Hi all, I have been around for just a short time on Dragon mount and had just started reading EOTW a month ago. I burned though 11 books and a prequal like lighting since then. I loved KOD and was crushed when I read the last page because I knew I had just read the last book of wheel of time written by Robert Jordan...I had TGS right there to start sure but I couldnt help feeling like it would be differant from the rest of the books. Yes I was growing a little tired of some of the later books and how they were coming on but I cant and could not explain my holy love for this wolrd its characters and my friends.[ yes thats cliche but its true] So i read every word and every paragraph absorbing and growing to understand the individuals and their struggles. Like I said, I loved KOD but there was still soo much more that I needed.. It was around 1:30 in the morning when I finished KOD and when I read the last word on the last page I felt that overwhelming sense of loss most of you felt on September 16, 2007. I tried to start The Gathering Storm 10 minutes later but could not, I was to emotuional, I lay awake for hours with my mind in such a state that I thought, this must be what it feels like to be stilled, cut off from wich you love. I had to get my laptop and look up and watch every interview and video with Robert Jordan and finish the process of grieving for my loss to get to sleep that night. When i awoke the next day

I started The Gathering Storm but it felt differant.. not alien, not foreign, just differant. I could not shake the feeling that I was just imagining it was differant, again the laptop came out, but this time I did a very thourogh job resurching every thing I could about Brandon Sanderson.I was very thourogh, and one thing came to understand that we, the fans love Branden Sanderon. This gave me great hope, and with my fears that Ill never get to be with my true WOT friends again temperd and eased... I read on....Well that was yesterday and I have just finsihed The Gathering Storm written by Brandon Sanderson, My new favorite living author. I conffes that I doubted Mr Sanderson and for that I owe him great toh.... I was stunned with Rand at Natrin's Barrow, blubberd like a baby on A Visit From Verin Sedai, fought with Egwene as she lead the White Tower and cheerd wildly for her victory, And then.... I smiled with Rand. I see you Branden Sanderson, May you always find water and shade

Aaww you've said such nice things! I'm sure Brandon will appreciate it, especially :)

Welcome to DM, Jarlaxle. Hopefully you'll find a "home" here with us, somewhere. Feel free to poke around and ask questions, ok? The others will be along soon to tell you more things

I think it's important to remember that Sanderson is writing from RJ's outline. Most major plot points in TGS and ToM (and AMoL when that arrives) were already going to be there under RJ. I look at it as though RJ is guiding Sanderson's hand. Some characters might sound different, or act a little funny, but the story is still what RJ would have given us (mostly) and that helps me be satisfied.
