Greek Mythology: Man Vs. Gods [Advanced] - GAME OVER - TOWN WINS!

I said the bolded as a trap. I was somewhat confused by the announcement of Persephone being town, considering the theme and my role pm clearly make me believe the Gods are supposed to be the scum in this game. I decided that the fact that Persephone was an Innocent Child however, was probably the reason for this confusion. I think RTE might have put the role/character in the game as either a means of mod-induced wifom, or for balance purposes. Either way, I thought it likely that the scum might try and spring on this and use this to try and breadcrumb the concept of other gods being either good or not scum. So I figured I'd make it look more enticing and laid my trap. I can't say for sure that it worked on Pralaya, he may have come in with the leading setup talk without my post. But I can say with confidence that Pralaya IS scum, for doing exactly what I thought scum might do after Persephone's reveal.

And Wombat, kinda disappointed in you. Figured you would have picked up on the trap, seeing as how you saw me do the exact same thing as town in your own game (the trithread game with Darthe). I have often scolded others for the use of setup talk, but the fact is I love using it as a trap for scum when I'm town. As scum, I wait for others to introduce it and see if I have an opportunity to manipulate town from it, I don't introduce it myself.

Your point? I never said it told me who specifically was mafia, which is what you were trying to make it look like I said

A God is a confirmed Town. I am a God and am Town.

Despo says he is not a God.

Perhaps our brave little humans are the Mafia Team seeking to overthrow our rightful place in the cosmos.

We often get so caught up in bad and good that we forget that actually it's us vs them.

Unvote - Vote Despo

As discussed by plenty of people plenty of times before: race is not important, nor relevant.

@Ithi: Okay lemme put it this way. My role pm makes it extremely clear to me that the mafia team are Gods.

The only way I see that being true is you being mafia yourself, or you lying. Which is the same thing.

I'm gonna do something many don't like, and link up Pralaya and Wombat. I was mafia with Wombat last game, and how he's taking the heat off Pralaya is similar to what he did in that game ...

BTW, for the point of it I am a Titan and I am town too.

Anybody wanna argue about specific factions being town/scum?

See? If anyone dares say this, I guess it proves the uselessness of guessing which race we all are.

Thorum, I don't like how he started right off the bat with that little story about the Wombat and then going on with Ithi.

I think it was a lovely story, and I sincerely hope I'm not alone in that.

two pages left to go

I am confused as to why people saying I am this and I am Town would be universally believed. I don't know if these people are Town or not. They could very well be likely. For all I know I am completely right and the Humans are the Mafia. Or Perhaps the Titans are. The only thing I know for sure is at least two of the Gods are not Mafia.

And yes ... posting shed loads about stuff we aren't allowed to use is pointless.

You said that it said the GODS.

Why do you wriggle so much. If you got confused and thought wrong just say so, instead of making out like you didn't actually say what you said.

Is this a man thing I wonder?

I make mistakes all the times in Games - because I have to try and remember far too much - but at least if I'm wrong I say so. You just twisting about and doing the whole 'But ahaaaaa what I said was not actually what I said' really doesn't inspire me to trust you at all.

And now I have to work.

I tell you, between this new Game that Berf Berfington has introduced me too - and actually being busy at work - my DM time has been drastically reduced.

Maybe this will finally be the Game that I actually manage to lurk

I think you need to brush up on your Greek mythology, Despo.  There are plenty of Titans who weren't tyrants.

And there were plenty of Olympians who were.

Unless you already knew that and you're just Prometheus-fishing.  This is going beyond regular Despo scumminess.  Feels like you might be forcing your meta.

Had I seen this post, I wouldn't have mentioned the potential Pralaya-Wombat connection.

Do you guys need me to make an Ithi case or something?  This really isn't that hard.

Casing on day one? No.

Plenty have posted, but still no answer :( : who's Rory?

You sure are a funny guy Thorum

Check the timestamps bro:

Indeed, that previous post could already be interpreted for quezstioning. My reasoning only came in the post after yours, so that's why I got confuddled.

*Crosses fingers that the quotes will work*

I did say Gods, and I stand by that. That doesn't mean I was specifically told which players were scum, or even which specific gods.

I don't think I've made any mistakes with my reasoning, but of course that's possible. Either way, my job is to make sure scum die, not to convince you to trust me Ithi. Not even sure that's possible lol, you generally aren't a very trusting person in mafia.

How can this be true AND you not being mafia?

And I don't think many will believe it if your answer contains the word "trap".

Unfortunately, I won't be revealing that at this time Dice, for two reasons: I'm restricted in what I can reveal about my pm because it would make it crazy obvious who I am, and revealing what it is would greatly diminish the effectiveness of my role, pretty much make it of no help to town at all. Also, when I first started talking about the gods being mafia, I hadn't anticipated a Titan claiming, and this actually kind of changes how I have to approach my role.

I understand this isn't very helpful, but unfortunately those are the breaks.

Maybe Despo is Cassandra ... blessed with the knowledge of exactly what is happening in the Game, but doomed to never be believed.

Oh well.

Hehe that would be ironic

Can't tell if trying to softclaim or trying to draw NK

Desp you are pinging all over the place buddy. You and Basel are my top two fosho.

In my experience, if you don't want speculation growing as to who you are, one shuts up about who one may or may not be.

And furthermore you've already 'revealed' that you are a threat to mafia. You are a target. If you didn't want to be a target, you wouldn't have brought any of this up to my mind.

I was expecting a bit more from Basel.. He seems to be just giving up while I think there haven't been that many votes on him. Thorum's play is just weird and he seems to be all over the place.

Despo claims to have some kind of PR that lets him know that the gods are mafia but he isn't voting for Ithi because of her timing when she claimed to be a god?

Posted

Also Darthe, why do you think that Ithi is mafia? You mentioned something about being too lazy to build a case against her but that just everyone should vote for her. Why do you think that?

Don't forget I was offline during the weekend, so the last two pages are basically me catching up, while trying to answer direct questions at the same time.

DESP:

Claims he has "trapped" Praya. Doesn't seem to go with the case after catching some suspicion for said "trap".

Calls him out for mentioning a 3rd party, and later mentions a 3rd party himself because somehow it was appropriate at that stage and not when Praya bought it up.

Also not happy with Praya for a lot of setup talk, and wouldn't you know it, 6 or 7 or Desp's posts have set up talk in them. Or are entirely setup talk.

Switched to MCS vote for 'slipping' out a God claim - signs of an opportunistic distraction.

But ultimately, Desp seems to be claiming SOME sort of role. He also previously mentioned that he is hesitant to use a "trap" because they generally backfire and get the Trapper lynched.

If you had a juicy town role, why risk your neck and role like that?

UNVOTE VOTE DESP

Finally on your 4th Post about Despo being Mafia you decide to Vote him @ Berf.

Well done. Nothing suspicious there at all. Also says a threat to mafia ... not a threat to The Mafia. I think I had you banged to rights in the first place.

Unvote - Vote Berf
