I don't agree that me pointing out we should focus less on character claiming is self-contradictory. Mostly because, despite making a point of it, people (especially Womby) have been spewing character character character talk all over the thread - so frankly it's extremely hard to comment on the game without mentioning it. 

 

Just home from work now, so I'm gonna massage my feet, get a cup of coffee and properly catch up on if anything worth mentioning have happened. I skimmed but all I could see was Womb overplaying his character and some GOAT-talk.

I'm jelly. I've been out here since 2009 and still haven't even been up to LA

 

I just got back from the park with my son recently, that was fun.

 

I think we should all character claim.

Like this play from AJ. Not that I am a fan of solving the game by character claiming, but the act itself. Doesn't exactly help scum than to create a wifom but it could be too much of a risk for a minor advantage.

 

Not any other than a general dislike for pointless claim-fests D1. And also general dislike for "weeeeeeell if you don't wanna claim you got something to hide". I got nothing to hide, but a consensus on "yeah let's all just claim" kind of defies the point of having secret characters, and with the overwhelming possibilities of disney characters out there it's not very likely two people will claim the same character - so I don't see the point, and believe focusing on gameplay is the more pro-town course of action.

At the same time, don't like vos elaborately explaining it. Agreed that it was because Darthe prompted him but the tone sounds like he is being intentionally defensive there.

So, what I gathered that feels more or less relevant at this point in the game to this point. 

 

AJ is first to suggest everyone claims. 

Lenlo refuses.

AJ claims Fantasy, says he doesn't know the character but describes the picture

Verb asks if AJ just claimed scum, has failed to explain this so far

Len starts to get some votes on him, acts very happy about it

Darthe pegs Len as scum for being forced, saying its a limited pool of Disney character to take from

   (When there is already one character from Pagemaster(?) claimed, that no-one really seem to know)

Darthe points out the page has alot more pageviews then replies, and claim scum is lurking

Darthe agrees claiming ain't gonna help - still pushes the point to other players. 

Mish bribes the mod with black lillies. 

Darthe clears AJ for being the first to character claim for no apparent reason.

Darthe claims either Len or Verb is scum, after one post where Len doesn't agree AJ is cleared Darthe unvotes, "liking his responses"

Darthe gets slightly aggrivated when I try to get the talk away from claim-fest-ing, calling it deflecting. 

Wwwwombat comes in, and announces he will claim, but only if he get more points than AJ. Funny concidering we had already discussed scum probably gets points for fake-claiming, town wont get points for claiming. 

Wwwwombat votes me without giving a reason, when asked he says its because I don't want to talk claiming, yet has.

Also iffy feeling by Darthe and Lens interactions, reads a bit like half-hearted distancing.

1) I think it weird that her claim is a movie title. A movie. Not a character. Thats weird based on the claims weve seen thus far.

2) Cause none of the chars weve seen so far are main characters? Gaston can be argued otherwise but imo hes not a main character in his film.

3) Im not playing dumb on anything. The sheer amount of Disney characters makes it statistically improbable that a fake claim will be another players character. Srs Disney has a /massive/ amount of characters.
