia after me. I felt AJ's first post about a massclaim was superscummy, but I wanted to see what came from it. And then when he immediatley jumped me when he came back... It sealed the deal.

Well, why is it superscummy? What would a scum gain out of it?

What would town gain out of it? Really?

I wouldn't call it superscummy though, but it's certainly nothing but distracting both now and later in the game. Neither town nor mafia has a direct gain or loss from it - so who are the only one who has a gain in putting focus where it doesn't matter?

Nothing much. I agree it doesn't help a lot either way and hence I was wondering why Mish finds it "superscummy".

It's superscummy because in my eyes only mafia benefits from an early mass claim. The mafia don't have fake claims, we know that. They'll need to find their own. So both AJ's mass claim idea and Len's fishing that only secondary characters are involved stood out to me. The whole idea benefits the mafia way more than it does town. And the reactions it was getting, "It's a too risky move for mafia to make at this point, AJ is town" didn't help one bit. It seemed calculated to make people think that.

This makes total sense to me; in fact, I made a similar point earlier. I just felt you were overly certain that AJ was scum because of your trap. Especially given that, for me, he hasn't otherwise pinged as scummy so far.

Bold is mine:

This is essentially what I was looking for, when I mentioned there could be more innocent reasons for linking deadline and voting. He had a couple ideas of where to place his vote, but it was still early in the game, and he wanted to find out if we had a set time yet for when he needed to place a vote by.

I'll grant you, he could have placed a vote on either your or Darthe anyway, to see what kind of a reaction he would get, to try to push one of you. But I don't think the fact that he chose a slightly less proactive stance makes him scummy.
