Movie finally in progress??

Was just looking at some of my regular websites today, when i happened to see a status update on The Eye of the World movie at IMDB.com

Might not be anything to it, but for quite some time now, the tentative release date has been 2012. When i checked today, it was set for 2013.

Just curious if anyone knows anything

Could be Fan hype....just thought it interesting that it has been 2012 for several months, then all of a sudden was changed to 2013. Personally, I despise the idea of a movie. I would much rather them try something along the lines of "Game of Thrones" on HBO.

I would love to see a movie series of the quality of the recent LOR movies. I've always thought that if they did long movies like for LOR that they could possibly do one movie for every three books. The first three books arc toward Rand drawing callandor and growing into being the dragon reborn. 4-6 brings in the Aiel and culminates in Dumai's Wells. 7-9 brings in the Seanchan and culminates in the cleansing of Saidin. 10-12 Rand is increasingly transitioning to Darth Rand and culminates in Veins of Gold. 13-14 steamrolls to the conclusion. Would be 5 movies or they could possibly go to 6 to make it a more round number like the Star Wars sextet. Of course, some things would have to be cut or shortened (much to some posters delight, like the Perrin rescuing Faile or Elayne's struggle for the crown plotlines), but also a lot of Jordan's writing is description, which can be shown visually in way less time.

 

I would hate to see such an amazing book series end up with a poor-quality movie series and would watch such a movie series as I described above probably 100 times. :)

It needs to be filmed in New Zealand like LoTR.
