Day 1 in this game was some of the most fun I've ever had scumming in a game

Easily the most fun I've had on DM

Some of your rules here bother me though like the "if no maj, random covered up death"

Posted

you should give a tutorial on mobile formatting here.

I was feeling bad about the vote code fails but srsly that's a valuable tactic and I'm not gonna assume someone's just not getting it when they might be a tricksy wabbit.

Like i said in game, it's great motivation for town doing scumhunting earlier in day phases as opposed to later.

Ive actually gotten quite good at mobile formatting hehe. I can even do WoT's but it's more of a pita than you can imagine.

Very true.

:lan: is a great WOT version of

It's funny how the straight face on here is "mellow". I use it for my fake poker face to try and hint at a gambit to other townies.

You can just copy Darthe's format for Des WoTs to make it easier

Hey Cory you wanna pluck out some "posts of the game?" I have a few in mind I bet you do too

I also think modkills and replacements should not happen until phase changes

Not in the middle of a round

Modkills due to inactivity usually are during phase changes. Due to rule violations tho they kinda have to be done immediately, often for good reason.

I don't get why replacements should be done at phase changes.

and yet you considered letting a vote go random yourself. it's a lame way to win, granted, but you might have. I've considered it as scum. darthe got himself lynched forcing a random as scum in a game he'd nearly won.

you've seen how activity can drop off on a site where most ppl are students or work afk, and you've seen players get a fire lit under their butts at DL to get off the pots or... face elimination...

that's one of the rules most mods here use and while I can appreciate that you're not used to it and don't like it I didn't really appreciate being put in a position of having to defend it during the game. Basel's not the kind of mod who'd penalize you for arguing with him. some mods would tho.

All a mod has to do is say "yes I agree" or "no I do not agree" or "I will keep it in mind for next time" and close the subject for that specific game, there's no reason to penalize a player for a disagreement

My opinion is that the job of the mods is to serve the players, some mods (I am not saying you, but I've seen this happen) treat the games as if the players are there to amuse them, and I hate that attitude

Basel seems like a chill guy though and I'd definitely play with him / in his games again

yeah once more that's nice to know but you don't know the stuff we were presented with and there was no way to let a spot go empty for 72 hours.

and it didn't cost you the mislynch you sought cause you just drove the sheep right back on.

nobody enjoyed dealing with 5 replacements.

I have no doubt you'd have handled it much better.

I've no doubt it's handled much better everywhere else.

I can't wait for you to start modding so you can make things better.

This is what I got to say and I do mean it the best possible way. You're one of my favourite players Despo. So I really do hope you won't mind my criticism and will take my words seriously.

Finished the dead thread.

Cindy, I stopped letting that kind of stuff get to me as much a long time ago- just sad that a lot of people who play with me regularly and see me consistently make good plays will constantly trash my play on dead threads. I really do get picked on more than most. Its cool tho, I got thick skin!

I'm not saying this was one of my best games, but it was far and away from being anywhere near my worst.

You should think about why you get picked on.

I helped lynch Xthrax, who was put in a really bad position by Nol subbing out when he did.

Yup.

I helped lynch Krak, and I'm sorry but he did himself no favors. Came in like #yolo with his vote on Tommy. He was right, but he really didn't case him at all... And really didn't defend himself once votes started piling on.

True to an extent.

I have no shame in being wrong about Tommy most the game- dude is a pro mafia player. Once POE ran against him tho I saw the light stronger than ever.

You saw the light when you had no one else left to suspect. Everyone else was... Lock Clear.

I had a scunread on Kronos most the game. Figured I would use VC analysis to prove him scum towards end game.

I suuppose I can buy that. In that case, you've been playing bad and careless. You got a scumread (well, to quote your earlier post, a top scum PR read) - lynch him or get him vigged.

You can get killed. You can lose all credibility and get lynched when that decides the game. If it wasn't for Monk's great shot, you WOULD have lost town the game (and yes, you) cause you'd have been lynched for playing maffia MVP all game. You still almost got lynched and it might have cost town the game there easily.

Was instrumental in lynching TG. Instrumental in lynching Hallia. And big time instrumental in lynching Tommy.

I'm pretty sure you're misleading yourself in retrospect. Like, very often.

I suggest that you take notes of your 'true reads' and intentions next game. Then check them when the game is over.

I also believe that your "fake cases" and tunnels hurt town more than they help them.

Yet I was the scum MVP. LAWLZ.

No, scum MVP was Tommy.

@Des please read the PM at least. Pretty please. You're awake enough to play mafia, so you can at least help me out by reading it.

@Cindy and Basel; personally I think it's much better to get a person replaced ASAP.

@Tommy, no majority = no coroners given is the standard here. Got an issue with it? Write a thread and start a discussion. Don't be rude to the mods in this game over it.

I do agree that mods shouldn't discipline players for disagreeing with them.

But on the flip side, Tommy's comments about the random rule didn't really belong in the game as it wasn't really specific to the game- its an extremely common rule here. Would have been better to discuss in a separate thread on the mafia board.

Basel is a very chill guy.

yup sure would been nice to end it at no.

I had a very major headache many days (I am not saying you, there was a ton of crap flying around here at times behind the scenes) and my last nerve was danced on many times.

but I had a lot of fun too and I think the game came down to good gameplay and some luck as it should have, and as I don't like to play bickering idiots ... I should do stuff.

I considered that 100% gameplay.

But yea I agree it shouldn't be discussed during a game, I didn't like that.

I hadn't seen it before in a game on DM, I think this is my third or fourth game here, so I thought it was specific to this game and it caught me by surprise so I went on expounding its evils in the mafia chat, but after I aired my grievances I dropped it and didn't bring it up again.
