@AJ: let me tell u in detail y i went after you.... when i was reading the posts i found X to be scummy and wanted to place my vote for him but also didnt put a L2 vote on him thinking things were going too fast.... when Lily said the same thing i was thinking, i related to that.... and you pushing her a little to vote irrespective of the remaining lynch votes came off as scummy.... then you yourself said that so many votes on X so soon was kind of suspicious while still going after lily... this made you look more scummy to me... so i am still leaning scum on you.

@ des: you seem to be scum hunting more then throwing random mud around... so i m leaning a little town

@ lily: even tough i related to you in D1.... i still kind of have a null read

@ jack: you are my second most likely on my scum list.... AJ and you seem to be on the opposite team so i realize i m wrong about one of you.

Agree with AJ read.

Desp seems scummy to me.

Lily I have a town read. Like 70%

Why do you feel that about me? You didn't give a reason.

well.... firstly because when u said we should lynch AJ and if he flips town or scum that would still make X equally scummy.... if u truly believed that then you should have voted for X at that time instead of AJ.....secondly looking at your voting pattern it seems opportunistic to me... you voted 6 times last night... especially you hoping between AJ and X.. thats y i think that if AJ turns out to be town then u are a scum....

des looks townish to me

Here's how I would group up the players so far-

Town/Would not lynch today:

Err - Weakest of my town reads most likely. Seems like he believes his tinfoil theory about triggers tho

Quibby - Town read based on tone. Just saw his recent vote on Lily, no problem with that lol

Leelou - Straightforward, doesn't quibble in her stances, and I can see how she'd find AJ scummy even tho I don't agree

Verbal - Could have easily just bandwagoned onto X, instead points out his own reasoning for why X looks so scummy, looks good to me

AJ - Handled pressure well, and doesn't waver when announcing that he realizes he linked himself to X. Strong town tone in that post and others. Also willing to go against the grain instead of blending in with others, which is obv more likely to come from town

Need to see more from:

Ishy - Don't agree that everyone is voting a newbie for lulz or that he only looks scummy cause he's new. Don't have much else from him tho and his last post seemed bizarre for him, looked like a ragequit post or something

Zanube - one post I think, which was bad.

Scum/More than happy to lynch today:

Xthrax - Other stuff has already been pointed out, but him recently saying he was joking in his initial response to me looks like total BS cooked up in a QT.

Jack - Prob the one who cooked that up for X, before X said what he did in response to Quibby Jack quoted X's response to me and said it was joke spam... even tho it wasn't. Also think his vote on AJ is opportunistic, and him saying AJ is a better info lynch, or a better lynch at all for that matter, than Xthrax is absurd.

Lily - Not commenting on much, and put out a "I don't wanna rush things, let's hear from him first" post which could have either been scum trying to stall a teammate's lynch, or scum trying to get towncred by preaching caution (this is something Lily often does as scum). Also think she'd be posting more and more relaxed with all these old-timers in the game.

Wombat - yucky vote on Verbal, he isn't waffling on it but also isn't doing much active scumhunting, which isn't a good sign for Wombat.

Feel pretty good about these reads. Obv am leaving my vote on Xthrax today, there's no risk of losing a town PR and his flip can potentially give town a wealth of information since so many have reacted to his lynch or commented on him.

Blue - simply not true

Green - He has said somewhere else that I should be more comfortable because Jack's playing. Other than Jack and Wombat, there really aren't any players I'm familiar with that haven't been around. He's making a big deal out of basically nothing. My meta is to start out slow and ramp up as the game goes on. One major reason is that I rarely live to day three so why invest a lot? I am more invested this game than usual because Jack is playing, but I'm not going to alter my meta a great deal, even so. I need a couple of lynches to analyze before I get going. I wish I could change that, and I'm trying to, but that's the way it is. Des is stretching the truth to a ridiculous length, and I see that as scum trying to get me lynched.

Posted

Perhaps you should explain it then Lily.

@Err - could you explain how you think Wombat and Lily would be my teammates based off your D1 vote chart?

Posted

It is irrelevant who X voted for as he was vanilla town and it was day 1. He'd have no knowledge as to who was scum or town.

Jack this statement is garbage.

its a speculation even if a very week one..... first X was the only candidate to be lynched with no other candidate even near.... people were cautious to be the last few votes on him in this situation (including me).... then a train started forming on you... then we see Lily, wombat and u jumping on X train..... so if i believe u to be scum... i see this kind of a play to secure a lynch on scum terms.

Jack this statement is garbage.

How?

The only person X knew 100% who was not mafia was himself. If you think otherwise you are wrong. No questions about it. And just because he's dead does not give anything he said any more weight then it would normally have.

Sure it does. We know he was town therefore his viewpoint was legit. Just because it was D1 and he was VT doesn't mean we should take his statements to mean nothing. I'm not saying we should follow his suspicions, but to say they don't matter at all is just foolish.

And kinda sus since he was voting Lily by chance. You seem pretty hell bent on sticking up for her at every opportunity

Aj, you've never seen us play together before, but we can read each other really well, so from early on, we either go at each other fiercely or work in tandem.

Posted

@Err I voted and revoted the same people numerous times because I was okay with either lynch based on behavior. Also, I stated and stand by why X and AJ looked scummy

Lolz. The place he meant it from was genuine sure. But his statements don't mean anything. He had no super natural insight to the game, no role to gain any.

And you seemed like you picked up something I dropped earlier yet you insist on pushing. Hmmm what does that say about you.

And yes, I defend lily, we work well together. When I think we are town together or when we are on a scum team together.

These past several pages have made me glad that people have to take me at face value, with no meta-gaming getting in the way.

Sorry I came late to the party. It shouldn't be as big a problem after tomorrow. Let me make up for it by getting rid of the obvious statements so that nobody else has to say them:

"There is scum to be found on X's lynch!"

"Not all the scum are there; check the other votes!"

"Quibby is all that is awesome!"

... Okay, maybe that last one is just me, but the other two have now been said, and I guarantee that somebody was thinking them somewhere.

Unfortunately, I don't have any amazing insights to contribute at the moment. The bickering between AJ and Jack is kind of interesting, as is Lily's defense of Jack. I'm just not sure why it's so interesting yet.

u keep discrediting the deceased..... i have to now check what exactly X said about u that u seem afraid of

@err not afraid, he just had no other insight. Just cause he's dead, doesn't mean he's omniscient. If I have to explain why this is, then cause is already lost. And any further statement about this will be personally ignored.

"Calm down, Mr Carter, please!" Professor Armitage implored. "What happened to Harley Warren? He vanished into a tomb?"

Carter took a deep breath, and stopped his babbling. "I-I tried to save him, tried to follow, but... Something took him down there. Something... Inhuman!"

Inspector Legrasse, who had been taking Carter's statement, interjected gruffly, "Inhuman? You don't expect us to believe such nonsense, do you? How do we know that you aren't one of the murderers whom we seek?"

Carter shook his head, "no, no, I would never hurt Warren, we-"

Armitage put a reassuring hand on Carter's back. "It's ok Mr Carter, I believe your story."

Legrasse balked, "Surely not! My men aren't even able to find the so-called tomb-"

Armitage raised his other hand to silence the Inspector. "Mr Legrasse, please. Believe me when I tell you that there are forces at work here beyond our understanding. I have seen them. And so have you, whether you realize it or not." Legrasse was silent, his face an unreadable mask.

"I think it best," The professor continued, "If we all retire to our beds. But be wary, for dark things will stalk this night I think."

..........

Armitage awoke, late at night, having been tormented by nightmares of a sunken, cyclopean city with mind bending non-Euclidean architecture. In his dream voices and whispers had assailed him, and he saw Ernest writhing in torment, begging for his help as an unseen monstrosity devoured him piece by piece.

But Armitage awoke to a much more tangible horror.

The professor tried to move his hands and feet, but found them bound to the bed. Except it was not his bed, and not his room, but a hard, cold stone slab inside what appeared to be a fisherman's shack. The whole place reeked of rotting fish and the sea, so Armitage surmised that he was on or near the river Miskatonic. Suddenly the door opened, and several figures, clad in black robes, shuffled in. The figures encircled the slab, and one of them drew a curved, wicked-looking knife from his robes. The figures began chanting in an alien tongue. Armitage struggled, but could not break free of his bonds. As the chanting reached a crescendo, the lead cultist raised his knife and Armitage accepted his fate. "Who are you? Why have you done this?" he demanded to know.

The lead cultist smiled in the shadow of his hood, and shrugged off his cowl. Armitage's eyes narrowed, "You!" As he cried out, the cultists cried in unison, "CTHULHU FHTAGN!!!" and plunged the knife into the old professor's heart.

AJ contradicted himself.

He believes you acted scummy. Yet unvotes you and votes Lily for leaving you at L-2, even though she stated she thought you were acting suspicious.

"IF" I'm remembering correctly (I say if cause I'm on dm mobile and can't check for positive)

He (AJ) then goes on about waiting for a deadline but also flipping on the same issue.

You're WAAAAY oversimplifying things here dude. You're just rolling over what caused AJ to remove his vote from X in the first place. You can think someone is scummy but then change your mind depending on circumstances. He found the quick train in addition to Lily's feux caution to be possible indicators of X being newbtown instead of newbscum.

I see no contradiction here whatsoever.

I'm liking the X lynch, but I am curious about AJ as well. I could vote there, also.

Des, what is all this about me and Jack, me and Jack? My play should be different because he's here? FOS for all that.

Lee, thanks for letting me know that because I play focused it comes off as scummy. I'll try to avoid that in the future.

I had a busy day yesterday, which is one reason there weren't a lot of posts. I'll see if I can step it up today and at least have more content.

What what WHAT???

Do you know how many times I've seen you not participate in much in a mafia game, and state that it's because you're not as comfortable with the other players, and that you always do better and are more active when Jack is in the game? You've said it a number of times. Would you like for me to fetch quotes from other games?

Nope, there's a red flag. The train is flagged down

Hahaahhahahaha-NO.

Attempt to force casual response after being caught with defensive one denied. You are teh scum.

Feel like spewing your teammates just for the heck of it?

You voted two posts later after this joking back and forth. Before X squirmed.

Eh? X started squirming immediately, his first response to my vote was bad. He continued squirming after that, but yeah your point here is invalid imo.

AJ, have you not heard of courtesy? It's a courteous thing to do to allow a person to speak when they are at L-2. I'm truly sorry you don't see that, but that's the way it is, or is supposed to be, anyway.

Wait so your reasons for not voting X immediately AREN'T what Jack said they were? Then why didn't you correct him at the time?

He said you didn't vote because you were waiting for a claim. You say you didn't because of courtesy. Which is it?

Here are my reads as of this moment.

1:Err – not enough content that stuck out to me

2:Ishy - null

3:Jack – leaning town

4:Lily – town of course

5:Quibby - null

6:Leelou  - gut says might be scum

7:Des – Post #185. Spinning my meta into incorrect statements. Scum

8:Verbal – not enough content

9:Andrej – Hammering a case home, hoping someone else will believe it if they see it enough. Scum.

10:Zanube – not enough content

11:Wombat – need to look at him closer to get a read.

Coming back to this- this reads list is garbo in several different ways. A ton of nulls even tho they're worded differently to make it seem like they're different. Only one town read, on the person White Knighting her. Two OMGUS scum reads, poor reasoning on both. And a "gut" scumread on Leelou, even tho Lily hasn't once questioned or FOS'd Leelou all game.

So, anybody who catches you on your spinning is automatically scum. Noted.

This post smells like week old fish.

Lily I have a town read. Like 70%

Why do you feel that about me? You didn't give a reason.

What about me seems scummy to you? Don't just parrot what anyone else has said either, put it in your own words.

Lily - Not commenting on much, and put out a "I don't wanna rush things, let's hear from him first" post which could have either been scum trying to stall a teammate's lynch, or scum trying to get towncred by preaching caution (this is something Lily often does as scum). Blue - simply not true eh? YOU JUST DID THIS LAST GAME YOU WERE SCUM.

From the Once upon a Time game in Thak:

Unvote

For now. I don't want to be hasty with this lynch. I've had a busy weekend, and can't really focus on the game until tomorrow late afternoon. I'll vote then.

Lily - Cora - Mafia Goon has won!

That's certainly not the first time you've done that either. It's one of your biggest scumtells in fact, trying to look like a cautious townie.

I already sort of addressed the green, but yeah for a while you really weren't participating much, and definitely weren't commenting on much at all. Your activity ramped up a lot once the hammer fell, funny how that goes. But you've given every indication in recent games that when you play with Jack you're much more comfortable and more likely to post gameplay posts. This wasn't the case for a while.

Aj, you've never seen us play together before, but we can read each other really well, so from early on, we either go at each other fiercely or work in tandem.

You two were linking and colluding with one another before it can be reasonable said that you could even have townreads on eachother yet. I think you'd had two posts when Jack first came to your defense.

Where did I defend Jack? I don't remember that.

OMG R U SRS???

@err not afraid, he just had no other insight. Just cause he's dead, doesn't mean he's omniscient. If I have to explain why this is, then cause is already lost. And any further statement about this will be personally ignored.

Yall are both basically half-right. X's words DO carry more weight because there's no wifom about his alignment, we KNOW that what he was saying were his genuine reads and thoughts. Everyone else alive still has ambiguity which will make their words go through other people's skeptical filters.

That being said, X didn't play an outstanding game really and kinda drew attention to himself with his play and never really tried scumhunting instead of just defending himself. Putting too much weight to his words prob wouldn't help town much in these circumstances.
