I agree that it's most likely a cult or cultifia since nobody has claimed vig shots, there haven't been enough night kills for anything else (and I think a third party would be hard to balance with a cult).  There also has to be some sort of restriction on the recruit ability either an x-shot or it dies with the CL (which I assume was Des given his and Goldens respective flips).

So yeah - there is an "infection" phase before somebody is turned.  Des being Alpha was obv CL.

 

Either way, we prob need to lynch scum again.

 

Any more info on the infectious phase?  Does that mean you could protect against the infection but not the night kill or vice versa? 

 

I wonder if they can still bite.  If not, then Des could only have recruited 3.

 

Or 2 if the Night Kill was theirs, I don't think they could have both night killed and recruited on the same night or we're still several night kills short.

I also think it likely that Leelou was recruited N0, I don't know if Des would risk recruiting someone getting as much attention as Golden from Day 2 onwards.  I guess it's possible that he was recruited N1 as Des might have thought it safe since all the attention shifted from Leelou to Cloud and Blackhoof after Golden replaced in, but that would mean we have a different N1 killer.

Once converted, I don't think I can "cure" them.  But I can protect them during that infection phase and stop the recruit.  Sadly, that hasn't happened in this game.  I would have been shooting blind anyway, so meh.

As swingy and unpredictable as Cult games are, trying to figure out game mechanics is going to be futile imo. We have no way of knowing if Des's recruit ability was X-shot, or on alternating nights, or took place every night, or if Nol granted them a backup recruiter, or anything. So that being said, it seems obvious what you're trying to accomplish with your request of us to state our alignments. I'm going to wait to vote until we all do so and you get back to us. But just going by what we've seen to this point, Pral still remains my biggest scum read, followed by Wom, only because many of you seem to have deduced that Verb can block recruiting via his Doc skills. And he stated that he self-protected every night. It's all wifom whether he actually did so or not, but it's all I've got right now.

I'm in agreement with you, but I think Wombat was defending Pralaya pretty hard the other day.  Definitely makes me wonder about the motives.  I kept stating that I only thought one of Des or Wombat was scum, but that was a lie.  I was looking to see if Wombat relaxed with me, but he really didn't....so kudos to him if he's scum.  He didn't fall for the easy slip that many do.

 

I also have a town read on BFG, and mostly you as well.  Questionable on both Wombat & Pralaya.

This is the main reason Wom has moved up into the second tier of suss for me. By itself, it isn't enough to make him my main suspect, Pral is still that for me, but it definitely smells.
