Yes.  Unfortunately it means you will all die since there is a piece of metal in the carpet and it oscillates up and down at near relativistic frequencies so the Hall effect separates the charges and creates an oscillating dipole that releases so much electromagnetic radiation that everyone dies. Sad really, but that is the price you pay.  Also a good reason to avoid oscillating pieces of metal at relativistic frequencies.

Seems to be down to the recruit. I wish we had some indication as to when it happened to go back and compare posting styles on people, unless it happened last night. Thoughts/theories?

I went back and read through all the scenes. None have given an indication, that I can see, as to when the recruit was used. Lily has mentioned and alluded in scenes when other items have been used.
