Apologies - I had intended to have the scenes up two days ago, but I've had no time at all. Setting up a new company to replace the old one whilst unemployed defiitely takes its toll on the nerves, heh.

However, fear not. I will have the rest of th scenes up, and there are clues and information you will need to vote. I'll extend the voting as well. If I can get everything posted by tonight, then I'll extend through Wednesday.

Raisa looks throught the bars of her cage, hanging beneath the arch, swaying in the trade winds.

Too many dreams have plagues her sleep of late.

Too much bonestome has been used against her, but also for her, and some used that had nothign to do with her at all.

Waves crash below along the beach where the prisoners are released if they are found guilty. The Myshir Trept lurk in the deeper water water until the sun goes down. The beach is empty now.

But Raisa worries.

Will the Minister see the plot set agaisnt him?

Will he understand the puzzle that has been constucted to hide the candidate that would bring the Hall to ruin?

Raise closes her eyes and a tear squeezes through. Above all, she hopes that the dream she had of the black bonestone was not real. That no one is actually in control of such a thing. that she just imagined it.

But she knowa it wasn't.

And another tear slides down her face as she prays for the best...

Will the Minister see the plot set agaisnt him?

Hint!

Wes has been very open about the Bonda Perrada and his intentions, but almost nothing thusfar has been said about the Beva. The Minister has been portrayed as an incredibly shrewd and intelligent man thusfar, he would be well aware of the Bonda Perrada and any plans the man might have. However, as the Beva Perrada is the man he has put forward, he could have easily been a bit too trusting and not realised that the Beva is actually a danger to him, and the pirate nation.

1. Tha candidates now know their alignment.

Except that that no longer matters, due to the above statement.

If that's true, then why post this nonsense about events from the beginning of the game?

1) Not by your line of reasoning.  The characters and the players are linked.

2) DPR never said anything about the alignments in the past not meaning anything.  What he said was this:

1. Tha candidates now know their alignment.

How do you know your alignment?  Simple, the mod PMs you.  That's all he said -- that you were fully briefed on the matter.  He didn't say anything one way or another about alignments in the past.

You know who the last person to twist DPR's words was?

Yes, exactly, we now know our alignments, meaning we didn't before, so prior alignments could have been anything.

You, however, have been actively supporting Talya since before Talya or myself knew which of us was which, and you've openly proclaimed yourself as Beva Perrada, and we know that everyone who came up as Bonda or Beva has been mafia. Even if I didn't end up the Bova, that would have been convincing enough for me to vote against your candidate.

If that's true, why "hint" that the Beva Perrada has been mafia since the start of the game?

If I was mafia, this would be the dumbest play in the history of the game.  Right before night, I claim a faction that has only flipped scum so far and start pushing for a candidate.  Then I get blasted by vig kills and revealed for what I really am.  Everyone realizes that everything I said before should be ignored, and my side loses a vote in the process.

Also, my reason for believing Talya so far should be obvious.  But I haven't voted yet, and I won't until the deadline.  I'm still waiting to hear what the actual voters have to say about my theories.

The Dreaming God stone flares in the hand of the user, pale blue light shining with a power stronger than before. The power builds, and the user tries to control it, finding a way to ride the energy, to guide the energy, and to find what it is that the user seeks.

Breathe is synonymous with awareness, and the user can feel The Hall and all of its people. Every point along their skin, every pore, is alive and drawing in the energy cast from the stone.

It easily finds the thing that is sought. The Black Bonestone. The one piece that could upend all of the plans that had been laid so carefully.

Power surges as it recognizes the other vessel, and for a moment their energies reach toward each other...until the first threads meet and the energies recoil in recognition of opposir energies.

The Black Stone pulses in the vest pocket of the man that carries it. That man is Hybrid, and he takes the stone out to study it. He has been in possession of the stone since the attack.

Every living being on Suras recognizes bonestone, and a pirate is more aware than most of its value.Hybrid considers this, and feels te stones power as it whipers to him, yearning to be released.

But Hybrid is wise. He holds the jet black stone out for just a moment longer, then puts it back into his pocket. He has decided to forgo any possible profit, and to return it to the witches. They will know better what to do with it.

HYBRID HAS CHOSEN NOT TO USE THE BLACK BONESTONE TO POSSIBLY IDENTIFY THE MAFIA CANDIDATE.

Half a world away, a boiling mass of energy senses that its opportunity is lost, and casts its energies elsewhere in search of different targets.

But, beneath the Hall, a very different scene takes place. The Dreaming Godstone has recoiled all of its power, swallowing the user until all control over the stone is lost. With no conscious guide to wield the power, it surges again, into a blinding flash, and quickly burns itself out.

The user, Pete, convulses before he slumps forward, dead.

PETE, THE DREAMING GOD AND TOWN, HAS DIED.

IT IS NOW DAY. EVERY LIVING PLAYER MUST PM THEIR VOTE TO ME BY 6 PM, TUESDAY. FINAL RESULTS AND THE WINNER OF THE GAME WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT 8.

Posted

Well that was interesting. Can you tell us a little bit more about this decision you made Hybrid? Why you wouldn't try to uncover the mafia candidate?

Posted

Well, Aust, it does say "POSSIBLY" identify the mafia candidate.

It probably could've killed him, too, or something like that. Who knows?

Posted

I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to say, since I wasn't allowed to consult anyone concerning my decision.  But I can point this out:

The third option is Xoc, and involves total destruction of every player. This will be a moral dilemma that a player will have to face. That player has not been chosen yet.

Something bothering me...

During the creature attack according to Talya she blocked Lily's kill using Bonestone.  From a DPR scene:

"Gentlemen and Ladies, it was beyond bold to steal black bonestone in the first place. But for our thief to lose it in the Jenji attack, and for it to dissapear without a trace is unthinkable. To not report such a thing is treason. That stone will find it's own master and it will be used. When that happens, we will all wish we had never hatched such a plan." The speaker pauses. 'I don't suppose any of you has figured out how to solve our little dilemma?"

I don't know if the bonestone Talya had was black or not.  I'm the third on Talya's team so I know she started town (also how I know she had a bonestone since it was said on the QT but not here).  She said she received the bonestone on the day of the attack but didn't know why.  I don't know if she still has it or when she lost it if not.  If it wasn't black then the scene doesn't apply, but if it was that could tell me how to vote as town.

Hybrid had the Blackstone Pookie, I don't think my stone was anything to do with the Candidate thing. It was a passive stone, I didn't use it, it just reflected anything done to me!

As for the scenes, the only thing that I do remember well is when the woman viewed the people around Beva and Bonda, she saw Black hearts, but when she looked at the Bonda crowd they were using it and it almost got her, Why would someone as a supporter of the Bonda have such a powerful stone. My stone would only reflect back what was done, so if someone viewed me they would just read they own faction, not mine. She was looking and whatever came back at her almost killed her had she not been quick off the mark.

well, deadline draws near and I have now cast my vote. i hope I have made the right decision. I will tell you if you really want to know, but there isn't a lot I can say about why I voted this way. All the salient points have already been brought up.

Raisa looks back to the Minister.

"Thank You."

He nods, "Of course. It is the least I can do." He pauses. "It is also all I can do."

The small group drops deeper into the caverns beneath The Hall.  Jeran reaches toward an old wooden door, crossed with Iron bands. "This is it."

Barmacral nods. Helys steps forward, and pushes the door open. On the other side is darkness.

A sharp flash of golden warm light emits from her eyes, and is answered ten fold in the darkness. Eyes the color of candlelight now stare back at you and you can't decide whether it is eerie, or beautiful. You push the thought out of your mind as you realize that they, like you, are now forced to run.

The Minister waves you all through, looking at Barm as he passes.

"Ironic, no?"

Barm pauses at this, staring at The Minister with open curiosity.

"It is ironic, but it didn't have to be. Why didn't you just leave me to die?"

The Minister smiles.

'Because I do believe that you truly wanted to benefit The Hall. Your vision may differ from mine, but you followed the rules and the code of honor, and there can never be any shame in doing that. Your opponent chose another road, and that must not be allowed to go unanswered."

Barm nods in respect, but snorts at the smae time.

"I fear that Talya will not be hearing an answer from me for quite some time. She will be the Minister now, and all will follow her." he waves his own hand around them, "Hence our timely departure from The Hall."

The Minister holds up a finger.

"Ahhh, it is unfortunate that we must depart so quickly. But don't give up so easily. I've had to leave The Hall before, and I believe that the new regime will find it more than challenging to hold on to what they believe they have won."

A scream rings in the halls above them.

"But for now, we should go. They have indeed won this battle, but the war has yet to be one." He looks into the darkness. "Helys?"

lanterns hanging form the ceilign flare to life, lighting the tunnel before them. Anothe scream shrieks from above, but as Jeran shut the heavy wooden door, so the scream is quited.

A SOLID MAJORITY HAS VOTED FOR TALYA, THE BEVA PERRADA, AND THE MAFIA CANDIDATE. THE MAFIA HAS WON THE GAME.

I want to thank everyone for playing! I know that activity dropped because of the pauses, and I do apologize for that, but it was truly unavoidable.

Congratulations to the mafia team and to Talya and Meesh for pulling this one off!

Posted

Gah! Well congrats you two! I'm embarrassed to say I missed the voting deadline but I was going to vote for Talya anyhow, so I wouldn't have helped things much - in fact I've made a lot of big mistakes in this game (sorry town!)

Anyhow, Wes it was truly an amazing game - your writing is par excellence and the set up was brilliant - thanks so much!!!
