You should you the dark tower series buy Steven king, and naturally George R R Martins series. And you can't forget R.A. Salvatore's epic series. And the Shannara books by Terry Brooks

Every book has the potential to be a special friend.

This.

That sums up pretty accurately how I feel about books! Yay!

I don't know what an ebook is. I prefer the hands on style.

And the movie kick ass, well, it's an ass kicking good time!

I have paper books too, but I hade many many more once upon a time ago. Then, two small people moved into ouir house and suddenly there was not enough room for vast swathes of bookshelves.

I sold them off for the local charity and replaced via ebook. I read like a movie in my head anyways, so the medium that creates the image is not as important as the words themself

It's ok.I once had a firm idea of life's foundations but that disintegrated when I learned NPH was not in fact a horn dog, or a doctor.

No words, just pictures and dialogue.

I always feel so English on here. NPH is not a familiar term. As is, I have yet to get out of bed and feel slumber drifting across me once more.

My only choices are to be a complete lazybones and sleep some more, or go get snacks - eat and then sleep some more.

Sounds pretty American to me... if you add some fries and a burger somewhere in there.

OH BOY! I'm a great fan of Steven King, and I've read many of his books. I should give the Dark Tower a go... I enjoyed the Game of Thrones Season One on DVD, but haven't seen Season Two yet. I'm guessing the books are better than the adaptation (this is usually the case) but haven't cracked one...yet.

The only Brooks I know is Mel.

I loved the Dune series, but haven't read the others. Thanks for the suggestions!

And by NPH you mean...Neal Patrick Harris?

I am also having a lazy Saturday!

I WAS UP TILL SIX IN THE MORNING LAST NIGHT AND I DON'T KNOW WHY

Four to six AM is the best time to take a walk... the drunks are all incapacitated, the sober are mostly asleep, and the streets are mostly deserted. Anyone you see will probably think you have mad ninja skills to risk walking alone at that hour, and leave you alone. Ah, the wondrous peace and quiet!

taciturn dwarf. taciturn dwarf. taciturn dwarf.

only book i ever threw across the room.

i had to. i told myself if he used the phrase taciturn dwarf one more time... this was going on 100 midway through one book.... i would thrown the book across the room.

and there is was, next sentence. taciturn dwarf.

if the wood stove had been open it would have gone right in, but i gave it to the library instead, cause burning even bad books is wrong.
