If it's possible to make myrddraal, which are disturbing, shadowy, dark, and gains pleasure from torturing others. Would it be possible to create beautiful, radiant, flowing, and gains pleasure from helping others type things? I mean, since it is possible to make these and trollocs, why didn't anyone on the light side make more perfect people? With better memory, sharper reflexes, and a tendancy to be righteous and good?

Just a thought

Green men were created without use of the True Power. They had human souls, taken from the supply of souls that are due to be reborn. Someshta seemed a good "person". I would think Robert Jordan didn't fashion the world of the WoT as one where humans could create souls, so maybe Someshta was good because of his human soul? That's just the way I think it might be.

Maybe all green men had souls that were selected because of their "good" qualities? Selected by the Wheel, I mean.

Well the Myrddraal were never meant to be made. The Trollocs made them themselves. There were an unexpected consequence to Aginor, and even he barely understands them. So the light side would have to have someone as good with bio-engineering as Aginor (and there probably weren't many since Aginor was one of the most powerful male Aes Sedai around) to make something akin to the Trollocs for the light side, which I'm not sure would even be possible, and then those things would have to make the opposite of Myrddraal themselves. So it's really a giant gamble that you would ever get something like Myrddraal for good.

Just curious, but where did you get this info? I only ask because it's something I've never heard anyone else mentioned before. Is there a quote about this? (Er, this is in reference to them having human souls, it's obvious they weren't created with the TP since they existed before the Bore was drilled)

In the BWB on page 31 off my copy (Chapter 3- The Age of Legends), it says:

"One particularly interesting fragment records Aes Sedai participating in an avenue of research that led to the development of living constructs made with and/or able to utilize the One Power. Chora trees were one such construct. Their large green trefoil leaves emitted an aura of peace and well-being to any who passed beneath them. The Nym, another construct, were sentient beings with the ability to utilize the One Power for the benefit of plants and growing things. As a nameless scribe in Paaran Disen wrote, 'Where a Nym touched, all manner of green and growing things thrived.'"

Ok, that's all well and good, I knew the Nym were constructs made by humans instead of natural creatures. But where does it say that they have human souls?

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to be antagonistic or anything. Just curious. It actually makes sense. They're living things with intelligence so they probably have souls, and I can see channelers somehow "infusing" a construct such as the Nym with a human soul, but is this actually stated outright somewhere? Or is this a theory/assumption on your part?

I don't know about that part. I don't remember reading that either.

It's stated outright. A Nym isn't reborn as a nym, but is taken from the supply of souls awaiting rebirth.
Wotmania and Dragonmount Q&A

How does the idea of souls apply to constructs such as Nym and Trollocs? Could either of them be reborn?

To whoever put this one forward, this is one of the best questions I've ever gotten! Nym and Trollocs both have souls, and either could be reborn, but since Nym were a pure construct (i.e. each of them was individually made, like hand-crafting) a Nym would not be reborn as a Nym. You might say that a Nym's soul was borrowed temporarily from the supply of souls awaiting rebirth. A Trolloc, however, bears a twisted, or corrupted soul, and would be reborn as a Trolloc. Though frankly, a Trolloc's soul is such a pitiful thing, it hardly seems worth calling a soul.

Of course, in order to do anything like ceating a construct, you'd have to have a huge advance in the tech tree of Randland. The constructs of the AoL were made with the Power, probably combined male and female manipulating DNA using power-made tech with a knowlege base of research spanning thousands of years with educated and dedicated researchers devoted to it. You really dont have that in Randland, even though the Third Age can do things with their intutive use of the Power that the Leftovers from the AoL couldnt even dream of in their rational use of the Power.
