It's an account that is used by two players. Imagine a mason with one life.

I know of an alt one game that was a hydra, took everyone forever to figure it out.

Yeah, that's what it was. I'm not sure if I even knew who my partner was.

Oh so it's happened twice? The time I'm talking about was me, DPR and Nae.

If you mean Kivam's Avatar game, I was the other side.  ;-)

I thought I felt something weird pressing against my leg that whole game...

Turns out it was my hydra.

From what I saw, Ape was doing a somewhat toned down Ape thing on the football board and slats told him to stop calling people stupid and said that if Ape responded with a semantic argument about how he was calling posts or arguments stupid and not posters that he would ban him.

So Ape responded with "Troll."

And the rest is history.

Actually, I was arguing what I felt was a relevant point of view with a guy that I get along with great. So it was really no harm, no foul, no insults, we were just trying to appeal to each other's different points of view. When Slats came in spinning it as me calling people stupid, it was so over-exaggerated I assumed he was messing with me.

Slats does not like Ape.  No mod should take a personal vendetta like that - if he continues, he should be removed from staff.  I'd do it in a heartbeat if I felt any of my staff were abusing their powers.

Unless I do it, in which case it is ok because I'm awesome*.

/BAMF'd

* I'm kidding, of course.  Not about being awesome, but about abusing my powers.  Maybe.

To be honest, I always thought the "Slats hates Ape" thing was schtick.

I mean, our persona's are very similar - arrogant, know-it-alls. Except with me, I do it because when I'm made to look dumb it's funny for everyone. It's all part of my self-deprecating, all-bark, no bite persona... With him, you prove him wrong and apparently he gets butthurt and holds a grudge?

He really has no business being a mod if all he can see fit to do is exploit the power to "teach me a lesson". He's one of the most pompous and praise-needy people on JN, and is always quick to show people how stupid they are. Always. I treat him as an equal, as a contemporary, rather than laud him with compliments about being "super smart", and in turn he harbors contempt?

My entire history with him has been him calling ME stupid, and threatening to "teach me a lesson", while I call him a hippie and think it's all for lulz.

I kind of feel bad for the guy, it's like I pulled back the curtain to expose the wizard as nothing more than a petty, miserable old fart.

^You're an ass, but you do it jokingly and everyone knows that.  It's why people like you.

I do seem to remember winning that game - despite all that dead weight I was lugging around.

I just looked back - you weren't on the Hydra with me in Avatar - it was Wombat.  He had to drop and Mynd took over.  So blah!

Hush, you don't even know who slats is.

I try to do it jokingly, and there are plenty of times where I lay it on too thick, and I like to think I've always been good about knowing when and appropriately apologizing.

Anyway, maybe he's got some stuff going on in his life making him extra ornery or something. You never know... speaking of which, did that kid Jon Snow ever show back up here?

You guys are in trouble. I'm just some newb bungling his way through games compared to Ree...

Ha! I think we are pretty evenly matched. Our series is tied 1-1 for now.

I am a private investigator IRL though. Between the two of us, we should dominate! Bwahahaha!

What is this everyone has night talk business? You can edit posts...? Could be interesting...

How about you me and Serra start off with tactic A1 then follow it up with.. you know... ;)

They'll never see it coming....

@Darth, I don't swear or insult so no worries there. I'm wrapping up my MS games so I can work with the time constraints. Adapting shouldn't be an issue.

I was thinking the Inverted Bernoulli gambit as a follow up.  Possibly finish with a backward pawn breakthrough?

Also, they don't know about Amished or Beetlejuice...  To OUR advantage!
