"You fools!" Herbert West cried. "I am not some cultist! I am a man of science!"

 

The crowd gathered closer to him, grumbling angrily. They all remembered the horrific attacks of several months ago, where an anonymous madman had killed and eaten dozens of people in the space of a night. Some whispered that the man, who bore a startling resemblance to the recently deceased Dr Halsey, was actually the reanimated corpse of the good Doctor, brought back to ghastly unlife by Herbert West's unholy experiments. West had denied this charge, although he insisted that his work in reanimating dead tissue was close to success. Who else but a worshipper of dark forces could call forth such power? The power to raise the dead was the domain of Satan, not science.

 

 

"People are dying!" One resident cried. 

"This man is a murderer!" Called another.

 

"Now, let us not be too hasty." Inspector Legrasse cautioned the crowd. "There is no evidence to indicate that this man has committed any crime, we need to be careful not to jump to conclusions." Another voice supported the Inspector.

"Yes, the good Inspector is right!" Randolph Carter insisted. "We cannot let our fears-"

 

"The time for talking is done!" Roared one figure, in a rasping voice. "I for one will not stand by while these MURDERERS run free!" With that, the figure drew a large calibre handgun, and fired straight at West. The round took West in the chest, knocking him to the ground with a cry of pain. Within an instant Legrasse had his firearm out and pointed at the vigilante. "Drop the gun! Drop it now, Marsh!"

 

Obed Marsh smiled, his aged features twisting into a cruel, sadistic mask. "I do not think that I shall be doing that..."

Suddenly someone behind Legrasse leapt forward, and drove a dagger straight into the Inspector's back. Legrasse let out an agonised cry and fell to his knees, as shocked and horrified citizens backed away from the horrific scene. Cthulhu cultists drew their own knives, and savagely turned upon their fellow Arkhamites, turning the street into a bloody battleground. Marsh gave a signal, and out of the sewers sprang Deep Ones, half-fish, half-humanoid creatures with razor claws and serrated teeth.

 

 

The Deep Ones cast themselves into the panicking crowd, ripping people limb from limb and splattering the asphalt with their blood. 

 

Jack, who was Herbert West, Town Doctor, was lynched!

 

Andrej, who was Inspector Legrasse, Town Cop, died to a dozen stab wounds as the cultist assaulting him stabbed again and again.

Lily, who was Randoplh Carter died, the Cultist who had killed Legrasse grappling with Carter before brutally slicing his throat open.

Zanube, who was Walter Gilman died, Brown Jenkin leaping out of the shadows as he tried to escape and sinking its sharp teeth into his neck, avenging the death of its mistress.

Leelou, who was Charles Dexter Ward died, a Deep One tearing his chest cavity apart with a frenzied howl.

 

 

Wombat, who was Obed Marsh, Mafia Godfather, has won!

Ishy, who was a Deep One Hybrid, Mafia Goon, has won!

Err, who was an Insane Cultist, Mafia Goon, has won!

Technically the Mafia haven't won YET, but with no doc, they would have won after the NK certainly, making it a formality. No point continuing the charade, so I called it quits here.
