Physical Description: Hair: Warm brown, cropped at about her shoulders. Eyes: Hazelnut brown. Complexion: Pale skin with freckles on her nose and cheeks. Height: 5’6â€. Build: Buxom with pear shaped body and generous hips. Face: She has been an Aes Sedai only for two years and has not yet reached the ageless face.

Age: 42

Character History: Abril had a happy and fairly normal childhood in a middle class family. She learned to read at age of seven and in a family that valued learning, she devoured books of many topics and constantly asked questions, something she learned to moderate after her mother started teaching her to be more womanly to be able to get married one day, resorting even to strap just for own good. The curiousity went nowhere, but she became proficient at hiding her thirst for knowledge. She stumbled upon her father\'s secret, printing of illegal and rebellious books that for example tried to urge the peasants and poor people to resist the nobles and read and absorbed some of the radical ideas about necessary social changes.

 

 

 

Her whole world changed when she was 13 and her father was caught and hanged. The family\'s property was siezed and they had to move to the poorest quarter of the city. Her brothers had been working in the press and now they were forced to take hire as sailors and the family saw them very rarely. They sent all the meager money they could make to the family, but Abril and her mother were forced to become barmaids in a local lower than low class tavern. Abril\'s mother, grieving and depressed by her husband\'s fate caught an epidemic and despite Abril\'s best efforts and the Wise Woman\'s charity, she died within a week. And it didn\'t end there since Abril\'s young sister Brisa got sick too. She recovered but remained feeble afterwards and after suffering a year, finally found release in Creator\'s embrace. The back-breaking hard work and constantly avoiding the lecherous drunken customers left Abril too tired to even rage at the futility and unfairness of it all, but when ever she laid the blame, it fell on the feet of the nobles who had killed her father and bitterness toward the Pattern and the Creator for making them suffer so unnecessarily. She stopped praying him anymore since he didn\'t care.

 

 

 

When she had turned 15, she was taken her away from Tear and the misery her life had become. The local Wise Woman gathered quietly girls to be tested by an Aes Sedai and Abril was found to be able to learn to channel. Her brothers cut all contact with her, a fact she mourns, but Abril couldn\'t revile herself after everything that had happened and embraced the Tower as a chance for better life. If the nobles thought that Aes Sedai were bad and manipulating people, they had to be just the opposite.

 

 

 

Abril found her novice times to be a betterment to life in seedy underbelly of Tear and with time she dared to be curious again and enjoy learning. By the time she had been Raised to Accepted, she had begun to grow seriously disillusioned with the Aes Sedai. They were just sitting on their fat bums and doing nothing for the world despite calling themselves Sevants of All. They were just as bad as the nobles. She directed her anger to debating and her mentor and teachers (mostly Whites) scolded her for being too passionate and allowing her emotions interfere. They tried to push her toward the Brown and Blue Ajahs, but she saw the White Ajah as the chance to combine her love for advanced math and philosophical questions with putting its principles into practice. Idealistically she also thought she could change the Ajah more progressive from inside. Since the White Sisters could not refuse her petition when she was Raised to the Shawl, a White she became.

Additional Notes: I used to play Arette Nenatiar of the Brown Ajah and I went through the training hoops then. I created a new Brown Sister by name Callie Redhill but I barely ever played her so I hereby drop her as a PC and have this one instead.

 

 

 

Cata will NOT be an old AS. Her Raising happened ICly only two years before the Main Plotline.
