Answering Ryrin, this also gives further answer to Lor's question. I think the Red Ajah will definitely get back on good terms. Egwene is super gung-ho about the Tower healing, and she has made a point of maintaining the red stripe on the Amyrlin's stole. Restoring the Red is a big priority for her.

I think Egwene's purpose for the Red will either a) be to serve as ambassadors to the Black Tower, or b) to help integrate the Asha'man into the White Tower. This is supported by the movement from within the Red Ajah to bond Asha'man instead of to Gentle them. I think the integration would be possible if the Black Tower's internal war is ended with Logain victorious, but the Tower itself in shambles, with Logain realizing that it would be best to move on rather than try to rebuild what Taim ruined.

19 - Cadsuane... love her or loath her, and why?

I love Cadsuane! I love that she's reached the point in her life that she doesn't owe anyone an apology and she's strong enough not to be afraid of anything she can control. I was grinning like an idiot at her treatment of Semi!

20- Since this was an ongoing theme at D*Con a few weeks ago, I'll ask... who makes trolloc pants?

Both. I don't enjoy the way she treats Rand. I can see both sides.... Cadsuane takes him down a peg or two when he is full of himself but I really enjoyed when Rand responded to her calling him "boy" in ToM and advising her that he is her elder (in lives lived....which he remembers) and that he is the first male Aes Sedai, properly raised, since the breaking and perhaps she should call him "Rand Sedai. I think Cadsuane was left speechless, which doesn't happen often. Like Lor, I enjoy her courage, her determination to do what's right and her ability to find people's weaknesses. It will be a valuable skill in the Last Battle.

Shaidar makes the Trolloc pants.

My question: Are there female trollocs and can they get pregnant?

My Egwene after the executions of the black sisters. It is said she wore red to symbolize the bloodletting.

I always got the impression that Trollocs are created rather than born, not unlike Tolkien's Uruk-hai. We know that Myrdrael are created, though due to their sheer numbers, I'm guessing the recipe for Trolloc is less complicated and doesn't have a 1:1 ratio of victim:creature.

22 - Who would win-- Seanchan or Shara? (Either meeting halfway in the Waste, or if either invaded the other)

He will be thrilled to see her, she will scold him, and they will leave the meeting with a mutual respect, with her reprising her earlier advisory role. One of the only people he trusts will be able to help him again. I think she also will validate his theory that he must break the seals, possibly from one of her own questions, or just because she has a solid head on her shoulders.

24 - How will Moiraine be welcomed by the Tower?

With shocked awe if they know what's good for them.

Actually it was confirmed by Team Jordan that trollocs breed and that there are females in SG.

25- Will Perrin ever take up the reigns and be a Lord of the Two Rivers?

I think he and Faile are good candidates for a romantic death in the Last Battle, but if they survive, he will finally be Lord of Two Rivers, provided the Seanchan don't mess up those plans.

26 - With Mat and Tuon headed back to Seandar to patch things up back home after Tarmon Gaidon, will the Seanchan have enough of a presence left in Randland to be much of a threat?

Interesting theories!! I like them. Why will Moiraine scold Rand? I think the Tower will realize the power that Moiraine has as being a trusted advisor to Rand. She will have both his and the Last Battle's concerns in the forefront and not on the squabbling of the Tower.

I can see Perrin and Faile dying in the last battle. I have a harder time seeing her as Lady of The Two Rivers.

Matt will prevent the Seanchan from being a threat as the Prince of Ravens.

How will Elayne fit into the Last Battle with her pregnancy and all?

Wishful thinking says she will die in childbirth, though I don't think that will happen. It would make succession really ugly, unless Dylin sat as regent for Elayne's daughter. I am fairly skeptical though of her involvement in the last battle. She has her hands full with Caemlyn, so unless it is in the city, I don't think she will be a factor.

28 - Will Rand ever be fully healed? Both his conflicting wounds in his side, and his madness (it drives me nuts that Nynaeve didn't travel to go heal him when she discovered how to heal the madness). Forgive me if she healed him in tGS or ToM... still in KoD in my reread.

Nynaeve didn't need to heal Rand's madness. She delved him and found all of the black thorns held back by light.

The physical wounds, I think, will be healed if he lives through the LB.

I read this: "Jordan has confirmed that severing (stilling) can be healed fully only by a healer of opposite gender to the patient." Will this knowledge be discovered and Siuan and Leane returned to their full strength?

I like to think they'll realize that Nyn healing Logain worked better than Nyn healing Siuan and start putting two and two together. I'd like to see them returned to their full strength, but I doubt it's going to happen because they've already been "cured."

And to say what I think will happen to Elayne will be a spoiler for anyone who hasn't read the prologue. So I'll avoid the answer to that question until March or so. LOL The point will be moot by then, but, hey, we can chat more then! :)

30- How will the realization about the suldam being able to channel change the Seanchan?

Assuming the last battle does not change usage of the OP, I think this will be dependent on two things: how far public this goes, and how far public it goes that the new Empress can channel. If this goes 100% public, I think the empire will fall apart, turning the hypothetical outrigger Mat and Tuon novel into a trilogy. Unless it is expanded to 5 books, or 7, or 9... sigh. If it is kept hush-hush, business will go on as normal, but it will be a dirty little secret that makes the nobles a bit nervous. Regarding Tuon, if things go on as normal, she will be fine. Otherwise, either she will be secretly collared (much like Moghedian was), or the culture will have to change.

31 - So maybe a bit OT as it's not a question from the books themselves, but what do you think of Brandon Sanderson? I know a lot of fans are hypo-critical of his work with the Wheel of Time, but I'm interested in the opinion of this group of people, since you seem a bit less troll-ish, and with more respectable opinions than some of the trash threads I've read!

Look, the fact that this thread is on page three and I'm still OT is frankly SHOCKING! ;)

I love Brandon. While I can tell he's not RJ, he's still a damned good author in his own right. I think his love of this series has lent itself to making sure the characters stayed true to themselves and he is doing a fabulous job telling the story. The path may be a bit different than Jim would've taken, but we know the ending will be the one he chose. I find that reassuring.

32- What will Aludra do after the Last Battle, provided she survives it?

Recant? You mean if they survive? I like to think Ishy will walk in the Light. Wouldn't that make for great reading? ;)

34- How many Arthurian characters can you spot in the Wheel of Time?

I'm not a big buff on Arthurian legend, so hard for me to tell, but I know for sure that Gawyn comes out of Gawain or Gwyn (or both). Moiraine just looks like an Arthurian name as well. And Arter Hawkwing is a lot like Arthur. Calendor is probably the Sword in the Stone, whatever it is actually called.

After browsing a wiki list of Arthurian characters:

(name similarity only... looks like details of the characters have very little relation)

Bors = Bors, Elaine = one of the many Elaines, The Fisher King piece in Stones is obviously a reference to The Fisher King, probably a remnant of our age like Mosk and Merk, Galad = Galahad, Gareth Bryne = Gareth, Morgase = Morguase

35 - What video format would give WoT justice? Movie, TV, miniseries, animation, etc?

It'll probably be a while and I'm not sure there will be more products until someone who is serious about it buys the rights to make it a movie/TV series. That'll be a while, I'm sure. :(

37- How many trollocs does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Link to comment

I can't come up with a good punchline, so I'll say 13 because it is a magical number in Randland. Though I am skeptical that a Trolloc could even screw it in without shattering the glass.

38 - What is your favorite book cover for WoT? (standard ones only... no foreign, odd paperback, or e-book covers!)
