Let's break it down.  There's been 3 games I've been exactly right about you.  Going all the way back to you being a CL and I called it.  Along with the harem you recruited.  To the most recent where you killed me night 1, after I called it.

 

Then there are games when I am scum and you are town.   Not sure on any of those that I've led cases against you.  (considering I rarely lead cases as scum.) 

 

Then there are games where I've been town and you are town and I've not given you a hard look at all.

 

Then there are games where we are scum together.

 

So, where does that lead us?  Oh yeah..to your horrible logic fail where you say I've accused you of being scum in the past 20 games we've played together.

Fair amount I need to catch up on, but I wanna snack down first. Briefly tho, regarding Peace vs. Ishy, between the two Peace does seem more on his meta. Ishy seems a lot more confrontational than I am used to seeing him, that seems strange to me.

 

Deadline is coming so we need to figure out who is going to be our lynch QUICKLY, in order for them to have time to possibly claim. And if you're one of the prime suspects, keep in mind that a late claim may just screw over town's chances of securing a lynch on someone else.

See, this is why I wish the "joke vote stage" didn't even exist. Seems like peeps always get to fall back on that excuse time and time again. A vote doesn't have to be super serial on day 1, but it's just counterproductive to "joke" with a vote like that.

I disagree actually. Grasping at straws is called out a lot, but on day 1 I find it to be a very protown move. It shows the first sign that someone is committed to finding scum. Obviously, with little to go on, anyone will look like they are "grasping at straws" initially.

 

So yeah, still don't like your "joke" vote. In fact, it feels like it was more of a distancing vote to me. Will get to that later.

Okay so first off I wanna say that I generally don't like voting an outlier with a deadline coming up, but right now it looks like it's shaping up to be either Ishy or Peace for the lynch, and I'm not crazy about either for today. It's not that both seem extremely town to me, it's because their little spat looks genuine, doesn't look like a gambit or anything, and their spat has more to do with stuff in general between them, notsomuch this game specifically. As such, a lynch on either isn't really that informative for town. So I really think we should consider other options, and FAST. Here's hoping yall consider this one:

 

Leelou - I didn't grab all her quotes, but pretty much most of her posts are fluff this game. Not necessarily a huge indictment on its own, as she generally warms up a lot more scumhunting wise as the game develops more. However, still worth noting.

 

The next thing I found is that she has said multiple times about how she's trying to "get into" the game. Now, sorry to bring this up, but I know she has some personal stuff she's going through, so I completely understand how that could make it hard for her to get into a game. However, the fact that she repeats this sentiment so many times throughout the short game...

 

Too early for this. 

 

 

I love that you guys are jumping right into the game, but for now I'm going to sit back and wait for everyone to actually show up. Right now you all seem to be grasping at straws. 

 

 

The game started late on a weekend, Activity will probably pick up when people get to work. Also, I am not seeing normal Day 1 banter, but people jumping right into the game over the smallest things before everyone shows up and we get reactions from everyone.

Prompting Leelou to post this blurb about him following too closely.... Yeah this looks mega-weird to be upon reflection. She's made a big show out of her and Verb following eachother this game already, so why NOW mention this?

 

And this brings me to another point I wanted to make about her that I alluded to before- I think Leelou is trying to "force" her meta here. She has gotten called out for Verbal many times in previous games, and sort of seemed to disagree with the perception recently. Yet here she comes out the gate making such a big show out of them hopping on diff trains together. Seems to me that if Leelou disagreed with the perception, she'd work harder to dispell it, not the other way around.

 

Anyways, imo what happens here is that she feels she HAS to call out Verbal's buddying in some way, so does it after he votes alongside her, even tho they had already pretty much agreed to following eachother on diff trains earlier in the day.

 

 

Not ready to jump to a train that consists of an OMGUS and the hoppin twins.

 

You just aren't awesome like us. 

 

 

And then right after attempting to put some distance between her and Verb, or making it look like she wants to, she goes right back to linking herself to him once again in response to me.

And then bandwagons onto Peace. She earlier voted Ishy for dubious stuff, then switches to Peace when he was at the time, the highest train. Yet Ishy has peeps on him as well... why ditch someone you have as an apparent scum read for a consolidation vote on someone else, after nudging a nonexistant train on Mish.... yeah all this doesn't add up.

 

Mostly, the thing that doesn't jive to me about Leelou's game is that she seems both apathetic and not wanting to get serious yet, yet also seems to be happy to hop on w/e train looks like it will take off soon, her voting is way too opportunistic. A townie justification for this could be trying to get the game started, but by her own admission she's not really interested in that. Ergo, she looks like scum to me.

Reading your case Des, I do agree with you about Leelou, and I haven't been liking her play this game.

First of all Hoof, youre trying to downplay the case on you by saying "Gosh, y'all are voting me for a joke vote?!" It's day 1. We spent far too much of it joking and fluffing, so this is pretty much what we have to go on. Don't act so surprised.

 

Second, I don't buy that it really was a joke vote. No offense, but your sense of humor is dark at times mebbe, but not that subtle. That post of yours that I quoted in my Leelou case shows you resolidifying your stance on Leelou, and in no way does it seem jokey or sarcastic to me.

 

Third, even if it was a joke, it was extremely poorly executed. And this might sound harsh, but I'd have no qualms whatsoever about someone getting lynched for a poorly executed joke vote on day 1. They serve to distract town, give scum an excuse for a sketchy looking vote early in games, and add to the "jokey" feel of day 1 that usually stops town from actually scumhunting. I know some don't like that I get serious early, but I do it to help my team win. I'm not serious all the time, but on day 1 when others are fluffing I'd rather get the game going.

 

Lastly, you fos'd multiple people a second ago when you revoted Leelou for "not scumhunting", but this is something you yourself are more than guilty of, especially if we believe that your first vote on Leelou was a joke. After calling Ishy out for hypocrisy multiple times and feeling that is something worth voting over (being hypocritical), how can you act so incredulous at votes on yourself? Would have been better imo to just come out humble and say you screwed up instead of that defense you posted.

In the context of the weird straw-grasping that had been going on so far, straw-grasping can hardly be seen as a good thing, to my mind. If you disagree, that is fine, but to me, grasping at straws like the way people begin the game in their first post is a little... crazy....

See the emphasis on those words? That is not serious at all. I might have said "it is far scummier for Leelou to not be participating in the game" or "it is far scummier for Leelou to not be voting players on Day 1 when we have little to go on anyway" but instead I used the phrase "grasping at straws", which is used in an almost universally negative way.

You brought up info in your case, as reasons to not vote Ishy or Peace, and as a reason to lynch Leelou.... but by your own logic, we gain no more info from my lynch than from theirs, therefore we should still vote Leelou. I agree with your case on her, at least I think that there is more reason to lynch her than anyone else currently.
