My vote still stands, and I won't be here at the DL. So, Darthe, Kaylee, please make the right choice here and vote with me. Don't let a scummy Despo win, that would really ruin my night

Also, @ Kae. I'm not scummy whatsoever. And quit acting all butthurt about me always suspecting you. I've also caught you as scum plenty of times, so it's not like I tunnel on you without results all the time. In fact I don't really think I have ever tunneled you that bad

Another long day of walking made longer by your early start. You just can't seem to shake the images of a beaten bloody Ishy out of your head. Not one person spoke during this days walk except when you halted the party for short breaks.

With the sun setting on the horizon you call for the final stop of the day with a muted "let's camp here everyone." No one disagreed. They all just dropped where there were. Exhausted beyond measure.

10 days ago the co-pilot said it would take a week to find help. 10 days ago. You scratch your rough beard while you take a sip of water from your last water bottle. If no help is found tomorrow, no help will be found. Or....it won't matter, you'll be too far gone. You and the rest of this beaten down group.

As you put your water bottle down you look at your dry cracked hands. Seeing them, you lick your dry cracked lips.....dry cracked lips......dry cracked lips. THAT'S IT! Quickly you jerk your head up to scan the faces of your companions.

Darthe, looking miserable, staring at his last water bottle. Licking his own dry cracked lips.

Kaylee, once so beautiful now a shadow of herself, going through her pack as though hoping to find one more bottle of water. She sees you looking at her and gives you a half smile then quickly reaches up to touch her mouth. A small trickle of blood forming on the corner. Dry cracked lips.

Sakaea. Already settled down for the night. She's staring off into the distance. She doesn't notice your increasing stare. Slowly you get up. Slowly you walk towards her. Darthe and Kaylee stop what they are doing and watch you. Ignoring them you creep closer to Sakaea. She doesn't notice til you are almost face to face.

"What are you doing?! Sakaea exclaims.

You just stare at her lips.

"What is wrong with you!?" She starts to move away.

You grab her by the shoulders and hold her there. Staring at her lips as she continues to berate you. "Your lips," you mumble.

"My what?" She screams back at you.

"Your lips...they're not....dry....cracked."

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!"

The others gather in closer. Realization shows on their faces.

"HE'S RIGHT!" Kaylee blurts out. "Look at her! She's not dehydrated like us."

Your grip tightens on her arms. Knuckles white. Hands shaking. "You miserable BITCH!" Thoughts race through your head. KILL HER, KILL HER. Quickly you let go and turn away from her before your desire overcomes you. Darthe rushes in to grab her.

"What do we do?" Darthe asks. Sakaea squirming in his arms.

"I.....don't.....know." You say as you drop your head into your hands.

Just then, the sounds of a helicopters blades are heard in the distance. Kaylee quickly grabs the one flash light your group has and starts shining it in the direction the sounds are coming from.

A short time later, your group is in a rescue helicopter heading to safety. Sakaea's hands are bound behind her back. You stare out into the darkness wondering how you'll ever be normal again.

Sakaea - Water thief, has been lynched.

Town has won.

Thank you everyone who played. I really enjoyed modding this game. I'd love feed back on rule 15 and the no roles setup.

Holy smokes! Wasn't expecting that! Sweet, record is still intact!

Gj town, and nice one Kaylee putting in that last vote. Nice to know my read on you was correct

Peace, I think I liked your scenes perhaps better than anyother iI have ever read in a mafia game. You did a spectacular job of setting the mood for the game.

As for your setup, the no roles thing was challenging honestly. I'm glad you only had the mafia them start out with 2, with 3 they prob would have won this. Without at least SOME confirmed townies my indecisiveness plagued me much more than usual.

As for the inactive kill mechanic, I think its a nice mechanic, but would prob be much more effective in a larger game. Perhaps you can run this same setup some time in the future, but make it larger.

Side note: I kinda like how this setup pretty much proves that Dart he's balancing idea is prob a little rough still (I don't like concrete numbers for roles when they can swing more powerfully depending on the setup

I think 3 scum would have been better and it was only this close cause I had to use rule 15 once. So, in looking back with 13 players 3 would have been a fair number.

I'm gonna run another basic game like this with a couple of tweaks. I'm thinking that 1 post a day isn't enough. I contemplating requiring everyone to have at least 1/3 the number of posts that I do in the game. It shouldn't be to difficult to keep up with that considering I don't spam much.

One thing I found interesting and didn't realize til I finished the last scene is there was no setup talk. So, even though this game was only 34 pages long, the game discussion was pretty solid and focused. Set up talk wasn't much of a distraction.

And, I'm glad you liked my scenes. You never know if people are actually reading them. BTW...they were all off the cuff.

Posted

I really liked the method of delivering the scenes as well. Change of perspective, streamlined progression of events, very well written.

As for setup talk, well of course there wasn't any! We knew there were no roles lol

I think the basic setup reduced setup talk, and the new ip for the theme reduced spam talk, so with more players and slightly more activity it would be a pretty nice setup imo

Posted

Well, my point about the setup talk was that it is a good result of the lack of roles. Meant a more focused scum hunting. Just my opinion. Others may like set up talk.

I learned the main bass line at one point, but never the whole song Tbh even tho Megadeth has had some great bassists, most notably Ellefson of course, I've mostly listened to them for the guitar work, which is pretty much usually the best you can find in any band resembling thrash

The problem with posting more is my schedule only allows me to post at night. If I get a chance to post in the morning or during lunch its rare...I do try though.

I can sympathize with you somewhat on that Kaylee, since I mainly only post at night. There are a lot of games where my post count may not be all that high, but where I still regularly participated.

My only thing with you Kaylee, is that it seems early in the game you rarely give your thoughts on other players or weigh in solidly on one side of an issue. You seem a little too fine with playing it low key for a while, and that makes it harder to get a read on you.

It was your wot cases, and your general cautious behavior when it was near endgame told me you were prob town. Glad you trusted me sorta there at the end too

This game was fun...until I replaced back in. 2 mafia was totally unfair; I almost pulled it off tho. To lose to a random really bites, however.

Good game peace.

You did well through it Kae but since yesterday I was almost determined to vote you anyhow. Just had a psych final coming up and thought deadline was today :( sorry all. Still, glad we won this. Despo, you are such a wildcard.

I'm working on it Despo. Ad of this today, I'll be working two jobs until the 16th. When I do post in other games, I'll do my best to give some sort of opinion. It's just hard with only being on my phone.
