Here's our current player list:

1. Krak

2. Verbal

3. Song - Scum

4. Lils - killed at night, no official read, likely town

5. Aemon

6. Hybrid - Vig killed Song, and died for it. As far as I'm concerned, that makes him town

7. Wombat

8. Dralid - killed at night, no official read, likely town

9. Al

10. Aust

11. Toy

12. Dusty

13. Kivam

14. Mynd - died once, revealed as town, claimed his alignment didn't change

3 Scum and a symp would be the most likely setup for 14 players, though this is a DPR game. We're likely looking at 2-3 scum left (unless this is a conversion game, which would suck).

I've been buried in briefs, so I need to do a re-read to be certain, but:

Aemon is on the bottom of my suspicion list. Krak, Toy and Redust are at the top. Alanna is slightly below, followed by Verbal (who would shoot to the top if Redust is scum) and everyone else is floating in the middle).

Mynd is in a class by himself.

The feelings on Toy and Krak are based on vague things I remember noticing as they happened, but could easily change on a reread, and I wouldn't act on them yet. I'd like this day to go a bit slower than the last one.

Finally, MYND - CAN YOU TELL US EXACTLY WHAT THE CONVERSATION WAS BETWEEN YOU AND SONG WHEN SHE "SLIPPED"? I know you say you can't quote PM's - but that shouldn't prevent you from posting Song's exact words, or at least paraphrasing them fairly closely (same as we've been doing with the information we've been getting from the Mod). All the "no quoting" rule usually means is that you can't hit the quote button and post it on-thread that way.

If we want to confirm this information about Kivam and Verbal 100%, we should lynch one of them. One of their deaths would clear or condemn the second.

Verbal is now trying to distance himself from Kivam, but don't forget that he was a lot more sure of his alignment prior to my vote. I would concur with the statement above. Either one, but my vote stays on Kivam for the time being.

This is a really interesting exchange, for me. I haven't played with Redust enough to know about him, but Mynd has definitely played mafia enough, and is definitely good enough, to know that the result on either of us won't say anything at all about the other (especially if we flip town, which I know I will, and Verbal might). The fact that he agrees with Redust that one of our deaths would "clear or condemn" the one who wasn't lynched really sticks out to me as unusual.

Song's body convulses and a tentacle lashes out and wraps around Lily's calf. Thorn-like teeth pierce her flesh, and she gives an identical pain-filled scream as Hybrid did only moments ago. Her eyes are wide in fear and pain as the dead tentacle slips from it's last kill...

LILY, TOWN, HAS BEEN NIGHTKILLED.

With 10 alive, it takes 6 to lynch.

Actually, Lily was confirmed town.

No comment other than that, I'm trying to wrap my head around everything at the moment.

Thanks - missed that as I scanned the thread, just assumed the "everything's murkier in the dark" rule applied to Lily as well. Guess not.

Just a quick clarification, I am allowed to say that Songs and I could speak offline about the game as both ghosts; however, I cannot quote PMs. We were chatting about the game and she let it slip about Kivam and Verbal. She must not have remembered that I am still innocent and win with the town.

I'm fine with either lynch. Kivam or Verbal.

Mynd, I agree with Kivam that you need to tell us precisely what was said. I'll say more once you've reported back on this.

As for Verbal, I'm not too sure what to make of him just now. Krak though is a big suspect of mine - he was going in too many directions on day one, saying one thing and doing another, and then lately he's started lurking. His hammer on Song was too convenient - clearly she was going down after Aemon's reveal and so hammering her is a nice ploy to appear innocent - and then the "oh my, did I just cast the hammer?" comment fell a little flat.

That was a mod-slip. I should have left Lily's alignment a mystery. Curses!!!

Yes! Finally someone brings me up as a suspect. I was getting sweaty feet. Mafia doesn't feel right if I'm not on someone's list. Thanks Kiv.

This is an interesting revelation to say the least. Mynd's words during the Night are more understandable now. Mynd is a better player than this. If he is believing Song, either he's truly convinced she slipped up, or he's trying to play US like a violin. Mynd: your hands are too chapped for me to allow you to pluck my strings.

I will not support a lynch on Verbal or Kivam based off the words of scum.

I can support the lynch of Redust, however. He has been jingling my radar bells since Day 1. His recent posts only clinch it for me.

He posted day 1???

I agree about Mynd though. Either Song actually slipped up, she's more devious than I thought, or Mynd is in on it. Which translates to: I don't want to deal with it right now. Blah.

That matches my impression of Krak (again, pending re-read, which will likely happen late tonight once my shabbos food is cooking), except for the last bit. If you look at the posts' timestamps, he and Redust literally posted at the same time; I'm sure he was actually very surprised to have hammered, whether he was innocent or not.

I did not defend Verbal. Though I see now that it looks that way.

I think me being one more living innocent is a great contribution to the game.

If Kivam is scum, I'm all for being the sacrificial lamb to nail your coffin closed.

Ah fair enough - I was going from memory which seems to serve me less well with each passing year :p I have a hunch about Krak which is why I voted him, but I agree that Redust is looking scummy as well and I'll support a lynch on him.

Still waiting on Mynd to hear about this conversation with Song.

If this is a serious post, you have a lot to learn about mafia. (If not, excellent job playing the confused new-ish guy, it's believable).

Take this as standard mafia advice, separate and apart from this game: the fact that a player leads a lynch on an innocent does not mean that player is scum, unless the reason for leading the lynch is "I'm the finder the mod said lynchee is scum" or you catch them in a lie or contradiction. One reason mafia almost always wins newbie games is because townies get locked into the "he led the lynch of an innocent, he must be scum!" mindset, and end up lynching each other day after day if the finder doesn't get lucky and start nailing scum.

BTW, the "just because the lynched guy was innocent doesn't mean lynching him was a scum move" general rule is especially true where the proposed lynch target acknowledges that the basis for suspicion is valid.

Also, just being a "living innocent", if that's what you are, isn't enough of a contribution. Sorry.

I'm of a mynd to ignore Mynd for now. Maybe a finder can sort Kivam and Verbal out. Neither of them seemed too scummy to me earlier so I don't see why we should play WIFOM with their lives just because Mynd feels like it.

Vote Krak

His schizophrenic post regarding Hybrid and overall weird play still bother me.

Posted

Oh, it was a serious post.

I'm not "playing the newbie", I am a newbie. This is like my third game ever, and none of them were played close to the same time. So maybe I'm being foolish.

I don't trust Mynd 100% but we know he was innocent. I think his info from Song is the best we've got going. It seems at this point either Kivam, Verbal, Mynd or Redust is guilty. I know I'm not, so I can support one of the other three. Mynds information suggests that Kivam and Verbal are either guilty together or innocent. If one of you is innocent, we know Mynd is a liar.

My luck and instincts were pretty good in Fiddlyn Purge, and those same feelings tell me that a lynch on either Verbal or Kivam, or even Mynd, I suppose, will make things clearer to us.

Lynching me will not make things clearer for any of us. Except maybe to show that I was speaking honeslty.

Heck, I'll give you all my info right now, even though it's even less useful than Kivam and Verbals.

I had a one-shot Finder ability that I used on Lily. I got the result that she was Town. That could have at least been something, but DPR slipped and posted her alignment. So that doesn't help me much at all. Oh yeah, and I don't have a Ghost Role.

So basically I'm going on that luck and instinct that Hybrid hailed earlier. Either way, I think we'll find a mafia in one of us four.

Current Vote Count:

Kivam (1): Mynd

Redust (2): Kivam, Toy

Krak (2): Aust, Wombat

With 10 Alive, it takes 6 to Lynch

Sorry, Redust, but Kivam's right. Besides, going off of info from a scum is never in the best interest of the Town.

If you can find more solid evidence that we can see with our own eyes, then that would be different.

I don't mean to deflect, but I just saw this and I'm thinking that it is quite reckless not to want to deal with the situation.

*sigh* You think people would read what you type. Or maybe you just don't believe me?

Unfortunatly, it's a situation that might land me the gallows, so I do in fact frown upon those unwilling to get their hands dirty in this and perhaps agree with me?

What? No chance of that? Afraid of Kivam?

I'm sorry, was this directed at me? I've never played with you, you shouldn't make any judgments like that.

Your Mom Aust!

Well look who decided to come out to post finally! Hello Krakles! Did one of your teammates tell you that you had a couple votes against you?

Notes on reread.

1) Checkin posts.

2) Toy opens the voting with a random vote on Redust (something to file away for now, since both have wound up on my suspect list)

3) Aemon's joke vote on Toy

4) SONG joke vote on me (everyone but me should be wondering if this was a distancing vote)

5) Alanna random votes Wombat

6) Verb votes Krak for referencing Snow

7) Mynd votes Verb for hating on Snow

8) Some banter between Toy and Redust

9) Wombat votes Aust for "two scumtells in one post"

10) Toy says he saw two scumtells, but not in Aust - did Toy ever elaborate on this?

[There may be limits on the number of links per post, so I'm going to break this recap into chunks]
