Yes, the NK is not compulsive. It's an important mechanic in this set-up for them to be able to holster or not upon their choosing.

Sorry for the delay. Just had a delicious steak dinner with a few glasses of wine.

He had spent nearly an hour staring at the screen, typing out sentences and paragraphs before pausing to reread them with a frown. Nothing satisfied him, and yet nothing blossomed in his mind either.

 

The woman didn't help either. Whenever he tried to focus she'd butt in with another question about which picture he preferred to go in the frames she'd just bought. Like he cared. Just fill the damn things and he'd hang them sometime tomorrow.

 

...maybe.

 

The epic ending scene he had hoped for eluded him. Taunted him. It felt just within his grasp but would only wiggle away again once his fingers tried to close around it.

 

Oh well.

 

The wolves had been slain and the villagers had prevailed.
