The seer is not the only one who can claim the role. Anyone can. Seer claims can be as disadvantageous to the innocents as to the evil players, as I know from happy experience. I did suggest earlier that you fake-claimed - I had a counter-move in the bag in case you took the hint, of course, but it was still an interesting possibility.
