RJ Forgot?

Does anyone else think that RJ forgot that Thom was with Mat and Rand with Bayle Domon on the boat in teotw? Two things:

 

He doesn't remember seeing the Tower of Ghenjei

He doesn't seem to recognise Domon when he runs into him in Tarabon

 

I'm sure there are perfectly reasonable explanations for these...

Either that, or Thom died in Whitebridge, and Demandred/Bel'al is masquerading as him =p

Thom wasn't there with them when Bayle pointed out the Tower, and he does recognize him in Tarabon, which is why they run off and have drinks.
