I say it all the time. It is my mafia mantra. The deeper into a game you get the more likely it is that the clean players are scum, scum knows how NOT to look dirty all along, while townies can't help it.

I have made more mistakes this game than I can count and if you would take the effort to go back in the thread you could easily find them. I'm honestly surprised that I have not been killed ages ago.

And Mish, you don't know a thing about my meta and if you are by any chance serious about this then you should just quit playing Mafia.

You really think DPR designed the game this straight forward and didn't give scum teh ability to alter results in any way? Look at the amount of viewings and vig kills we've had relative to the amount of conversions we've seen. DPR has told us exactly how limited the conversion ability for scum is, and has told us exactly how many we are looking for in each phase.

It would be illogical for him NOT to provide scum with some sort of framing ability. Bad balance. With all the games he's designed, do you think he really effed the balance up that bad here?

How is my logic not spot on?

Most games use some form of altered results, be it a godfather, or miller, or framer in some way to impact balance. You can say it's illogical all you want, but that doesn't make it so. The reality is that in mafia, roles/abilities exist to alter investigations, period.

And like I said if you follow Ape's logic it would mean that this will be the first time a result has been altered in any way during the entire game. There have only been FLIR's, Kills, Lynches and Possessions. It's simple as that.

The only thing that I don't understand is that with 3 Possesed alive almost everyone is following Ape.

I can only assume the reason none of the scum we have actually caught on FLIR has contested it earlier in the game, is because they didn't want to tip their hand that they had a way to alter results. If they had, it would have rendered the framing ability useless to them because town would have been tuned into the concept being part of the game.

Instead they let every FLIR turn into a speedlynch. Which would mean the framing would do the same, unless of course, logic prevails and you guys can see the blueprint for this setup.

Sounds like the scum team is full of herp a derps, safe to say Nolder and Darthe are the brain trust and Cloud is just their frustrated team mate. LOL

The last FLIR camera has been acting up - but it seems to be working now.

You've wondered for so long now... And there he is, talking to the others.

You casually bring the camera up and his image shows quite clearly.

Cloud; do you really not see that the scene indicates the camera is wonky? We've never seen anything like that before. We know DPR puts info in his scenes.

And thanks, I'll stop playing after this game if that's what you think about me.

If this is the case then it would mean he was vote controlled to vote Cloud. Using that logic would mean that Cloud is most likely innocent. If he is saying that why would he then say he was suspicious of Cloud before? That doesn't make sense.

Darthe: can you confirm this? Are you suspicious of Cloud?

I think Tress was killed because she was on to something. I'm going to go back and see what she was last looking at.

Not sure what he's doing, but he seems to think he's smarter than anyone and can make audacious moves as scum. So I'm chalking it up as his idea of a great play. LOL

I'm getting very concerned that we're being led around by the nose. Going with my gut feeling here.

She started out being suspicious of Ape.

@ Ape: You're being aggressive and vocal, yes, and pushing scumhunting in directions that haven't gotten us anywhere. The only possessed we have gotten so far have been from lucky viewings. We are getting very close to end game and haven't solved this thing, we've all been looking in the wrong direction as a group.

It's a gut feeling. My gut feelings are often enough right that I usually regret it when I don't follow up on them.

That said, if it's not you, Crusher is my next biggest concern. RTE I wouldn't be surprised if he's been converted. And there are some who have stopped saying much of anything who deserve a look.

I bolded the above to show why I chose to look in the direction she was going. She was suspicious of RTE who turned out possesed. (Later on there was a possessed viewing of Ape as well. But I'll get to that later).

Here's some info I couldn't gather by just by scouring the thread for posts by DPR, it could be useful to know who FLIR'd who.

For the record, since I never outright stated it, I FLIR'd myself and in hindsight I really regret that as I'd rather have used it on someone else and been lynched. I don't think it helped us much just clearing me for that hour.

Also vig kills. I think Mish and Peace both claimed a kill but there may have been others? If you've killed anyone with a vig kill or if there was someone else that claimed using a vig kill that I'm not recalling please post.

I was wondering if you were responsible for that, Nol. I just went back myself and found all the FLIR views, vig kills, and those who have claimed responsibility. I made note of the post where you claimed to have received a camera, and the only FLIR view that wasn't accounted for at that point was your own... heh.

The only other claim for a vig kill that I found - Basel claimed responsibility for BG here.

Here she starts putting together info with Nolder on who did what. (Vig kills claimed and FLIR used).

We've already seen that people that were FLIR viewed have been converted after, and the rest are dead apparently, except Nolder.

Actually, we have not seen that. Nolder, Rand and Darthe are still alive and were viewed as town. EP is the only one viewed as town who has died afterward and he was still town. The others were viewed as possessed and lynched forthwith.

Ape makes an observation and Tress corrects it. (It was a good theory, but hard to tell with 3 of them still alive.) Not sure if he missed it or did it on purpose to make Nolder look guilty.

Obviously with conversion in play those who have been viewed as town or have received a camera or vig kill previously are clearly not assumed to be safe - especially since RTE had a camera at 11:00 PM and was possessed by 3:00 AM.

The reason I culled out those who have not ever been viewed or received an item is that if there is one original recruiter who can be killed to stop the possessions, it's going to be one of these 4 people.

It's a distinct possibility that the recruit mechanic is different - the recruit might be done by any of the possessed who are still alive, in which case the only way we can win is to vig kill and lynch only possessed and try to beat the attrition of a daily mafia kill and recruit. Right now we have 13 players alive - 10 town/3 possessed. The mafia kill has already occurred, but they will recruit one of us when the phase changes. Best case scenario we lynch another possessed today, and at 4:00 AM we have 9 town/3 possessed. If we mislynch, at 4:00 AM it's 8 town to 4 possessed, and it'll be all too easy to lose at that point.

Tigraine and Berf certainly need a good hard look at this point, however the mechanics are set up.

The bold: We know that Tress is town. That leaves 3 on the list above. Also, she makes a good point about those having or using items could have been possessed since.

Italic/underlined: I agree as they haven't said much up to this point. I will be looking at them next.

Ape is scumhunting and Nolder and I have been actively trying to puzzle this out, but I don't assume that means all of us are town.

Still thinking on this. I'd like some more input today from the quiet ones.

Bold: Since the number of possesed hasn't increased since this I'm inclined to think they are still town. (Yes I realise my name is in there.) Ape is scumhunting, but I know he made a post about how he does that as scum as well. He said something about being active and making cases if I'm not mistaken.

Good grief. Crazy busy day at work. This is the first chance I've had to get on my phone long enough to post, and I still have 2 hours to go.

I am working on the assumption that Wes wouldn't give a vig shot to a possessed, and that means Kronos is almost certainly still town as of this phase since he claimed responsibility for Hally's kill and the flavor for that scene was definitely a vigilante.

No we haven't. As I said before, the reason the number remains stagnant when we kill a possessed is because we kill a possessed, and they recruit one, which evens out. This is the first time we have seen a decrease in the amount of possessed we have. So before you go all high and untouchable on me, go read the thread. One hundred and seventeen pages in and you can't read the thread correctly, count or do simple logic.

Rand has a point here. Either the scum failed to submit their recruit before the deadline, or some other mechanic is in play.

That gives us a bit more breathing room.

Assuming that the last FLIR camera is still in play, and hasn't gone poof because someone neglected to check their PMs in time to use it, who would be the most useful person to confirm of those left alive?

Nolder? Darthe? Or one of the 4 of us who have never either been checked or received an item?

This shows that we have a chance and should still be looking at the list of who hasn't been checked or cleared as stated previously.

We have a possessed viewing on Ape. Shortly after Tress is killed. Not sure if that means she was right about him or one of the others on the list. I have noticed nobody claimed to be the one that used the FLIR. Perhaps because the person that did is no longer living?
