@JCM - DM got hit hard with a major DDOS attack a while back and every since there have been issues, some experiencing it more than others.  Tina saying she can't post or get on is a RL thing and IMO above suspicion.  Case her play or Ishy buddying up or trying to call her out as a PR, but not that.

 

@Kat - Okay, so who are your top three scum reads?  Also, JiF is booboo apparently.  I'm learning all the nicknames also.

 

@Ishy - Are you trying to imitate Booboo to avoid being lynched by raging?  Lobbing personal insults is not helpful.  At least JCM is scum hunting and trying to prod people.

 

My grilling her about the truthfulness of the cloudfire whatever, was to see if anyone would come in and put some juice behind it, nothing more. I don't need something like that to actually case someone. ;)

Holy crap its hard to catch up on this game.  First thing I want to point out.  Everyone went of JiF/Boo when he claimed town reporter but not a single one of you mentioned that he might in fact be a mafia reporter.  We thought of this scenario before, but now it doesn't get a single mention.  I thought JiF was town before Ape started casing him on pretty much meta alone (which is really weak, especially when playing on another site), but none of you looked at anything else other than what Ape was saying.  This game it seems like most people are playing get behind the Ape, notice how where he votes, others do as well.  Two things here, either we can find scum their trying to hide between everyone else, or Ape himself is scum, and he's just capitalizing on how much scum hunting he can do, instead of how well.  I know I said before that he caught a town threat, but to him if he was mafia, that would have seemed like town before a reveal, and after he had gotten that far, he couldn't have backed off anyways.  Second of all, Ishy has been very scummy, first of all in his initial reaction to anyone who questioned him.  Usually I would think that this would be too clear for anyone to do and would be a town tell, but I think Ishy was trying to overplay his town meta of being too nonchalant and kind of free with what he says.  Not only that, but once Tina said that she was fine with him revealing what he thought, not only did he insult Tina as well, he didn't give the reason he had.  So now that there is nothing to lose, please go ahead and tell us Ishy, what you thought.

Also, @Kat - Pretty much everyone has posted tons of spam.  They get away with it because they are also posting content in between all the garbage.  If there are basically only fluff posts that is when you get called out.  So, yeah, who are your top three scum reads and why, who are your top three town reads and why?

Honestly with Booboo I'm not sure if he's mafia or not... which was the reason i was slow to vote him. He's a bit... well.. as i said before, abrasive.. which isn't a great tactic for a mafia. Which is why i wanted him to give SOME kind of explanation for his votes. Right now i just feel like getting rid of him because he was such a butt yesterday and detracted from the game by lobbing insults and goin crazy on people. 

 

Ishy is still very suspicious to me. 

 

AVM hasn't posted hardly anything... which i really just don't know what to think about. This is a sucky time to be playing because for one I know that Tina is on our list of people who are having exceptionally bad problems with cloudflare. But anyone else on here could be part of that as well, which COULD account for SOME of the people's low activity but... I don't know.

Everybody is backing off Booboo because he claimed Bob, who is a main character in the series and would (assuming a reasonable mod) be in the game and given a PR.  There has been no CC, but you can bet that if there is suspicion will be back.  With no CC I'm going to conclude Booboo is who he claims.

Not a setup for getting in trouble, but we need to hear peoples thoughts and figure out who they might be linked to.  If we leave people alone and don't draw connections then at end game we might end up losing. Posting your scum and town reads can help vet you as town or find you as scum, it can go either way.

 

You didn't mention Nolder or Ed in your reads, but you did mention AVM.  Why is AVM not on your scum list but Nolder and Ed are? 

 

As for Booboo, until he is CC'd I say he is confirmed.  I'm sure other people here have read the source material and can second that.

Not as Bob he couldn't.  In the books book doesn't have a whole look of conscience as a spirit, but he is Harry's tome of knowledge and is constantly being used/providing info to help fight crime.  It'd be (IMO) against canon to have Bob as scum. 

 

Looking at people who unvoted before I mentioned canon does make sense.  However, continuing to look at Booboo doesn't.  It would be like continuing to be suspicious of someone who character claimed Harry Dresden without a CC.

You build a case where I could likely be scum, talk about how everyone is following me, and then vote Ishy. LMFAO This stinks like you are pushing the Ishy train, and trying to set up a lynch on me for if/when Ishy flips town. Universal scum tell: I call it "getting greedy" when scum is trying to set up the next lynch before today's even finishes.

 

For the record on Booboo... My case on Booboo was sincere and NOT just based on meta, he piggy-backed my csarmi case on D1 (game play related), he had a town result on AVM but chose to vote him anyway?

 

The meta part of my case doesn't really take playing at JN to understand. He said I lied about how he hates when I play "connect the dots", which when you decouple the statement I actually made is an easy thing for him to sell. I never lied about that, I freely admit he HATES when I do it. That said, that wasn't the focus... the focus was that he KNOWS it is a big-time town tell of mine, and he ignored that it's a town tell and sold that town tell to you all as a scum tell. That IS something he often does as scum, selling my town tells as my scum tells. So, if you are in my shoes it becomes quite easy to convince yourself he's dirty.

 

Also, him selling you all my town tell as a scum tell, is also meta-casing, why aren't you scolding him over that?

 

Anyway, it's a moot point, unless he gets counter-claimed he is Bob.

I'm not sure what to make of Ishy's behavior right now, but I don't the nature of the votes coming on him right now. Leelou's vote pinged, so did Rand's, I'm a little suspicious when I see people putting effort into establishing an undertone that I might be scum, but then they vote who I'm voting. It feels like they are pushing a town lynch, and trying to indict other townies leading the train.

AVM isn't in there cause i just can't get enough info on him.. I only mentioned him because he's in with Ishy in the two that are possibly "Chicago Citizens". I meant only that there is more evidence that Ishy is bad than AVM. I swear i thought i put that in there... but i didn't.

Ok.. after a quick re-read (after a cup of coffee and having been up long enough for my brain to start at least SEMI working) It appears that Ishy is trying to imply that Tina has viewed me or some such something and that i'm bad. I find this highly unusual, seeing as how it seems at least 2 other people were viewed last night and neither of them were me and both of them were posted in the "paper" and there is no mention of me whatsoever. at least that's what i'm getting from Ishy's implications. Though, they are so vague, it is possible that I'm wrong. The possibility that IF tina CAN view someone and if she did, that it doesn't show up in the paper like the other 2 doesn't particularly look good on her... I mean with the two that show up in the paper, if they both show up you would think that at least POSSIBLY the two that viewed and show publicly could be town, one that doesn't when two others do... More likely mafia. 

 

Not saying that Tina can, because she has said nothing that even remotely says that, that's just what Ishy is implying. At least that's how I see it, and he can correct me if i'm wrong.

While I agree Ishys play sticks the most out, keeping him around for at least another game day could allow us to start vetting people.  If scum ignore the situation (including JiF -- booboo), I'd assume we get more information and start having a big pool of players in that semi-confirmed pool.  If scum kill, then they're going to have a tough time not essentially confirming someone at town (too many people involved).  I'd assume that's the route they'll take as they won't want that group to get too big, but then at least we're forcing their hands in the direction of us.  If we get to deadline without a clear option, he or I are obviously there as fallback plans.

 

Got a good chuckle out of Tina.  I guess you don't read along much at JN, as people explain their votes all the time through case building...but it's a regular occurrence.  D1 joke votes are one thing, D2 coming out is usually down to business.  JiF(booboo) claims to have been playing possum, so as I said...something was off about the post (though I was completely wrong on what exactly, lol)

 

Now for Vam -- I concur he tried to reignite the JiF (booboo) train, sort of...but the bigger deal, to me, is that he seemingly copied my case against JiF (booboo) with the "he's just voting without explaining."  Which, by how Tina is acting, shouldn't be all that odd around here I guess?

If there is a traditional cop/finder, then I highly doubt the results would be in the paper's rumors. I also thing that if Tina can view someone, it doesn't make her look bad. Finder roles aren't typically mafia roles, lol.

 

I think the issue I'm seeing is that Tina plucked you out of thin air. Tina was leaning Verbal and Leelou, then suddenly spun around and voted you. Ishy saw that, and reacted as though Tina's vote was informed by more than a guess. Almost felt choreographed. Like maybe Ishy was testing to see if Tina was the Cop, or like Ishy was trying to imply Tina was the Cop, to maybe out the real cop. When it faltered, and I challenged it, that is when Ishy went into contradiction mode.

 

So if Ishy and Tina are both scum, and he was helping facilitate a false claim by her, that they then chickened-out on, it would probably make you (Kat) scum, because a play like that can't be made without bussing a teammmate. 

 

Anything that requires this much if/then, isn't something I want to over-invest in just now though. It's just a theory.
