Thanks for your input Peace. :)

I'm trying very hard to focus more on the positive things and less on the negative. I usually come off as overly critical. Part of that is jut how I am... I'm just as critical to myself too.

Sorry I was absent for the lastfew days all. Work has been busy, the week end was a crap shoot. Lots of family drama. Not like I offered much anyway but it really sucks to have inactive players and I know that. Any pointers on how I can NOT make myself sound like scum? lol

Say what you mean and stick to it. A lot of your posts were disjointed and had the original reasoning twisted.

I'm very distracted with scrolls since it just came out and some other stuff so I probably wont get around to detailed thoughts about the setup. Here's a basic rundown.

I thought it was a GREAT setup, very simple and tight in the mechanics. I wish I hadn't lost my steam for it and again apologize for that.

That said I do not think it was a good setup for people to learn basic mafia. Things like a 3 shot cop are just not the norm. This is why I still believe there should be a third category of mafia games on DM called "Standard". Games which aren't overly complicated or experimental but aren't your run of the mill learning game either. This is the perfect example of what I think a Standard game looks like. Again I'm not putting down Tglems setup I just think this isn't a "basic" game. It's not his fault he's constrained by a system which doesn't recognize there is a middle ground between Basic and Advanced.

Actually, I think that it is a great setup to learn basic maffia.

Not taking infinite shots for granted and healer with no self-protect is things that you need to learn fast. They don't change game mechanics or the corresponding roles considerably.

Thanks for the comments Nolder. I like your idea regarding the middle ground and it might be something to consider. When I have a moment I'll start a thread on it and see what everyone's thoughts are.

I think a reasonable workaround might be to continue having two game queues, Advanced and Standard/Basic. Then, the Standard/Basic games could be labeled accordingly.

Been there, done that. Long story short Verbal said no. You can look the thread up yourself or ask him about it I guess but I wouldn't go in with expectations of changing anything.
