Where is the Horn ?

so the last we all knew the horn is in the tower. only suian and verin know where it is.

 

so what i am asking where in the tower do you think it is? and do you think it is still there?

maybee. there is that one chapter, that has verin asking egwene if they found anything while they were in the kitchen.

or its somewhere else all togther maybee in verins cluttered ass room above the library. but it could be anywhere in the tower with all the spacial shifting and whatnot.

Do you mean way back after Falme when the girls were ostensibly being punished for running away? If so I think it was implied that Verin was asking if they had found anything about the Black Ajah and one of the girls thinking to themself "does she want us to get caught?" or something along those lines.

yah thats the one. thats really the only thing i would think that would make ppl think that the horn is under her care. at least thats how i see it.

Or that we know that Verin was very good at ferreting out secrets such as Laras' bolt hole/hiding place. Now that I think about it, why didn't Verin mention the hidey hole in her letter to Mat?

I thought it was in the same store room where Padan Fain went to retrive the SL dagger and where Alviarin confronted him? Didn't he mention that he would've liked to retrieve it if he had the time, but he needed to get the dagger and get out before Alivarin killed him or something? The reason why only Verin and Siuan know about it (besides Padan Fain) is because they put it there and kept it secret. Mat even said in ToM I believe that the Tower had something that belonged to him that he meant to retrieve before the Last Battle, IIRC.

I don't think it was in the storeroom with the Ter'angreal and Fain's dagger. It wouldn't stay secret there for very long because lots of Aes Sedai have access to the storeroom and would be curious about a worn leather satchel when evrything else seems to be catalogued and on display for easy access. Just doesn't make sense to me that Siuan and Verin would think that that is a safe place for it.

Plausible but how would people think it was a fake, immediate thought is Mask of Mirrors weave but, it seems very out of character for Verin to have a fake horn on display and wouldn't her rooms be cleaned out and her posessions put in storage now that she's dead? Not a good hiding place in my opinion.

i would think that her rooms are still as they are being above the library..I sort of remember something being said about how no one really goes there except for the few browns that have rooms there.

 

so it would kind of be a good place to hide it. cause you know what happened and all that jazz when she was not counting on the events to go the way they did so it might be there.

the horn would have to be hidden with someone inconspicous and also likely to be in the WT everytime should Mat come to collect the horn and somewhere where it will be away from any curious eyes/hands.

 

so in that sense laras make a good candidate and in TGS verin tells egwene to say thank you to laras for her. maybe it was for more than just the tea.

I too am one that thinks the Horn is with Laras.

 

I always thought there was something special about Laras, that she would have a bigger role to play eventually. RJ spent too much effort creating a mysterious background for Laras for her to be inconsequential in the end.

 

I had no idea what it might be, but after Verin mentioned Laras twice in her last hour, I remembered about Laras' hidey-hole and put two and two together.

 

My only doubt though...if Laras really does have the Horn, then why was Verin so vague about it? Why not just tell Egwene straight up that Laras has the Horn?

I like the thought of it being hidden in plain sight somewhere. Trouble is, that inscription's a dead giveaway.

 

Perhaps Laras does have it, but it was Siuan who gave it to her, rather than Verin.

Verin left a letter for Rand with a specific AS in the WT. She searched for the Oath Rod, which was probably stored somewhere in the vicinity of where the hoV was hidden. She had lots of letters when she met Mat. She had a fair amount of time between leaving Algiarin's Manor and drinking poison. She could have gated into the WT anytime. The HoV could be anywhere and she could have left instructions about it with anyone.

The real question is will the AS give the horn back to Mat when he asks for it?
