As far as I know, as a vanilla town player the biggest crime you can commit is claiming vanilla.

Stupid as hell.

You give information to the scum for free and your info is useless to townies.

Yes, the "only backside" of it is helping maffia select their target.

ONLY BACKSIDE ...

What more do you want?

Of course there is the Wine aspect of the claim. About the "only thing" that should make lynching Darthe not an automatically good decision.

Lol chill for what>  Telling someone who calls me stupid to gfy?

What happened to the old mafia tough skin?

Agreed, I can't see anything Darthe should chill down for.

Remember when the rules (more or less) read "Mafia wins when they have a majority"?

Oh wait... That applies here too!

That you'd rather scum hunt than settle on lynching someone claiming vanilla.

Well, claiming vanilla is the most scummy thing I've seen so far.

I do believe that people who go ahead and claim for vanilla should be lynched... but its not as if my mind is closed. So tell me, do you have a better lead?

Posted

Nope. But I'm starting with you. Page 5 and most people are quiet. But we have time. 23 people to poke at. You're just lucky number 1.

Posted

Don't care.  I consider it preemptive.

Do you have a reason for me to not claim?  I can only think of one that could hold up here.

Yeah..claiming vanilla early narrows the pool of targets for scum trying to knock off power roles.  It's bad play.

I agree that it was some bad play from Darthe, but I guess he thinks differently about it. However, lynching him for it is crazy.

Policy lynching Vanilla claims is healthy.

It is if you are mafia.

Posted

So let me get this straight.

Someone makes a claim that only makes sense if he is scum. Lynching him for it is crazy how?

Posted

You want to lynch Darthe because he claimed Vanilla, and you don't have any other reasons for it (kinda hard to get those with only 5 pages in the game). In a certain way Vanilla's are there to protect the PR's, and like I said policy lynching them for it is crazy.

Why does claiming Vanilla so early in the game only make sense if you are scum?

Posted

Add him to the end of it then

The fact is you jumpd at an easy target

No I'm not supportive that. I believe I called him insane for it actually

Voting somebody for doing something anti-town?  So, let's say Darthe claimed mafia and RTE voted Darthe, would you still jump on RTE for going after the "easy target?"  No.  Dap, I don't like your reasoning here.  There is a difference between someone doing something scummy and getting heat for it versus mafia jumping on an easy lynch, and at the first vote you can't tell the difference.

That is all, continue firing up the brush.

I don't think claiming vanilla right off is the best move. Like Peace said, it means scum have knowledge of how to narrow down their targets. But I don't think it means he is scum. I think there's also the possibility that Darthe really does have a power for town, and he is trying to divert NKs away from him.

WIFOM for mafia to consider.  I like this post a lot. +1 Basel.

Why would you raise that possibly?

See above

Claim: Town Vanilla.

Why?  Because I am sick of stupid intros to mafia game and having to use a claim as a crux later.  Now you know so don't ask.  Lynch me for something or don't vote me.

Moving on.

Nothing interesting has happened yet.  I'll be back when we hit 8-10 pages unless something strikes my fancy.

Hey Darthe, let's all claim then right off the bat!  Oh wait, no, that would violate rule 6.

Seriously though, (assuming you are town) I like this play as it is going to give scum more to second guess at night.

CS dude let me ask you this, why would scum bring attention to themselves this early in the game?

Because somehow it has recently become a trend here to not lynch people who act "too scummy."    For instance, Peace in JohnSnows aborted game asked for all town power roles to claim, asked the cop repeatedly for all investigative info the cop had gotten, asked who was protecting the cop after a failed NK of the cop, etc etc.  And yet nobody wanted to lynch peace because "oh, scum wouldn't act so incredibly scummy!"  Bah.

Since I'll be gone this weekend I don't want to accidentally leave my vote on cindy so unvote, vote Dap

My early read on Dap was scumhunting, but after he didn't seem to understand why Basel would point out Darthe WIFOMing mafia I don't think he is thinking with a town oriented mind.

Posted

dude, i get darthe wants to do, he wants the skip the usual day 1 crap and go directly to the interesting part,

(he could have done it in a more tactful way but his principal isnt wrong)

That's a valid question. I don't know. Why not?

Darthe can be:

- vanilla townie, in which case bringing attention to himself is very good, cause he might draw an NK. Except that his claim (which scum will likely believe) defeats that purpose.

- power role townie: in which case he's playing a Wine game (but why bring attention?)

- scum: but again, why bring attention?

"Good afternoon, boys and girls, ladies and gents. The game is starting up for real now... For the first few hours the tributes were all hiding, but not seems like the temperatures rising... The hunt has begun! And already we can see a few alliances forming.

Now remember, even though this is about the tributes, there are other factors to take into consideration too. The gamemakers have their suprises, Each day, they will reward or punish a tribute. How they choose... Well I guess they have their criterias. Maybe certain actions a tribute does? But these rewards or punishment might be the thing who turns the table for the tribute who gets it...! Exciting, exciting indeed. Now, back to the show! It seems like a couple of the tributes have found Darthe's tracks. Will he be able to escape them, or will he be our first death? Stay tuned! Caesar and Claudius here, always keeping you updated on The Hunger Games!"

@blue: hint at third party or similar

@green: im assuming its something like the ark in ithi's game but definitely some kind of game mechanic

Mod note: Your blue sentences ties into the next sentence about the gamemakers. That's all.

Edit: What I mean is I will neither confirm nor deny possible third party existance. But that particular sentence only refers to the next one.
