re-Rick. see, i think seeing him go through this nervous breakdown is very interesting. its adds a new dynamic and very real stress to the group. i mean, he killed his best friend, who slept with his wife. his wife died in child birth, and their relationship wasn't exactly that great at that point; his kid was the one who had to kill lori and he's not even sure "little ass kicker" is his.

this is after the building stress from leading the group and the differnet things they've had to do and dealt with. what will be intersting is to see if he's strong enough to overcome it, or if he subcombs to his nervous breakdown and has to be killed.

i think right now, with the threat from the governor, and Myrel back in the group, he'll snap out of it. the break down happened when no one was there to challenge his authority or threaten the groups safety. so long as Myrel is in the group, Rick will still be lucid. after that though and he starts to process everything .. that another sotry imo

edit - also, seriously Andrea. i had hope for you, that you would do what needed ot be done. now, i hope a walker rips your throat out. thank you for making the entire female race in this show look like they're ruled by their hearts rather than logic and common sense. you're about as good as a female role model as Bella Swan.

The trauma from rape doesn't come from the physical act of intercourse. Sex is sex the body can handle sex. The trouble comes from the mental and psychological aftermath. The complete and utter loss of control, the knowledge that in that moment there was nothing you could do to stop the other person from doing whatever they wanted to you. So in every respect, except physically, she was raped. Let's not forget that just after that she had a gun pointed to her head. And yes she lives in a world where she faces death every day, but that's from walkers which are essentially animals. There's a big difference between fighting walkers and facing death then having a gun to your head with no way to stop it.

If anything she proved incredible strength by not shutting down completely. Let's not forget she was out there in the fire fight at the end of the episode.

^ this, Rape is not a sexual crime, its about power and control.

not to mention the guilt shes feeling as she was the one that told the gov where the prison was located and gave away her groups location. yeah, she was fine to begin with, because she was on survival mode adn they weren't back with their firends in a "safe" enviroment. she wasn't processing what happeend, just trying to survive the situation. now, its different. she's suffering from PTSD.

seeing how she interacted with Glenn last, she also seems somewhat bitter against him, because to her he seems to only care abotu if the Govenor actually raped (forced intercourse) her. we know that Glenn doesn't, but Maggie doesn't know that and as such she's trying to shut him out.

Nol - i'm going to pointedly ignore your comments concerning Maggie and that situation, least i let my anger and disgust from your comments derail this thread.

I think you're missing my point which is that previously she'd been shown to be a strong character. She was weak in season 2 and ruled by emotion. In the beginning of season 3 she changed into someone who was able to handle an incredibly stressful situation, a life or death situation. Now she's been crumbled back to where she was before or worse. In a show with so little character development to take even a little bit back is a crime. The fact that Maggie will perhaps turn into an annoying whiney/rageaholic for who knows how long is just an unhappy side effect.

Do whatever you gotta do.

Holy crap!!

Morgan's back!! And he's batcrap crazy.

Lenny James...really like his acting.  Has had several good parts in things I've seen lately.  Was hoping he'd go back with them.

Was a really good episode too.

I thought so too. I think this episode had some of the best dialogue of any so far. Really excellent writing.

And I think that is where Rick begins to get better. His talk with Morgan and also with Michonn at the end are going to get him back in the right direction.

The hitchhiker thing made me laugh in a twisted kind of way.

Was extremely impressed with his performance. He put the main cast to shame.

Carl is really quite the cold blooded badass now too.

Only thing that confused me was how did Michonn get back into the cafe and get the picture that fast when it was laying by the front door surrounded by walkers? Cloak of Invisibility?

The creator of the comics (IIRC) commented on that exact question. His response was "Michonne is awesome".

I figured that she was Nightcrawlers younger sister and just teleported in there.

BAMF!!

Uggh.

Them not helping the hitch-hiker, was by all reason.. Retarded.

Sure, they don't know anything about him, or if he's dangerous. But they also don't know if he was any kind of asset they could have used for their upcoming war. They could have stopped, talked, and left him behind, or brought him with them instead of just abandonning him.. quite litterally to that fate.

I can understand the reasoning but it's hard for me to believe that RICK has become that cold. At every turn someone has been willing to take him and his in when they didn't have to and probably shouldn't have anyway. You'd think that would make an impression on him. You'd think CARL would have said something. But no. Just kept driving.

Hell even Daryl and Merle helped that family out a couple episodes ago even if Merle didn't really want to.

You know, just from a logisitcal-survival of the human species level. There can not be that many Living Humans still around, (relatively)

Quite litterally we are talking of a human die-off rate of what.. between 5 and 9 out of every 10 people dead and now part of the un-dead?

The point?

They are going to need genetic diversity for any chance of humanity to over-come this obsticle. That means, they are going to need what.. 1500 some completly unrelated people in any given region? And even then, theirs going to need to be lots of migration to sustain genetic diversity without everyone looking more like Merle....

Oye... so yea..

As I said.

Retarded to not help the guy, when they are going to need as many bodies as possible to fight the Governer...

Future-prospects of genetic divirsity & labor-pool for creation of food.... (seriously, how are they getting food these days? That stuff in convenience stores only last so long... and you can quite littearlly, only eat deer for so long before Scurvy sets in!)

Well Rick & Co may not be thinking or caring about genetic diversity. Also iirc humanity has come back from a genetic bottleneck of 10-15k people before so it's not a super huge concern when your top priority is just staying alive.

Still it bugged me how they passed that guy up. And I'm guessing eventually Tyreese's group is going to join the Ricktatorship so like wtf. It's not like new people are completely taboo.
