Welcome Roland

I'm Ithi, and a Shadowy Type. It's lovely to see you here in the BT. Once you get access head on over to the Farmhouse and join in the Saidin Class - it's the first step to getting promoted. And don't forget to sign into Roll Call at the top of this Board.

What drew you to our happy madhouse? Do you think that it is just co-incidence that Black Tower and Bermuda Triangle both begin with the letters BT?

When will it be not too early for me to put my Christmas Siggy on?

Welcome to the Taint and the Spam, Roland. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. Everyone who's insane does (and if you're not insane, there's something wrong with you).

 Well have fun  Return to the taintyness soon. Your thread will most likely be filled with spam upon your return  And yes, dark chocolate is always better :nods:

White chocolate is the best, and has always been the best.

Welcome Roland! this is where the taint be delicious and your brownies drive you insane.... Or is that the other way around....

Yes, it's the other way around.

Welcome Roland

The 25th of December.

If you eat the chocolate owls do you get wiser?

Depends... Once, Owls stood for stupidity, nowadays, the stand for wisdom. So, when do you live? Do you live now, or in that past where Owls stood for stupidity?

Also, becoming clever/stupid because you're eating something clever/stupid, reminds me of cannibals. They ate people because they though they'd gain things (intellect, for example) that person had if they ate them.

How far back in the past do you have to go to get the Symbolism of Owls meaning something stupid? In Greek mythology, the owl, and specifically the Little Owl, was often associated with the Greek goddess Athena, a bird goddess who often assumed the form of an owl. Athena was also the goddess of wisdom, the Arts, and skills, and as a result, owls also became symbols of teaching and of institutions of learning, being included in the crest of arms of many universities. In the Western world, owls continue to be traditionally associated with wisdom. They are the unofficial mascot of the high-IQ society Mensa.

Greek Mythology is quite a long time ago, so was it before then?

I'm pretty sure it was early Middle Ages.

Actually, are there more animals that stand for wisdom? Because I mostly remember that an animal that now stands for wisdom once stood for stupidity. I'm not 100% sure it was an Owl, but I AM 100% sure that something like this was the case.
